I don't like that So-Ha Sunbae girl.
She looks even more terrible than that bully Yu-rim girl. Treating poor Ga-yun like a dog, make her wear a dog's collar and barking.
And don't even begin story about "Ga-yun wanted it", obviously girl was indirectly forced to do it, through bullying and "saving", like bad cop and good cop.
But it only makes whole story even hottier.
>>
>>1949314
After skimming some of it, it's not what I expected it to be.
>>
>>1949275
>This person...
>That person...
I considered both, but 'that' person somewhat implies the person in question is at a distance or not involved. Like you're addressing someone who doesn't know you're talking about them, though I suppose you could make the argument that she's intentionally being put down as not being there. Will think about it some more.

>>1949275
>>1949276

I'll go through and make changes later today.

Also, is the proper format for Korean names "Uppercase-lowercase" or "Uppercase-Uppercase"?

>>1949314
Ga-yun does want it though. She talks about wanting to be patted and stuff. Most people don't consider unusual things like this sort of play to begin with, that doesn't mean it's necessarily being "forced" on them. So-ha Sunbae seems to genuinely ask Ga-yun if she'd be willing to be her pet at the end of chapter 3, and Ga-yun seems to earnestly volunteer to do it at the end of chapter 4.
>>
>>1949275
>>1949345 (You)
Oh, nevermind. I see which this person you're referring to. I'll change that.

Also would you mind explaining this a bit more?

>But what does that have to do with you.
>Then

Do you mean that it would read better as "But what does that have to do with you then?"
>>
>>1949345
>Ga-yun does want it though.
When you have only two options, you'll willingly chose the lesser evil as a good choice, as something you wanted. In fact the both options are disgusting. This is very delicate psychological moment.
>>
>>1949378
You're missing the point, which is that Ga-yun, from the beginning, wanted to be pampered and doted on by So-ha Sunbae. So-ha just wants to play up the pet aspect.

That's also a false binary, she doesn't just have two options, and she isn't choosing the pet route because she is afraid of being bullied by So-ha; she is doing it because she wants to be close to and intimate with her.
>>
>>1949345
>>1949367
I was going to refer to it by page number in the pastebin but the imgur one seems like it has different numbering so I just put the corrections as it goes.

>Also, is the proper format for Korean names "Uppercase-lowercase" or "Uppercase-Uppercase"?
Do you mean Ga-yun/Ga-Yun? Then it would be upper-lower.
And sunbae gets lowercase since it's just an honorific, meaning upperclassman.

>But what does that have to do with you.
This one felt out of place/sudden change of tone. Why explain something then suddenly say it has nothing to do with us? If it was something like "it's not relevant to the situation at hand" then maybe.
Anyway, checking the original Korean, it only has "그렇다면" which could be translated to "if so", "well then", "in that case".
>>
>>1949415
>but the imgur one seems like it has different numbering
I started to do it as a single .png, but it became impractical, so I did it as two, both were like 1000x31000 so that seemed still too big and I cut it down to fourths to try and get it to manageable size. I don't really understand how Manhwa pages work, since most seem to be chapters as a single image--and as far as I can tell sites just arbitrarily cut them up into similar sized pages.

>it only has "그렇다면" which could be translated to "if so", "well then", "in that case".
That sounds a lot better, and I agree that whole thing was somewhat awkwardly worded.

It just looks like one long page but it is divided up into small pieces for faster loading. The pages they posted is how it was divided in the original too.

No I didn't miss any points.
Yes it looked like Ga-yun wanted it, but this is the same behavior as 'Stockholm Syndrome', where hostage is psychologically forced to 'cooperate' with criminal because of situation, you cooperating with the criminal or you will die.
There is the same, Ga-yun 'cooperating' with Sunbae, in other case Sunbae can drop her protection and Ga-yun will be bullied until the end of her school life. Trade is simple.
>>
>>1949481
Thank you
>>
>>1949889
That's a pretty massive assumption that seems to be fairly incorrect.

There's nothing to suggest Ga-yun is being at all forced or coerced into liking So-ha Sunbae. She just genuinely likes her. Even when she though she would never see the bullies again, she still went to this school just so she could see her Sunbae.

I don't know why you'd assume it's a case of stockholm syndrome. Falling in love with the person who saves you from bullying is a really standard and frequent trope in romance media. You're reading too much into a psychology that isn't there. Stockholm syndrome is something that develops from continued exposure to a single individual who is your only contact, creating a pseudo-attraction.

Ga-yun was attracted to So-ha instantly after being saved, and has been wanting to be by her side ever since.
>>
>>1949897
>She just genuinely likes her.
That conclusion was made from only your feelings and seems pretty delusional.
True conclusion should be made from logic of human being and the current circumstances. You can't have healthy relationships that begins from bullying, as proofs - a dog's collar and pet play. In my books this is a deviation.
>Even when she though she would never see the bullies again, she still went to this school just so she could see her Sunbae.
This is the consequence of damaged mentality. You can't be a mentally healthy person if you get bullied and beaten for several years. Fear become a main reason.

>That conclusion was made from only your feelings and seems pretty delusional.
No, it's based on Ga-yun's own words and actions.

>True conclusion should be made from logic of human being and the current circumstances.
I agree. And the current circumstances are that Ga-yun seems to have recovered pretty well from her bullying and is out to start a new and happy life, and wants So-ha to be part of it. That is literally what she herself has implied.

>You can't have healthy relationships that begins from bullying, as proofs - a dog's collar and pet play. In my books this is a deviation.
>This is the consequence of damaged mentality. You can't be a mentally healthy person if you get bullied and beaten for several years. Fear become a main reason.

1. Yes, you absolutely can. Most people can work past bullying pretty easily once they are no longer being bullied.
2. You are applying a very narrow realistic interpretation to a fictional work. Do you think that every time a protagonist rescues a love interest from danger, the love interest experiences Stockholm syndrome? We are talking about one of the oldest and most used tropes in the entirety of the romance genre, there are hundreds of romance and manga anime who's plot involves someone being saved from bullying and falling in love with their hero. Why do you think, suddenly, out of the thousands of times that this concept has happened, this one is actually completely different and not really love?

I can't help but feel like you are hung up on misconstrued ideas of what petplay and the collar symbol are about. Much like real (read: Not the shit you see in half-assed pornogrophy) BDSM It has nothing to do with bullying and abuse, and everything to do with a bond created out of trust that helps both parties relieve stress and unwind. There is nothing involved to suggest So-ha is using her power to abuse Ga-yun; hell, So-ha is the one who is being bitten possessively.

>You are applying a very narrow realistic interpretation to a fictional work.
Yes, I do. Because every sane artist creates his work using realistic logic and mechanics (if he uses realistic setting ofc), and his works should be viewed the same way. In other case it become absurd. If I can't predict the simpliest logical processes because there is no real logic - I consider it as the shitty work.
>Do you think that every time a protagonist rescues a love interest from danger, the love interest experiences Stockholm syndrome?
I have never said something like this. I was only saying about that case, because of all circuimstances. One of them is MC doesn't have any friends from her middle school, it makes sense why Ga-yun have seen "a hero savior" in that disgusting So-Ha girl, simply because of no alternative. There is also no So-Ha point of view(I'm on 21 chapter) on that 'saving incidents'. The fact she even didn't remember person whom she is saving tells me that her intentions wasn't to saving anybody at all, it was only an excuse for relieving her agressive bully nature, supressed by her family.
>>
>>1950063
>One of them is MC doesn't have any friends from her middle school, it makes sense why Ga-yun have seen "a hero savior" in that disgusting So-Ha girl, simply because of no alternative.

Which is my whole point. Ga-yun is not being forced or tricked into anything, she is not suffering from some delusion. She sees So-ha as her rescuer, because So-ha rescued her, and wants to be close to her. Whether So-ha is a good person or not is a completely different conversation, the fact is, Ga-yun truly likes her.

You're free to think So-ha is disgusting, but again, I feel like your issue is just that you find petplay disgusting and inherently abusive, so you're attributing a malicious intent to So-ha that just isn't there.

>>1951006
Will work on Ch2 editing later today.
>>
>>1951006
>I'm having a hard time trying to get the logic behind half of the lines.
Either there was a machine translator involved at some point or the translator himself is a robot. No way a living breathing human being looked at those dialogues and thought "yep, that's definitely sounds something like real people would say to each other in an informal conversation".
Not to mention that it doesn't seem very accurate, either.

On a different note, I was thinking about grabbing the raws from Lezhin and cleaning them up a bit, since the amount of artifacts is just godawful. Fucking .jpeg, I swear.
But chapters on Lezhin are split into several smaller images instead of a single huge one. Should I even bother doing this?
>>
>>1951060
I think it's for the best if it's posted on dynasty, that way you could maybe ask for some help if that's necessary.
Don't know how one can post using that tag or if you need to ask someone though prior to that though.
>>
>>1951061
Doesn't take that long. I copy pasted the smaller images for the prologue/1 into a single image, to skip the downloading.

Curious how off the translation for the two English chapters are, since I think TL anon was translating from the Russian.
>>
>>1951111
Kind of want to check (teehee) the accuracy of the translation against the Korean first before we send it to dynasty, though.
>>
>>1951118
>the accuracy of the translation against the Korean
Close enough to zero, imo. As mentioned above, it's an interpretation of the originally inaccurate, partly machine Russian translation. One might as well look at the pictures and make up their own dialogue, with the similar result.
Maybe some Korean-speaking anons will show up and make a thorough QC, but anyway, as it is now, it can't be sent to Dynasty.
>>
>>1951114
>Doesn't take that long.
It's not long, just tedious. Then again, I don't have anything better to do anyway.
I guess I'll start on it tonight.

>Curious how off the translation for the two English chapters are, since I think TL anon was translating from the Russian.
Judging by the prologue chapter (which, I assume, was also translated from Russian), it's not terribly off, but it's not accurate, either. Russian translation has a lot of moments where whatever characters say seems out of place or just plain wrong. Especially so when it comes to slang. It's good that this manhwa consists mostly of simple dialogues, otherwise that mess would've been completely unreadable.
So as >>1951180 said, English translation needs to be proofread by somebody who speaks Korean at least somewhat fluently and is familiar with slang/new fancy words that yong'uns speak these days.
>>

Sorry, I was actually thinking about his other work. The yuri love triangle one that ended with mc cheating on them both and three party melt down with everyone going their separate ways.

>>
Been going through the prologue chapter while de-jpeg'ing the raws, and some phrases still don't make much sense to me. Before I continue, I should add that my Korean is as rusty as a pile of nails left in the open air for several centuries.
Also, I realize that 99% of all problems are with the Russian translation, since this is a translation of a translation.

>I'm just so- nya! Excellent!
That "nya" just came out of nowhere, I don't think there's anything resembling meowling in the original. She just says that she's excited.

>Thank you! A lot!
I think she says "thank [you, ] god".

>Th- the su-
Here's that 1% that didn't came from the Russian translation. Ga-yun says "Coл" as in "Sol", the other girl's name, not as in "coл[нцe]" — "su[n]". One of the major downsides of all-caps fonts is the lack of distinction between proper and common nouns.

>Don't tell me you transferred here because of some middle school crush?
Again, kinda out of nowhere, since Ga-yun never mentioned the reason she transferred there nor did she talk about So-ha. I believe she says something along the lines of "Don't tell me you like [this] school so much", but I'm not sure.

And I think there's something off about that last sentence ("This is... what makes tears flow even harder"), but fuck if I know what is it exactly.
If there's some Korean-speaking anon willing to go through that chapter again, I'd be grateful.

Just wondering, where can one kidnap a Korean-English translator? I promise I'll treat them well.

I wonder how those English translation work. Does Lezhin have a dedicated team? Will the English translation require payment (Korean chapters become available for free every week, with an option to buy new chapters just as they come out for coins)? Only Lezhin manhwa I know that got an English translation is WDTFYS, and from what I've heard, English and Korean chapters have different prices, and buying one does not automatically allow you to read it in another language.

On one hand, I'm happy this has a chance of getting translated. On the other, the thought of throwing away cleaned RAWs upsets me a bit.
>>
>>1969202
It looks like the Korean ones being translated come out in chunks, though I don't know what happens when they catch up.

As for the price, it looks like they go free apparently after a large enough chunk of new chapters has been released, but it doesn't look too consistent.

No one's making you throw away the clean-ed up raws...

Those are Korean (as in, original) ones. Each new chapter becomes available for free a week after it's released, but you can buy them earlier if you're impatient and/or really hate your money.
I'm wondering about the price on English chapters, should Lezhin decide to translate it, because so far their policy on how exactly translation works isn't clear to me. In aforementioned WDTFS, original Korean chapters and translated English chapters have to be purchased separately; buying, say, chapter 4 in Korean won't allow you to read chapter 4 in English and vice versa.
At the same time, there's http://www.lezhin.com/comic/mypleasure (a yuri manhwa by Her Dog's author), where most chapters are also locked and need to be purchased, but its Japanese translation http://www.lezhin.com/comic/my_megumi gets released for free after a while, just like Her Dog.

...Well, that got confusing.
TL;DR: I don't know how Lezhin's translations work and I wonder whether or not Her Dog's translation will be available for free (provided it's going to be translated).

>No one's making you throw away the clean-ed up raws...
There is no point in them if there's an official translation.

On a completely unrelated note, I find this artist's style strangely appealing. Especially the way he draws blushing.
>>
>>1969273
And I was referring to the ones being translated from Korean into English in my post. I guess I wasn't clear enough.

The average price per chapter seems to be either 3 or 4 coins, and they do seem to be released for free after they've both been out for a while and a decent chunk of more English chapters have been released.

So it'll likely be available for free, but it's gonna take a bit.
>>
>>1969282
>they do seem to be released for free after they've both been out for a while and a decent chunk of more English chapters have been released
That "decent chunk" part seems very vague. Some translations have 10 or less chapters in total and are completely free, others have have a bunch of chapters, half of which are still locked despite some of them being a month old.
Why don't they use the schedule thing like they do in some Japanese translations? Seems way easier and more transparent than "we'll just maybe possibly release these some time later".
>>
>>1969297
I dunno. I thought the way they were handling the English site was a bit janky myself.
>>
>>1969297
They might've just unlocked 5 chapters for preview, maybe.

>>1969297
>Why don't they use the schedule thing like they do in some Japanese translations?
What's their schedule there? They might be a bit iffy with the English market. With the Japanese market, they know there's a sure buying audience there.
>>
>>1969766
>They might've just unlocked 5 chapters for preview, maybe.
But the thing is, while English versions generally have 4-5 chapters "unlocked for preview", Korean have 1-2. Which is kinda weird, because it means that simply switching between languages will give you more free stuff, and English isn't that unpopular in Korea that absolutely nobody knows it.

>What's their schedule there?
One chapter for free per week. At least in those that I've seen. Not all Japanese translations have this schedule, though.
>>
>>1969780
>Korean have 1-2. Which is kinda weird
Some of them have 8 chapters free.

>>1969780
>One chapter for free per week.
Some of them have only 2 chapters free then the rest are pay-to-view, not even free. And if we're going by their usual setup, those free-to-view comics get locked/pay-to-view a week after the last chapter is unlocked.

Give it some time. The Japanese site is already around <just> a year old.
>>
>>1969810
>Some of them have only 2 chapters free then the rest are pay-to-view, not even free.
"Some" being the keyword here. Some of them have a schedule, some are pay-to-view. All English translations are pay-to-view only.
