I think it's good that it's cut out because I want to play fucking Fire Emblem. I don't claim to know why Nintendo decided to do these changes, but we have ample evidence that games with sexual content can be released in the west with very little reaction from the usual moral guardians. When it comes to video games the "think of the children" types have lost a lot of ground in the last 10-15 years, likely down to the simple fact that nowadays most parents are gamers themselves and don't really appreciate it when people who know less than them about video games think they can tell them what is or is not appropriate for their children.
