When I used to make OPs I would use pics like this and still get bitched at that it "isn't technically /u/." Oh well, someone's always gonna be mad.
It's 9 or 10, it was on 9 and at image limit.
Lets get some discussion rollin sisters
what do you think this new year will bring for /u/s?
A token gay character, a few sunken ships and a deluge of smut.
We don't know if she actually got it in the White trailer.
There was an animation error since the scar appeared when she was hit, that causes several problems.
Firstly, the scar itself wasn't bleeding since it was visible next to the blood and secondly, you don't get scars in combat. You get wounds. So either Monty couldn't into biology or just forgot about it altogether.
I recall someone asking where she got the scar in a Q&A session and got no definite response, if she had gotten it from the Knight you'd think they would've said so.
Then again, maybe they didn't want to curb the speculation about the fight with the Knight being a metaphor.
A metaphor about
fighting her raging homo urges?
Cause guys with questionable fashion sense = gay, obviously.
I follow most of the RWBY extra stuff pretty close and have never heard of trumpet guy being gay. RT would never reveal the who the token gay character is outside of the show anyway.
It's Weiss anyway
Monty confirmed ages ago that all the trailers happened prior to the series, it'd be pretty fruit loops to give a time frame for a metaphor
Always make sure to show your cute pet how much you love and respect her before you pin her down and fuck her into unconsciousness.
Nobody here seems to realize that while this is the third volume this is only the VERY beginning of the story. I wish volumes would come out faster as much as everybody. But we all need to realize that this show is going to be running for another ten years/volumes at a minimum. That means that as the show grows it is going to change(and hopefully mature). So while the start was, to put it too nicely, very shaky, there will be plenty of time for it to grow. And I know that doesn't mean it will necessarily get better, but we all need to understand that anything they do is going to take time. That means being a little patient. We may very well see some good story someday, hopefully soon. But we have to give them time.
>while this is the third volume this is only the VERY beginning of the story
I'm kind of amazed that M&K have managed to write two seasons without ANY substantial storytelling at all. They've managed to only introduce a shitload of characters and done some minor world-building, but that is it. So far, we don't even know the backstories of the MAIN characters, just vague hints that Blake used to be in WF, Ruby and Yang used to live on Patch, and we know almost nothing about Weiss. The most backstory we have right now are on the villains.
I want to say that,
because in the whole view of things these first few volumes are just here to introduce the characters and the world, we will see more and more world building, and hopefully some character development as well, as time goes on. We have seen a pretty big upswing in quality for this current volume and hopefully that will continue. I personally would really like to see some more backstory stuff in between the third and fourth volumes. Maybe something like the original trailers where we see our actual fuckingmain characters several years before they started at Beacon. It could be a good way to introduce Summer and Weiss's dad. Not that we need more characters.
And? Most shows manage to do more setup in two or three episodes than they've done thus far.
Not as just as much, more.
Season one should have been dedicated to establishing team RWBY first and foremost. Their pasts, their motivations, their personalities.
They should never have had to compete with a hundred other characters for screen time in their own fucking story. Especially not with self-inserts like Juane.
I think there is some tumblr tag for Ruby/Cinder that fits the bill.
Actually all Ruby/Cinder stuff fits the bill. Most of its supporters lack the creativity and experience to write a believable romance between the two, so they use Weiss as a crutch and just pile on the angst/cheating drama instead.
I love angst and drama, between the relevant parties. Cinder/Ruby ones are just poorly handled and constantly make use of a third wheel. The actual interactions between the supposed pair always end up being minimalistic.
When a pairing can't stand on its own legs, you can't really blame anyone but the content creators themselves.
In all fairness, Ruby and Cinder are a pretty crack ship. There are certainly arguments you could make in its defense, but at its core it's a crack ship.
>Hopes and dreams
What are these things?
Weiss seems like the most likely target for any possible Cinder seductions on team RWBY, to be honest.
Emotionally vulnerable, much easier to isolate from the group, SDC heiress, probably easier to manipulate into doing shady shit than Ruby, rampant gay hormones.
It's the perfect storm, really.
That is just part of the nature of shipping heroes with villains AU gets around a lot of the issues caused by motivations, it doesn't help that there are 10+ times the number of WR fics floating around. When one pairing has near 500 stories and the other has 40, it's clear which one is going to have a larger pool of non-AU, well written stories.
I think this is less the fault of the pairing or content creators and more an issue of how pervasive white rose is, it's such a universally present relationship that when you go to create something that is CinderxRubles, it feels necessary to address that presence.
At the end of the day, the ship generally falls into two believable categories when you are trying to stay canon and avoid AU, the first being corruption, where Cinder sees Ruby as a potentially useful piece in her grand scheme, and the second is essentially Cinder playing with a relatively innocent Ruby on the side as part of her laying low at Beacon, (e.g. the fic Cinder's Gift, which is a good example of short fallen petals work that has zero mention of Weiss). For the first type, the easiest way for Cinder to begin turning the quite positive and hopeful Ruby to her side is by showing her the darker side of the world, showing her that people lie, and betray, and hurt each other--Weiss is the obvious candidate for that, Ruby has known Yang to long to begin to doubt her so quickly, and Yang is too genuine and loving as a sister.
Anyway, I'm fairly certain that the great majority of people who ship Cinder/Ruby or create content for it have no particular animosity or dislike for White Rose.
I got into the fanfics for this show a few weeks ago and it's been a downward spiral ever since? I haven't been this hooked since when the Mai-Hime archive was at its peak. Why is Weiss so fucking shipppable?
1) Sorry for your loss
2) Welcome to the fandom, have some complementary gay moms.
Because she's a raging homo
and also Best Girl.
I'm in the same boat. I haven't read fanfiction for fucking years.
Also it's because she's so fukkin gay
>Most of its supporters lack the creativity and experience to write a believable romance between the two
This is true for the majority of all fanfiction, regardless of ship. 99% of fanfiction authors are complete amateurs, it's the nature of the craft. Don't try to pin this argument on a certain ship just because you don't like it.
RvB is character growth done right. Start with a few characters, take a while to establish them and their relationships, and THEN start introducing side characters to mix it up. Even after 13 seasons, the Reds and Blues are still undoubtedly the main characters. Will we be able to say the same about RWBY if/when it gets that far?
>the Reds and Blues are still undoubtedly the main characters. Will we be able to say the same about RWBY if/when it gets that far
Other than JNPR and the Cinder Crew I don't think anyone's gotten close to Team RWBY's.
I just want to see Ruby get to unleash. She's this complete adorable doof but I rewatched the Red trailer and fucking hell she's a monster.
>fucking hell she's a monster
Yes, gaze upon the unstoppable destruction machine.
Goddammit that looks like Dolt Weiss, not Do It Weiss. Fuck.
You will fear the murder machine known as Ruby Rose.
For being a primarily lesbian artist, Funblade sure does draw a lot of men.
The ravenous and unstoppable
adorkabledemon that is Ruby Rose
I can't tell if you're commenting on other works or subtly suggesting that they look mannish in that picture.
>subtly suggesting that they look mannish in that picture
Hey, I got it. Awesome.
I don't know. I can kinda see it but it's not as bad as some others I think I've seen.
Well, RT's next-best animator after Monty just left the company. Hooray for the coming years of
even moremediocre animation!
I hear he left because
he heard rumors that Weiss wasn't the token gay character.
I honestly think they're going to pull some halfassed LoK thing where after the series is over they tell all the WR fans that "yeah Wiess is totes gay ya'll, buy our merch, k?"
There are probably too many people on both sides of the fence for them to go all in for either option.
>Things did not go as planned
This line kinda makes me think he had a sort of loss of faith after Monty passing, and only stuck around just long enough to see V3 through. There was a tweet yesterday that they had just finished all principal mocap for V3, rather coincidental he announces his leave the next day, no?
That was Tali's VA
why do I remember that
Weiss can't be the token gay character.
Then she wouldn't have her Rubles
they were both gay? Perish the thought.
That's possible. Monty had some input for v3, but after that it's all M&K's thing and they don't like other people's input or criticism. It's possible he quit because he knows where they intend to take it.
V4 may truly become The Juane and Neptune Show (also featuring their love interests and maybe some background characters the writers don't care about like Ruby).
You're demonizing the writers pretty hard. I get that it's popular to hate them here, and I'm not their biggest fan either, but "they don't like other people's input or criticism" is a completely unfounded accusation. In fact, a bunch of things in V2 and 3 are there completely because of fan feedback, the most obvious being Velvet's outfit.
Even Jaune and Neptune's involvement has been pretty minimal this volume, and do you really think their top animator would leave a respectable and probably pretty well-paying job purely because of the story's (supposed) direction, of which he probably had little-to-zero involvement in anyway?
Hate the writers all you want, but don't lose your grasp on reality.
>People complain about too much Jaune in V1 and 2
>Been in the spotlight for a total of 1 (one) episode in V3 so far
>People complain about too much Neptune in V2
>Been in the spotlight for a total of 1 (one) episode in V3 so far
>Hate the writers all you want, but don't lose your grasp on reality.
I'd figure that maybe they feel that even one episode of spotlight is too much, then? Maybe.
Second chapter of the manga's out. Here's a good WhiteRose moment.
I point this out every volume.
There is a lot of shitty writing in the show, the existence of Neptune and Jaune is not part of it. It's just people being bitter. Most episodes are about everyone, about RWBY or about a character from RWBY.
It's just like people getting bitter over Ruby not being interested in romance, and calling that bad writing.
That is my point though. People freaked the fuck out over 4 Jaune episodes when most of the volume is about RWBY.
1 - Ruby
2 - Ruby and Jaune
3 - Ruby and WBY
4 - Everyone
5 - Everyone (Mainly WR JP)
6 - Everyone (Mainly WR JP)
7 - Everyone (some WR focus)
8 - Everyone
9 - Ruby and Weiss
10 - Ruby and Weiss
11 - Jaune
12 - Jaune
13 - Jaune
14 - Jaune
15 - Blake and RWY/Penny
16 - Blake and RWY/Penny/Sun
That'd be way too
Gotta keep the PG-13 rating
You're right. They should probably just keep it to
hardcore snow queen homolust rampages.
hardcore snow queen homolust rampages.
>Weiss has to suppress her insatiable lesbianism to maintain a facade of elegance and royalty
>Every time she pushes away gay thoughts/actions, her will cracks a little bit
>Eventually, her psyche cannot handle anymore suppression
>She traps RWY in their dorm room
>Satiates her needs until she's made up for lost time
>This process can take days or weeks at a time
>Once relieved, she reverts to her standard, tsundere self
>The cycle repeats
The Weiss is a strange yet fantastic creature.
Team JNPR was originally intended to be the second team of main characters, so it's not surprising that they still get a good amount of screentime. However, Yang is one of the current main characaters, and wasn't even as well-developed as Jaune in season 1, which was kind of annoying.
And something a little more tame to finish it off.
Your definition of tame is a little different then my own. Still appreciated though.
Also, remember kids, don't
Which is more lewd:
Exhibit B all the way
Holy shit, way too lewd even for /u/ sis
Good payoff face for the burry. Every bully arc needs the payoff face of fear - not guilt, not regret, just fear - so the audience can feel catharsis for the anathema buildup we're subjected to.
>Pyrrha vs Penny confirmed
>Emerald fuckery abounds
One of them isn't making it out of that match alive.
Ruby probably won't either.
White Rose will be too after Merc puts Ruby in a coma and Weiss activates her homorage to save her
On the other hand, Merc is supposed to be undercover so he's probably gonna have to be pretty committed to stopping her, lest the truth gets out. Rubles does have a habit of fighting when she ought to run.
But just think: we're either finally going to see how well Rubles fights without Crescent Rose (which would be great) or we're going to see what could be a pretty phenomenal chase scene. I'm fine with either.
Am I the only one wishing there would've been a little more between Blake and Yang? I mean, this is clearly an important moment for both of them. I wish they would've gotten just a little more time in that scene.
Blake will return to fully comfort Yang that night via
copious kitten cuddles.
>Am I the only one wishing there would've been a little more between Blake and Yang?
Not on my side, blake had 2 seasons for her character arc/growth. This season is supposed to be about Yang and Weiss (and Pyhrra).
This, also Blake was pretty cringe.
>Hey guys, I know that I was a terrorist for most of my life and I had no problem putting a blade to a guy's neck twice, but Yang might have broken someone's leg out of adrenaline and anger, so I don't know if I can trust her!
>Don't worry about me concealing my identity from all of you and sneaking off to fight people alone and being the most secretive student in the show sans villains!
The way it was presented, it was more in cold blood than adrenaline. Blake at least had reasonable cause to threaten Torchwick. And can you really blame her for the secrecy, especially after being teamed with a girl that would watch her die with a smile?
The last time Blake trusted someone, it was Adam, who proved himself to be an unrepentant jerkass whose extreme methods she didn't agree with. Of course Blake's going to have reservations again, especially since Yang's been her partner for a far shorter period of time compared to Adam.
I think a better way to go at it would have been to say she was worried about Yang's anger issues and the way she flips out at things as simple as someone pulling some of her out in a fight, then say the last person she knew with anger issues like that is a fucking terrorist
Side note: I didn't think the way they did it was that bad.
Well then I guess she's gonna run, because last time she fought without her weapon, she got punched in the face, knocked the fuck out, got kidnapped by White Fang, got dragged/pushed around by Torchwick, rode a train that crashed, and had to fight hoards of grimm in downtown Vale. All because she didn't have her scyifle. Ruby should be thinking "well, this is familiar, better gtfo!"
but how awesome would a fully equipped Ruby vs Mercury fight be?
Ruby is less Rose, more pansy around Weiss. That's just the way it is.
unless there's an episode where Ruby actually stands up to Weiss underrating her, and Weiss is just in awe
I'd much rather have Ruby earn Weiss' respect, completely and fully, through her actions alone, not from a one-off argument. If you look closely enough, you can see it's already started to happen.
Don't you think RWBY would be better if the main team were Ruby, Arslan, Penny and Neo?
She is only that gimmicky sort of character because of how she's been introduced and used. With development and a bit of work, she would make a fine and downright interesting protagonist.
>The girl who's semblance is shifting her appearance and the appearance of those around her, born in a rural, superstitious village where unlocking/having aura is seen as something that draws the Grimm, and a semblance is akin to witchcraft. Unable to control her ability when excited or emotionally distraught (especially as a child) she is branded an abomination and sorceress even by her own parents and beaten/abused in an effort to purge her of the dark magic, leading up to drinking some corrosive or dangerously hot concoction that silences her voice forever.
>Emotionally and physically scarred, she is hostile and cruel, pain and violence is the only form of communication she knows, though her nature isn't particularly evil or malicious. The hatred of the Grimm has been beaten into her as well, and she doesn't just fight them, she tears them slowly to shreds without dropping her smile.
You wouldn't want to follow her journey with her teammates as she overcomes her past and slowly learns how express herself in healthier ways, how to hold back while fighting and not just immediately resort to cruel violence, etc?
>something literally every non-grimm being has
That would take a hell of a lot of suspension of disbelief. Also, a village that doesn't believe in aura or semblance that doesn't get razed by the Grimm immediately? If there's one thing the show's narrative tries to hammer into our heads, it's that Grimm are an ever-present threat outside the walls of the main kingdoms/cities. Look at Mountain Glenn.
>That would take a hell of a lot of suspension of disbelief. Also, a village that doesn't believe in aura or semblance that doesn't get razed by the Grimm immediately?
No suspension of disbelief required. Jaune, who comes from a family of warriors, had no idea what Aura was, and had never seen his own until Pyrrha unlocked it. It isn't much of a stress to imagine that people who aren't aware of aura's existence could go through their entire life not witnessing it, and then treat it with fear. If a culture sees something as taboo for a long amount of time, they become resistant to anything else. Let's not forget that there are places in the world that still view evolution with distrust and anger--every living thing on the planet is made up of cells, but do you think the majority of rural villages in the world know that?
ISIS uses twitter while spouting archaic nonsense and killing anyone who won't worship a 1500 year old book based on a 2500 year old book. People are dumb, they will abuse/kill others over the most inane beliefs imaginable.
Villages exist, Qrow's story about the waitress with the short skirt takes place in a "small village in the swamps west of Mistral" that he came across. Vale and Mountain Glenn aren't really the average location, Vale has a lot of people, and that makes it a large source of negative emotion, the Grimm are likely much more concentrated around it than other locations--and remember that it isn't Vale's technology or Aura that has kept it safe--it's the natural defenses of the area. That's why even with the same technology and aura/dust use, Mountain Glenn fell. Being in a small safe valley or bounded by the sea/cliffs/rivers/lakes is probably a lot more of a defense against ongoing Grimm attacks than Aura for most people--especially since I can't imagine the average person would even be able to do much with Aura untrained, certainly not enough to hold back a really serious Grimm attack.
I don't know if I'd go as far as good, but the current volume is certainly pretty okay.
Also my intent wasn't to suggest this be Neo's backstory. It was just an attempt to point out that Neo's character isn't necessarily one that only functions by showing up now and then and being adorably lethal. Given actual depth and some story, the small mute psychopath can easily become an interesting main character, nudged a bit in the direction of questionable upbringing she could easily become a protagonist.
Yeah, this. Either child cruelty or Jaune is literally retarded, the fact that he has his shoes labeled "left" and "right" implies the latter.
He said that his dream was to be a Hunter, it's like a guy whose dream is to be a racing driver wouldn't know what a combustion engine is. Except even worse since Aura gives people literal superpowers.
So why has no one mentioned the most important part of this week's episode?
Velvet's box. Has a camera in it. All this hype, all this mystery,
I was expecting it to have shit tons of dust crystals at first, but then I read a theory that it might have a stuffed Grimm/guardian that fights for her, but no. It might noteven be a combat tote, just a regular one.
That image is goddamn adorable.
Why didn't Velvet or anyone on their team put two and two together
>"Oh coco had a hallucination during her fight with this team
>Yang had one too fighting a member from that team
>battles can sure fuck you up huh?"
Because only the viewer knows the whole story. As far as the characters know, Merc is just a regular dude that can fight pretty good. No real reason to suspect any foul play... until the ending of the latest episode.
Coco saw barely a glimpse of Yatsu. There is a world of difference between checking over your shoulder and thinking that your teammate is there and actually being subjected to hallucinations. Like Ironwood said, adrenaline is a helluva drug.
When something goes wrong the first thing isn't to assume that random superpowers are at play and that there is an unseen evil mastermind trying to fuck with Yang.
If CFVY was close to RWBY it'd be a different story when they'd be actively trying to make sense of everything but right now all they know is that Coco saw a bush which looked just like Yatsuhashi and that the Xiao Long berserker kneecapped a guy for some reason. There just isn't enough data for an outsider to start connecting the dots, hence why Ruby's fortunate encounter with Velvet.
I can't believe nobody is talking about it either, sis. Think of all the lewd things Velvet has caught on camera! Weiss is definitely on film because she's the homo goddess made flesh, the only begotten daughter of the homo goddess. I can't believe I have searched and not have found one picture of Velvet being a voyeur and then later showing Coco what she wants to try out in bed!
I agree with you. I think Mercury and Emerald didn't do anything at first to warrant suspicion either. They acted like they were nice people, from what I could remember. The only ones who would know they were bad would be themselves, Cinder, Roman, Neo, and Adam. Neo can't blab even if she wanted to, Roman has been tight-lipped, and Cinder and Adam would never tell anyone. Side note; Yang looks so cuddly. I bet she gives the best cuddles.
>Yang looks so cuddly. I bet she gives the best cuddles.
The woman is like a space heater but soft and hugs back.
>I agree with you. I think Mercury and Emerald didn't do anything at first to warrant suspicion either.
Yeah, I mean we are asking people to cast suspicion that the guy who was sniffing a boot in an earlier episode is part of some sort of conspiracy.
Right? I bet you could just fall asleep in her arms and it would be like sleeping on the best mattress ever.
>Wilting white rose in the background
I recognize that smut.
>well-written Yang/Ruby fix
>95% of it is smut
still waiting for a Yang/Ruby fic with actual plot and character developement
That's probably one of the more DA-tier ones that was dumped. That said, definitely not enough RubyxCinder art out there anyhow.
There's not enough NeoxRuby art either.
Being a small ship is suffering.
Motherfucker I forgot to change my save settings.
Need to be doing my uni work but I'm too busy looking at RWBY!
Sooo... i've been gone from the fandom for about a year and heard V3 has actually started now (or is it over already?) and i'd like to know if it is worth watching or has gotten even worse than V2.
Any input from you guys?
don't get me wrong, the animations are still shitty, even more so than in the end of V2 but all the complete and utter crap like the forced romance, new cardboard characters around every corner and the roof walking scene are pretty much gone and were replaced with a story i actually kinda like.
i rewatched some earlier fights and when i compare them to the new ones, the latter sometimes feel like stop-motion... considering it was the main selling feature for me when it started that is pretty sad.
Bad times are a-comin', friendos
The hell sis?!
WR outfit swap for your protection
Writefag returned from self-imposed exile here.
Purely hypothetically speaking, if I had two different WR AU stories in mind that I have been mulling about for the year, but didn't get myself to start until now even though I have 3 word pages full of story fluff for each one, Which should I rather start first?
1.Werewolf Hunter Weiss gets the job to clean the forest around a castle from them and gets maid Ruby whose job is to take care of her. (Basically just Ruby and Weiss here)
2. Steampunk Detective Yang gets hired by Weiss to investigate a murder while fresh-in-town-Ruby strings along. Blake is in there too and helps Yang. Evolves into a spy hunt. (WR and BB)
Both of these purely hypothetical stories would have a shitload of world-building too, so either one would take a lot of time to finish.
as long as the werewolf-fic doesn't just end up with the "Ruby was secretly a werewolf herself the whole time" cliché, I'd go with option one.
Well, I didn't plan to be very secretive about it but it's hard to find a better incentive for Weiss to rethink her values to approach the main arc.
Ah, who am I kidding... It'd probably hard to keep that kind of story getting autistic anyway. #2 it is, unless I get any objections.
There are some people who think Velvet's camera can make 3D printed copies of other weapons. Really, it might just be a regular ol' camera, but who knows? It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to believe a camera could be used for combat somehow after seeing some of the more crazy weapons (Oobleck's coffee thermos is a prime example)
That image reminds me of a /co/ story
They did the aftermath of RWBY vs Aliens
Weiss is a mage too and she spends a fair bit of time stabbing people. Conjuring weapons out of nowhere isn't an unheard ability for a mage to have.
CoCo is the only one allowed to bully Velvet
Why does everyone seem to think that this fight is going to turn into Mortal Kombat? Penny is a nice person and Pyrra will pick up on that, therefore she won't let her emotions take over leading to Penny getting torn up. Yes, accidents can happen, such as Pyrra fucking up because of how much metal Penny's made of, but I highly doubt that. When Cinder uses that virus to either assume direct control or just impair her systems somehow, that will be the biggest cause for concern I think. Either way, no matter how emotionally confused and distraught she is, Pyrra would never tear an opponent apart like that, even if she had the option.
I can't wait to see how wrong I am, but I can hold out hope
I think people think either Penny is going to get Cinder-hacked and go ape shit on Pyrrha, severely or mortally wounding her (most likely as it ties into Maiden stuff) or Pyrrha is going to have to tear apart Penny in self defense just to stay alive.
I mean Penny is one hell of a murder bot.
Remember that not even her team, including Ciel, knows she's a robot. Only Ruby, Ironwood, whoever is in charge of the Penny project, and possibly high ranking Atlas officials (like Winter) know Penny's not human.
I just read 55 Minutes and it was actually good.
High school AU's aren't usually particularly interesting but that one really did conflict well. Weiss and Yang fucking hate each other and surprisingly that particular conflict wasn't solved in the span of a single chapter.
Kuma posted WhiteRose
doing lewd things while sleeping together.
That's all we ask of you sis.
She's definitely going to get hacked, there's no question about that. I'm just saying that I don't think Pyrra would willingly tear someone to pieces, even in self defense.
That's fair enough I suppose, but if her designers didn't put any kind of magnetic shielding on her more sensitive bits they were dunbasses
Emerald's Semblance just projects illusions onto one persons mind, she can't control their actions. And there is nothing she could show Pyrra to make her go completely apeshit on Penny like that.
This is the gayest art I've ever seen
And I've seen some gay shit
Good, good, let the yuri flow through you
Pyrrha would only do such a thing on accident, like when she sent Jaune flying to the wall. If it were Penny instead of Jaune, it would be dangerous, maybe Pyrrha could damage some important robot piece.
>Not even spoilering it.
>>Comparing Yang to Adam
>>Then again he could have been through the same illusion shit Emerald did to Yang and Amber and Blake didn't believe him either.
>>If the time comes when they discover Ems powers before they run into Adam then Blake might go running back to him or Sun vs Adam fight over Blake bullshit
Yup, Blake's a bitch. Too bad, I really liked Bumblebee..
And oh fuck I hope Pyrra and Penny don't kill each other! Most likely will reveal Penny is a robot though and have everyone questioning who else is like synths in Fo4 and they go on witch hunts and her dad gets busted.
I still really like Cinder, I can't help it. But I will be pissed if something bad happens to Pyrra or Penny.
>Blake and Adam sneak into train from Black trailer
>Same thing happens
>But Adam is seeing all the roboguards as humans instead thanks to Emerald's semblance
>Tells Blake he will "set the charges" as to kill any of the other humans that
Yeah, on second thought, you're right, this is bullshit. Adam was willing to kill plenty of people on that train, no illusions would make you want to do that spontaneously.
But that's half the point! Turning the convention on its head can make for a good story. Also the idea of Ruby having the energy and curiosity of a puppy is lodged pretty firmly in my mind
You can never have too many tiny Rubies
Different anon here too, but it...grates. part of it is Phyrra's description of him 'not putting her on a pedestal' (iirc, I'm not quoting, just paraphrasing) when that's entirely what he's been doing.
Another part of it is that all the characters are pretty stiff and uncharacterized, so Phyrra and Jaune just neatly slotted into the 'hero & love-interest' roles. Phyrra, especially, is about as flat as Ruby herself.
But, that's just my two cents. I'd need to actually re-watch the show to write a better opinion, I don't remember many specifics any more. Partially because I don't give a damn about RT's favorite, Jaune, so I just kinda blank out whenever he or RT's other favorite are in the picture.
If you're talking about it being canon or what not then I don't know why everyone's so down on it. Yang and Blake haven't even talked to Sun or Neptune or anyone.
Even if the next episode has a random cut to Yang and Blake on het dates with whoever I'd still wager BB would be the second most popular ship.
I haven't been here for a while either so allow me to ask, has it come so far that he has become someone whose name shall not be written?
But yes, Phyrra is basically the same as any template for a mighty, modest, friendly and helpful champion of justice. It's not necessarily bad, just nothing that keeps your interest.
Well... her combat scenes do that because she has essentially 4 different weapons at her disposal but that's another matter.
It's not really come that far, I was just too lazy to type his actual name (yes, even after writing the rest of that), and I didn't want to call him Nep lest I associate him in any way with Nepgear & co.
He hasn't actually done anything significant since the prom, iirc. I think he showed up in the tournament earlier? But that was about it. (again, my memory is shoddy, please correct me if I'm wrong)
I recall a while back someone counted all the fanfic or fanart (maybe both? I'm a bit foggy on the details) and found that White Rose and Bumblebee combined account for more than half of all of them.
Incredibly. RubyxWeiss and YangxBlake are by far the most popular ships, significantly above even borderline canon ones like PyrrhaxJaune and Renora.
Blake seemed to get along very well with Sun (to the point of blushing) last volume and Yang didn't seem to mind in the slightest. Also yang is a huge slut, as shown in the first couple episodes of the show, and Blake was the only member of the team to not immediately trust Yang.
That scene closed with Yang alone and distraught while Blake and Weiss went off to have tea together.
Weiss seems to still be interested in him, she cheered for him during the SSSN NDGO match and then got jealous and angry when he talked to NDGO.
>Blake was the only member of the team to not immediately trust Yang.
I mean she's got reasons but they already basically made up. All three of them, even Yang's sister, left her to be alone. I don't think anything in that scene, of all scenes, does anything to sink the ship so to speak.
I mean I'm not dumb, I know it's unlikely unless they decide to start changing stuff to fit the popularity of the ship, but I don't think the scene after Ironwood leaves means they suddenly don't like each other.
This made me think of something else
>story told from Ruby's point of view
>her thought processes are represented by a group of mini-Rubys in her head of varying appearance and attitude that represent the different facets of her personality
>in Ruby's case they are the seven dwarfs
perhaps arguing about how to best wake up her "snow white"
I'm in the middle of part 2 atm, and I'm enjoying the buildup of their relationship. The thing I liked about Phyrra was that she didn't act like the typical "girl in love" nor did she act completely shy either. She treats Jaune like an actual friend, and respects him/his decisions. Jaune's character is an awful mix of comic relief / stupid but brave hero though, and it's incredibly irritating to watch for some reason.
The shoehorned love interests (neptune/sun) feel extremely boring and terribly plain though. Whilst Jaune and Phyrra seem to actually be explored, both Sun and Neptune seem to be "oh, we need love interests, let's pick one thing to have in common with their partner and just roll with it."
The fact that they made Sun a Faunus is possibly the dumbest decision in the show. Instead of having Blake fall for a human
(Yang)and thus add not only a conflict for both characters (falling for the other race and thus "betraying" their own, as others would see it) but it would also allow them to add weight and significance to the human/Faunus racism, which (up to where I'm at) we've only seen pretty much once, it being Weiss acting randomly racist without any thought (shocking considering she's meant to be intelligent) other than "lolz my dad's company got fucked by some terrorists so obviously I'm gonna shit on my friend whom I JUST found out was fucking hiding her race".
The subject of this board aside, the main reason I hope Neptune and Sun don't end up with any of the main girls is I kind of like them as these two goofy motherfucker side characters.
You might want to at least change one or two of them to more negative names/facets for a better input/reaction, otherwise yeah, I would read something like that.
Boop from the soundtrack is dedicated to Renora for chrissake.
I did some searching on ff.net, RxWxBxY had a total of 1652 fics.
White Rose: 670
The most relevant het pairings are as follows with a total of 399:
White Knight: 36
JaunexBlake (Black Sun?): 33
4, eat shit Neptune
So roughly a 4:1 /u/-to-het ratio. Ao3 has a similar number, interestingly enough it has almost thrice as many Enabler fics and eighteen times as many Sea Monkeys fics as ff.net does. I pastebinned the numbers in case anyone needs them: http://pastebin.com/mXPaRZQH
I don't either, but it certainly shows Blake isn't as trusting of Yang as their scene in V2 had begun to imply, and now we know that Blake and Weiss are comfortable enough together to go out to lunch and the like.
It's less about canon, and more about Blake and Yang now being less close than people thought.
Maybe from Blake's side, Yang was in tears almost instantly.
And I think Blake had forgiven it by the end of their conversation.
Like I just don't see this sudden huge gap between them
Oh right, Black Sun didn't make any sense.
So haven't caught up in a while, ever since /u/ introduced those weird m3u links. Episode 3 was the last IIRC
Have I missed any /u/-worthy moments?
Is Ruby still a side character?
Are the forced het stuff still being shoved down our orifices?
I just checked the site. It is. It looks like Disney just made a bunch of characters that are the children of fairytales and threw them in high school. Basically aimed at young females unsurprisingly.
Surprisingly, there might only be like three dudes? idkThe character sis is talking about is the daughter of Little Red herself. And guess who the father is. Apparently, Red Riding Hood fucked the wolf.
That is rather unsettling. The original fable, depending on the version, either ended with the wolf "eating" her, or her killing it. The story was an allegory for rape.
The woodsman ex machina was added in later.
The whole premise of the universe is the descendents of fairy tale characters have to follow the tale of their ancestor or else. So someone like the wolf girl red riding hood is looked down upon because you are not following the narrative.
If it does we may find ourselves in a strange and unprecedented (to my knowledge) predicament. Waiting for scanlations of an official Japanese adaptation of a western show while ignoring the source material.
New episode today, what are /u/ expecting?
FUCK YOU SIS THAT IS NOT OKAY
How the hell did this season go from "hey, this is actually pretty good" to "fuck your shit" so fast? I've got chills.
Did anyone else love Neo's outfit at the end? She was looking so dapper.
Also, was I the only one crossing my fingers hoping she didn't say anything?
Yep; another one for roleplay night.
Also, world of remnant next week, sisters.
She actually looks pretty tall in this scene. And a lot more menacing.
With this last episode I am actually convinced they have been listening to feedback, so they may have decided to actually keep her mute.
I never thought I'd see the day that it would get interesting.
Took them long enough, but it's finally getting good.
Damn... I want more like this.
Also for some reason I found myself like Winter almost more than Weiss. Perhaps because reminds me a lot of V1 Weiss but more mature and badass. I truly hope we get to see more of her and her nice side as well.
Status: Active. Not for much longer
Oh well, bye bye captain copper clit.
Renaming the file for future uses
A pretty good concept and direction, but two words of advice:
Word variety.That, and spell checking.
Still, it's nice to see new writefags popping up now and again.
Just had a crushing realization after joking about the ep all day.
no more combat ready. No more awkward tackle hugs. No more hiccups after lying. No more adorable freckled ginger robot. No more funny comments. No more penny :'(
>people ACTUALLY think Penny is dead for real
She's a fucking robot, she's the ONE character writers can kill off then bring back to life without it being a complete asspull
>Penny comes back completely rebuilt near the end of V3
>She's mostly the same with a few modifications
>Improved weapons and defense systems
>Reinforced body parts
>And an experimental autonomous intelligence system
>She begins to model more closely human thought and emotion
>Learns of despair, vengeance, determination
>But most important of all
Lust Because who builds a robot you can't fuck, amirite?
I wonder if they're gonna put this shirt on sale
At HALF price
