Well, the actress who played Shaw had to leave the show due to pregnancy so it's understandable. But damn did her exit from the show lead to one of the best episodes of the show and created such a fantastic character arc for her other half and not once in every other episode since her "death" did the show forget to remind the viewers of Shaw's absence. Not fucking once. This show is a great example at how to do right with character deaths. Spoilers for the 5th season Shaw is returning as a regular for 8/13 episides (I think). During the SDCC panel this year, it's been heavily alluded by the actresses that their characters are gonna have sex. On screen. Rough sex, to be more accurate. That on the topic of their characters' feelings for one another, it's most definitely love on Root's part and as close to love as it can get for Shaw. They're as canon as a couple can get and some more. I'm going to be sad when this show ends, never have I seen a pairing so loved by its cast and crew, also, a big fuck you to CBS.

I streamed it because no theatre within an hour drive from me was playing it. Since it's oscar nom season the screeners have leaked, so you don't have to watch some god awful camrip with silhouettes and chink subtitles.

I just finished S1 of OITNB and am halfway through season 2 and I agree, this isn't that good. There is way, way too much Larry why do they keep devoting segments of each episode for that whiny shit, he was even in the episode that Piper wasn't in. Not that anon, but to be fair, generic "one story per episode" crime drama routine tends to get very old very quickly. Especially if it's not the first crime drama you're watching, and especially if the routine is very predictable (at least one shootout in each episode, somebody gets disarmed because they're stupid enough to get too close to Reese/Shaw, somebody ends up dead, destroyed kneecaps everywhere, etc.) and doesn't have much to offer in terms of novelty.
Sooner or later you'll end up wishing for more actual plot to come. What makes it more problematic is that PoI doesn't exactly have filler episodes; there's character and plot development in almost every one of them, so skipping episodes completely is out of the question. Unless you're in just for /u/, then I guess none of the above actually matters.
