I enjoyed both, but you're right. Nobody's taking 1999's crown from it. Even the people who built that don't have the fire to do it anymore. It's a real shame.

Pillars of Eternity is actually really good. The combat isn't quite as dry as the old DnD games, and the story itself is well-written, for a video game.

I haven't played Torment yet, but Brian Fargo is a fucking hack riding on his own name, so I don't have high hopes for it.

I've managed to at least have SOME fun on Dustbowl.

Explain. He's wearing a fantasy sky diving suit because that's his profession. He's been a sky salvager for many years before he meets Pyra. He's wearing a swimming suit underneath because the area around the giant titans you traverse on is called a Cloud Sea. His boots and leg attire is inspired by fishing waders and vintage scuba diving hear. He also carries a helmet on his back because he needs it for when he dives below the clouds. And of course his hookshot is self explanatory. He uses the hookshot in battle too.
