>"indie games suck fucking pixelshit REEEEEEEEEEE"
>play an indie game with pixel graphics anyway
>it's good
Thanks /v/.
I can always count on the opposite of your opinion.

I don't think anyone has ever shitposted on Crypt of The Necrodancer.
Not all indie games are pixelshit.
Not all pixelshit is indie.
Not all pixel art games are pixelshit.
Pixelshit is only bad if the gameplay does not make up for it.
A game like Necrodancer needs easily readable high contrast graphics due to its gameplay. Sprites are perfect for it.

This is the second sign of the end of the world. First Sonic this year and now this, what's next? How deep will this rabbit hole go

Why do they persist with the ugly, tired retro-futurism bullshit of the Fallout series? Why can't a realistic post-apocalyptic game be made?
Because it's POST APOCALYPSE.
>>386386949
Pic is about >POST APOCALYPSE
I don't see any human being they are probably all dead.
>>386386881
because that would be boring, the environments would look like any destroyed city in modern military shooter anyway
How do you propose such a game be done correctly?
Stop having literally all of them be gritty realistic looking games. Also stop having almost literally all of them be unfinished early access schlock for 12 year olds with their parent's credit card. Minecraft, as divisive as it can be, probably wouldn't have been as memorable if it was a bland as fuck looking game visually like every game in its style has become today.
>>386387081
I enjoyed the flat shaded look of Long Dark and Firewatch. I wished there was actual base building and decorating (hang heads of kill etc.)
Wish there could be more focus on hunting.
>>386386812
Extremely hostile world.
Lots of mechanics, on par with modded minecraft if possible (either tech, magic, or fuck it, both at once)
The possibility of making a fast transport network or even a moving base. Whether this takes the form of trains, teleport gates, complex translocation rituals or full on Mortal Engines (pic related) style moving cities it's up to the player.
Lots of stuff to do and many ways to tackle it, take the good parts of procedural generation and say "FUCK IT!" to realism, floating islands, end-of-the-world drops and a even more bizarre place beyond.
Make it so that you want to go out, get your ass kicked, want to find other players to set out, succeed where you previously failed, get your asses kicked again and come back for more to go that one meter further into the unknown.
Why do FPS developers love to shove weapons into your face?
>>386386067
Because a smaller FOV means less to render.
>>386386067
make your own FPS then
> GS: And with the next game you worked on (Silent Hill 2) you had a lot more story control. Do you miss having control over a project like that?
>Takayoshi Sato: Well…I don’t know, I’m in the United States now, and the hierarchy is so different. When I worked on Silent Hill 1, the budget average was like three to five million, like Final Fantasy. Around the time of Silent Hill 2, the average budget was maybe seven to ten million. So it was easier to get power over a project at the time, because the cost wasn’t as much. But now games could cost, I don’t know, ten to fifty million? That’s too much. Way too much money.
>Yeah, those were my glory days, with Silent Hill 2, because after the first one, I got a Japanese Cultural Ministry award, and it was shown at Siggraph, and I got the personal CEO award from Konami, so I had a lot of power over my next project. And that was really fun.
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/2382/silence_is_golden_takayoshi_.php
This right here is why gaming is stale now. Budgets are too high, so everything has to be by the numbers with no risk taking. Younger, newer, team members can't rise up or be given important new projects. They need to bring back the 3-10 million tier. PS2 games like silent Hill 2-3 look great. No one would complain about a modern game that looks like them.
>>386386058
but muh graphics and production values
>>386386058
>Budgets are too high
Exactly.
And the sad thing is, most of them are "artificially" too high: majority of the cash (in hands of AAA devs) go to marketing and hiring jew-tier Hollywood voice actors & actors.
Meanwhile, we have this "almost-AAA" level tiny group called Croteam, who have managed to create amazing, very nice looking games with mere 500k dollar budgets and only a dozen guys.
AA games are the future.
Does anyone really use the motion controls with this game? I got a headache trying to teach myself to tilt the controller up and down.
>>386386035
Most of the good players do. Just keep playing or adjust the sensitivity.
>>386386035
You have to if you ever hope to get serious with it. Sticks are simply just completely inferior when it comes to accuracy and speed. I say that as a stick user since I really can't grasp the motion controls in this game for the life of me and it really bums me out.
You get use to it. Its easier with the joycon/pro controller. I played splatoon 1 with it off. The gamepad was to big to move around like that. With the pro controller its easier. Plus i got a hang of it with Zelda.
how do i make a build of pic related in fallout new vegas? What are his special stats?

Is he still being irl stalked? lol

Hey /v/ i'm trying to get into the series I beat MM2 and am on MM3. Do you think it's ok to use save states and the turbo mode? the game feels way too hard otherwise. I actually liked the x game I played(x 1) the controls feel way to stiff in this game and it feels unfair.
What's the easiest in the classic series to start with? and how the fuck do I beat snake man with the mega buster fuck
>>386385928
I just got all six on the virtual console and used save states.
Anyone who tells you not to is just a nostalgiafag.
But don't use savestates for x series
>>386385928
go ahead and use save states if you really want, but just because youre not good at megaman doesnt make it not cheating
>>386385928
Why would you need save states if every game post MM1 provides passwords
Name a FPS that's better than Super Hot.
I'll wait.
>>386385904
nice graphics lol
Keep waiting, nobody wants to talk with you about a shitty indie game
>Smash 4 players
>"Bayonetta has to be banned. Touch of death characters have no place in Smash, it's ridiculous that characters that require so little effort to take stocks be allowed in competitive play."
>Meleefags defend this
Who's in the right?
>Smash's entire appeal is the crossover part
>The only Smash fans who think it's the gameplay are those whose favorite game in the series is the one with the worst gameplay
Climbers need to be together to pull off the wobble, and at top level play it just takes a single shine to separate Nana chase for the kill. Plus in Melee matches are 4 stock and faster paced.
Bayonetta is in a slower game with 2 stock matches, where getting touch of death is much more significant. She has amazing recovery and can't be gimped, and has shit like Witch Time if you go aggressive.
That said I still don't like Melee Icies, and I'm betting its cancer when watching a tournament with a lower overall skill level.
>>386385894
Wobbling was literally banned in a major amount of tournaments for several years.
Nice try tho.
