I played it awhile ago. I didn't know it had microtransactions until I realized I could get more bank tabs. It may be worse now, but I played through that games campaign for free and never thought of microtransactions

The currency stash is definitely a must if you plan to play a lot, otherwise, there's nothing really. It's all cosmetic.

You modify maps. Eg. enemies deal 100% more damage, but in return you get +30% more item quanty and rarity.

Good for traps, poison stuff, energy shield, etc. All depends on what you want to build for.

cosmetics and stash tabs, premium stash tabs are just an easier way to hurl garbage onto a space where you'll price it wrong and get ripped off or it'll never get bought, if you enjoy the game and want to drop money on it, currency tab is something I suggest buying. not required but clears up a lot of clutter.
being a whale I suggest x4 stash tabs, the card and essence tabs as well but I'm just an asshole with money to spend and waiting to die.

Maps, basically set rifts, imagine if you could do a certain area in d3, roll modifiyers on them such as increased monster damage or life, players perma cursed, enemies of only one type. generally harder map mods give more item rarity, quantity and pack size.

starting class that only matters if you know what your doing. don't be scared to use the wiki for things. Some classes can only get certain skill gems later on while others get them earlier or as quest rewards, at the end of the game it doesn't matter because theres a vender you can buy them from.

The best I could think of is how Blighttown is more up front with the blood and creepy gore like the blood-sucking mosquitoes, or that giant insect thing. Plus cannibals in The Depths and Gaping Dragon, along with how much attention it put on Quelaag's tits

Even the medusa and scorpion tits weren't as in-your-face about it as Quelaag, and they were much more toned down

Dumb comparison. Dark Souls 2 at least did some things objectively better than 1 (like more rolling directions), while the prequels didn't do anything objectively better than the original Star Wars trilogy.

While 3 might be better PvE wise 2 has a much better multiplayer and far better online mechanics, that and 2 has far more content

Dark Souls 2 has durability degradation directly tied to your frame rate.

It also has the worst hitboxes in the series.

And your invincibility frames on your roll are tied to a stat.


This alone is enough to make it inferior compared to any other in the series.
