i personally think that on PC the only comparable game is The Crew, which is an unoptimized piece of shit.
on the downside forza is sold at console price range which is a big no no.
Why is it so difficult to create something original and surprising?
Could it be that everything has already been created and what we see and perceive as original is just an alternate version of something that is not that well known?

Yeah, that is what most companies are after, but there are those that still try to surprise us with its plot and weirdness, usually weird enough to make you question what the game is going to be about.

It's an economical question of risk vs profit.
The developers most at liberty to try new things (indies) would already be working for major companies (who don't take risks) if they had any talent. That's why you get talentless shovelware from indies who've completed a few UE4 tutorials.
