There will be a filler arc where the wall church needs to be defeated. Luckily Connie is somehow revealed to be an eligible candidate for their pope equivalent.

After that there is a plot by the merchants and moneylenders union, and after that the thieves guild arc. So the fateful reunion make take a while still.

Then again in all honesty, in latest chapter Ymir has more death flags than the third SS division, so I'm not holding my breath.

Compared to other characters, Sasha’s profile was the last one to be finalized. Her physical appearance details and her fundamental image were already planned at initial stage, but at that time her name was “Ymir.” The current Ymir’s characteristics - as someone who gives useful advice to Christa, and as the bearer of a secret that will be revealed as the story progresses - were initially planned for Sasha’s role.

The reason her name is not Ymir but rather Sasha is because I wanted to stick to the statement made in chapter 3 [Of the SNK manga]. At the time, it was already decided that those who “ranked top 10 among the cadets can choose which military branch they will be assigned to,” and when the story developed after that, I decided that “Ymir shouldn’t be in the top 10.” Because of this, it was necessary to create another character [to replace Ymir in the rankings], and that character became Sasha.

The current Sasha is someone who comes from a village. All her personal details, such as how she speaks in formal tone to hide her accent and her being the daughter of a hunter, were formed alongside the composition of the story. That’s why I say that her character’s establishment might be the last one amongst all.

Sasha’s name was taken from someone dubbed ”the world’s no. 1 comedian,” Sacha Baron Cohen, who always stars in radical comedic films like Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Bruno, & The Dictator. The reason I chose that name for her is because I always thought of Sasha as a comedienne.

One more thing: there is one chocolate product from Lotte called “Sasha.” Because the product name is the same as hers, I came up with the idea that her special trait is that she is a food lover. I am also familiar with the fact that if someone is a hunter’s daughter, the meat before her is also either from hunting or killing. This is another one of her important characteristics. It was easy to develop the concept of Sasha being a food lover [in the merchandise sense], because Sasha’s original food products became for sale during SNK’s campaign with Lawson [convenience stores] (laugh).

There's something that's been bothering me.

A lot of fans dismiss the significance of Annie's titan scream. After all, Sasha said it reminded her of the scream of a dying animal, so the fans just assume it's nothing more than that. But every single character who talks about it in the anime likens it to the coordinate, talks about the coordinate as though it is a power akin to Annie's titan scream, and are even able to deduce the existence OF the coordinate, by extrapolating from their knowledge of Annie's scream.

So what IS Annie's titan scream? Is it truly some special power that only she has? How is it related to the coordinate? Could other warriors also have this scream, or powers like it?

Ymir is not a primordial titan. She was titanized in 785, not 743. There is only one individual, so far as we know, who possesses the power to titanize people at will like that. Zeke and his warriors are almost certainly the ones who originally overthrew Ymir as queen.

In fact, my personal theory is that it was Ymir eating Marcel that actually triggered the attack on wall Maria in the first place. I think Zeke assumed that Ymir was going to try and infiltrate the walls and steal the Coordinate, in order to use it against Zeke to retake her throne, so he decided to invade the walls in order to find and stop her. It was only once neither she nor any of the Reisses showed up to stop him that he realized the Coordinate must have been lost, and decided to delay his attack on wall Rose for another five years while he sent Reiner, Bertolt, and Annie to perform reconnaissance.

Zeke mentioned that they'll be the one to change the cursed History, so this conflict has been going on for a very, very long time. She also ate Marcel very close to wall Maria. BRAM being close to wall Maria means breaching the wall has been their goal the whole time, even before Ymir showed up.

The scene where we learned of Grisha's death contained a huge amount of information about the world of the story. This does not confirm Ymir being alive at all. The flashback of her death could reveal whatever secrets it needs to reveal.

Obviously, noone wants Ymir to be dead. I'm just saying we shouldn't delude ourselves with false hopes. There's no way for us to know at this point what actually happened to her. She could be alive, or she could not be alive. We just have to continue gnawing on our fingernails and waiting to find out.

My theory is that he (or some predecessor of his whose powers and memories he has absorbed) is the one who overthrew Ymir as queen and titanized her in the first place, 65 years ago. So yes, I do believe he would kill her. And before killing her, he would tell Bertolt, Reiner, and the audience all about her past.

No, she pretty much says she killed herself and it made people happy. She couldn't handle that fate and people wanting her dead, so she killed herself. That's why she said her and Historia a kind of alike. Both were hated since the day they were born, couldn't handle it and wanted to kill themselves. That's why Ymir probably also looked so angry when she overheard the WC talking about Historia and how it would be easier if she just killed herself. Ymir probably also got angry in the flashback because Historia wanting to kill herself reminded her of the mistake she made and that Historia was about to do the same thing. Nothing really implies so far MT was involved in her backstory. Well he probably wasn't even born back then, since he's clearly not over 60 years old.

And that would mean that we would get Ymir's backstory inside the flashback of another flashback, as I said before, that's not Isayama's style, at all. And why exactly would Ymir reveal her whole life story to them? I can see Ymir Only wanting to talk to Historia about it seeing as they've finally opened up to one another. Besides, there's the issued that Ymir doesn't know anything about Historias past aside from the fact that she wanted to kill herself because she was unloved.

Again, for a character that's been talked about to have such immense importance. It would be underwhelming if her story was revealed inside the flashback of another character. Especially since its been hinted at that the last arc will be about her story which will also define AND conclude the story.

No. What Eren remembered is something that we already heard about and saw when Bert and Ymir were talking to each other on the tree. It was nothing new, and what matters there is that Eren managed to recall parts of it.
And even if it had been a new scene, it would have been a story through Eren's POV. Truth is, Ymir may have talked of the 60 years nightmare, and mentioned that it was like a nightmare, but we still have got nothing from her POV, aside from that scene when she's jumping down the tower, which is the only glimpse we've got of her past.

And then there's the other issue that needs resolving, which is about what Ymir talked to Historia about, that she was just using Historia because she's afraid to die. AND we were only lead to believe Ymir was lying through Connie. Ymir never gives any indication to it. All people can do is guess and speculate, Because as of now Ymir is a complete mystery. If she were to have another character reveal her story, Ymir as a character would still remain a mystery seeing as it's not het own perspective,it would be another's.

I don't disagree that it's completely viable that she's alive. I hope to death she's alive. I just lack your confidence. You say it's not possible, but frankly it feels like coinflip likelihood to me. The longer the revelation is withheld from us, the more and more pessimistic I feel, because the more and more significant the final reveal is going to be. The longer we're left waiting, the more likely the denouement is going to be something like Zeke eating Ymir or some horrible shit like that.

All I can think about is how many chapters we were left hanging before it was finally revealed that Grisha was dead. I just feel less and less hope with each passing month that Ymir's situation won't end up being similar.

Ymir seems to be complaining about Krista trying to be a nice girl and putting herself in danger, so she gives you missions to eliminate (10, 15, 20, large) titans so that she'll be safer.

In the cut scene after you complete the missions, Krista says she's glad they managed to graduate safely from the Trainee Squad.
And Ymir says that, if anyone in the top 10 besides Krista the goddess were to say those words, they might be hated.
Then Krista says that Ymir should've been in the top 10 instead of her; even if Ymir's not as good at horse riding, she's better at using the 3DMG.
To which Ymir replies that she's not the type to cooperate with others, so she lost points for that.
And Krista says that, even so, Ymir's always been saving her, and that it's because of her that their team did well, like in one of their thinking exercises where they had to hypothesize what they would do when attacking titans in the streets. An article I read said season 2 isn't allowed to start airing until the manga is at least four story arcs ahead of the anime. But Return To Shiganshina is only the third arc since season 1 ended, and only just started a few chapters ago. Does this mean we're not getting season 2 until like 2017?

I think the "four arcs" rule, if true, is stupid. The first arc was only two chapters long, and the first four arcs combined were only 34 chapters, while the fifth and sixth arcs alone are wholly 36 chapters. There's even a convenient time skip between chapters 69 and 70, where they could leave off nicely.
