Hell, I barely know Stars! or SE4. I'm kind of surprised... what are they, Malfador Machinations? Still exists.
I ditched SE4 and eventually discovered Sword of the Stars 1. I haven't had one true space love since 2 came out and broke my heart.

This is not a fun game.
Cut scenes every 5 seconds
Sub 30fps
Lazy still frame cut scenes
Forgettable side characters
Linear as fuck
QTEs every 5 seconds
Impressive combo system but hardly any enemies to try them on
Million things on screen for no reason
Shitty camera angles
List goes on
This game did not live up to the hype.

God damn this game is a massive downgrade from FEAR 1 and even FEAR 2. I'm trying to play this again and even while drunk it's still a massive bore. I'm currently on the Slums level. Does this game get better or should I put this on my backlog for eternity?
