I like Dark Cloud 2 more, but Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix is a contender. The extra bosses are what elevate it though, if it made you rely on learning the intricacies of combat and your moves more in the main game it would be.

Because it was full of wasted potential, lazy design (QTE's everywhere, the boss fight is repeated multiple times, insta-fail "stealth" segments etc) and some performance issues at launch. That said though I went in expecting a 5 hour interactive movie and after renting it I got a good looking 5 hour interactive movie. As such it was pretty enjoyable for me personally and I don't know why CoD/Gears/Halo/Walking_Simulators/etc can all get free passes but not the Order.

I mean short, heavily scripted, linear and unfinished games which put presentation over substance aren't exactly rare. ~~I'd even go so far as to say that Killzone and Knack were worse SINGLE PLAYER exclusives~~

Some more details and first screenshots of DW9 have been released.

>All 83 existing characters returning
>New characters: Zhou Cang for Shu, Cheng Pu for Wu

>Open world which will apparently cover all of China, but focus on areas of battles.
>Story mode is split into eras e.g. Yellow Turban era, Dong Zhuo era, etc.
>Each era has a main mission which you have to clear to advance to the next era (e.g. defeat Zhang Jiao in Yellow Turban Era to advance to Dong Zhuo era).
>There's also several sidequests and optional missions which make the main mission easier.
>Battles aren't split by stages/levels, there can be multiple battles going on in different regions and you have to decide which one to participate in.
>Story progression is character-based, different characters start/end in different eras.
>Story follows the novel, no hypothetical routes.

>Traditional musou square/triangle combo system being replaced with a "state combo" system where characters have three types of attack that progress like Trigger Attack -> Flow Attack -> Finish Attack, with variations for each attack based on inputs and context.
