Both Floki and Athelstan needed to be written out from the show
I loved when Rollo betrayed his brother again but when they were standing on a pile of dead bodies for the war that they caused and close to fight each other Rollo went full emo, dropped his weapons saying "I can't do it brother, I love you"
because look at the size of rollo, you know how hard it would be to train, raise, and feed a motherfucker like that in the Viking age? Rollo is a juiced up, beautiful, carnage inducing machine of an investment that Ragnar cannot afford to lose. The amount of kills Rollo needs to rack up before he has paid off his investment is incalculable to just simply offing him.
>It's a Siniric the transsexual episode
Floki is basically a jihadi. He sees this heretic arrive at his home and gain favour with your leader who then starts to listen to the heretics beliefs, I'm surprised he didn't do it sooner.
So why the hell is the American version both censored and cut down? It's an American programme.
It's annoying because you either have to see spoilers or wait for the uncensored European version to be uploaded.
this show was never even pretending to be historically accurate. in the first season they had vikings pretend like they didn't know england existed and the fucking catholic church and english kings acting like the roman empire was a myth
Just started to watch the show last week.
Why is Floki the only one with a scandinavian accent on the entire cast?
Who /floki/ here? In my town there's a lot of Christians so I can act out this persona
>hear people talking about God or Jesus Christ
>walk over to them and stare at them silently
>make visible signs that I'm upset
>normies get scared shitless or uncomfortable and they go elsewhere
Don't be talking about other Gods near me you fucking normies
Am I the only one who has trouble believing this guy is a Viking warrior?
You've got to be shitting me.
>it's a floki punches manlet repeatedly episode
At this point you should honestly be grateful they aren't introducing some alpha nigger to rail lionfu
>the fucking catholic church and english kings acting like the roman empire was a myth
No, that was just the uneducated commoners and nobles.
But the Norsemen not knowing about England or Scotland is just absurd.
/r/ing the vocaroo where the guy says floki has autism and he reassures him that it's just cuckoldry.
nah, it wasn't just commoners not knowing who built some ruins
it wasthat one english king acting like they couldn't talk about the roman empire because it was sacrilegious or something
> its a Princes Gangebang gets quadrupled episode
> why is there a chinese character in western europe prior to the 16th century
Trade along the Silk Road across Asia waxed and waned throughout history but never stopped completely, so while it’s not very likely an Chinese girl to be in Europe at the time, it also not impossible for a Chinese person to have made their way to Europe at some point in the 9th century, more so for a q.t. Chinese slave girl.
Though of course the network is doing it both for politically correct reasons and to bring in the Asian market.
As you said, very, very unlikely, but not impossible.
No one travelled the entirety of the silk road. People would take their goods a couple of days/weeks down the road, sell it, and then someone else would sell them further down the road for a higher profit, and so on.
Thanks, man. They're really keeping her under wraps, there are barely any pics of her to be found and none from the set of Vikings (except for anon's up thread).
>People would take their goods a couple of days/weeks down the road, sell it
I'm guessing Chinese QT's back-story will be that she was enslaved somewhere back East and traded along the line until she ended up in Europe.
I remember a very short clip in HBO's "Rome" that showed a couple of Indian (dot, not feather) slave girls in the background.
Why a halfie looking actress.
Why not go full chink?
She will undoubtedly be ragnars new love interest.
michael hirst has been qouted saying he asked historians if it was possible for her to be a character, seems like they said so.
mb we see some slave service dancing
>The show doesn't cast niggers whatsoever
>Keeps true to Viking cast
>Kike Vulture Overseers walk into the studio and call for diversity (aka brown people)
>Based Viking Director casts every white man's fetish instead
>/tv/ still complains
>Doan explained that Yidu was originally kidnapped on the Red Sea, where she was then brought to Paris as a slave. The foreigner remained in the French city until Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and his sword-wielding fighters successfully conquered Paris during the show’s third season. Yidu was then captured by the pagans and brought back to Kattegat, where she kept her slave status.
Am I the only one that gets autism ticks when there is a big fight happening and "your" side takes little to no casualty?
I haven't watched the entire season but during that first fight on the beach I couldn't atom baka
And The Last ship is just insanely horrible in this regard too
Because he's the only Scandi. He's the son of Stellan Skarsgard.
>Ragnar - "What is this Koooun Fooough my slanty slave? Can you eat it?"
>"Your Bouda sounds a lot like Athelstans God, he was a good friend."
>Ragnar phases out and rapes miss chink because his homo-erotic grief of losing mr priest is still there
> it's a 'stuck up french princess tries to act like she is disgusted by rollo but was really wet as october when she saw him shirtless on the ramparts slaying nerds left and right' episode
I was wondering if during Harbard's episode we were supposed to treat Princess Aslaug and Helga as unreliable narrators (they were trying to save the grace of Siggy with it) but the show wasn't going for that (despite having great potential to go with this and unexpected, since tv-series rarely feature unreliable narrators)
It'd been extremely neat.
Yeah, just like there's only one Rollo. Obviously.
No, you stupid faggot. Vikings features famous heroes from the sagas and recorded history. The recorded Floki? Boat builder and sailer. Couldn't be the same guy, right?
>>tfw no qt3.14 shield maiden waifu
>it is not impossible
the chances of his happening are very slim
it is very obvious she is in there for "muh diversity" which I expect the asian market will find insulting, she is there for the liberal western crowd who like to believe they are sticking it to the racists by forcing the same overdone cliche into every movie and tv series
>there's a character who's a princess called Arse Lick
You'll just have to find out how she is written. I never expected historical accuracy from this show, so if she is introduced and played out in a non-grating manner it's really all the same for me.
He should have dropped disliking Applestans by season 3 or at least come to terms that Ragnar was going to be best buds with a Jesus monk, but instead they cranked his hateboner for the guy by 300%. It didn't make any sense why his entire characterization boiled down to (I HATE PRIESTS), which made everyone around him, even the fucking audience, hate him.
The writing in season 3 fucking bombed the le quirky Viking weirdo we came to know and love.
Seriously I fucking pop a vessel just thinking about it.
Ragnar was fine but everyone else did nothing of interest besides die or pretend to die.
This season would have a lot better if it focused entirely on fighting the English armies instead of making it look like a joke. There could have been a built up of the French being an even greater threat, and it ends on the cliffhanger of Rollo getting captured by the French
That way we'd have an entire season for Ragnar and friends to fight Paris, not just half of one
I agree with
>Ragnar was fine but everyone else did nothing of interest besides die or pretend to die.
I also hated how cheap it felt to have Ragnar not die at the end after such great arc for him. Cheapens it a bit.
Show's at its best when its focusing on Ragnar's never ending curiosity.
Does it bother anyone else how everyone speaks English? I know they do it for audience convenience but I wish they had made anyone that wasn't a viking speak in different languages and have it subtitled
Because they have found Jade Buddha statues among buried items in Viking graves.
So naturally Michael Hurst said "Oh, I'm going to bloat Ragnars harem by one more woman, because evidence."
I know you probably arent versed in history super well so ill explain why
As much as I agree with you about everything you said, Floki literally discovers Iceland. Like in actual our universe history.
This show is going to continue after Ragnar dies apparently and they want to set up the whole Floki finding iceland and beginning the last bastion of Odinism
This season is going to REALLY focus on the conversion of vikings to Christians, mark my words
Is actually a true story of Bjorn!
>After Rollo sacked Paris, Bjorn becomes a great viking chief himself
>Sets out to lay waste to FUCKING ROME
>Comes upon a great city along the Tiberis river or whatever river leads to Rome
>It isnt Rome but hes never seen such a beautiful or wealthy city
>Cant break in
>Pretends to die after converting to Christianity
>Literally does the exact thing Ragnar does
>Goes back to his homeland as a fookin legend as the man who conquered Rome and dies a rich man of antiquity
Iceland wasnt known about mate.
This show is going in all directions soon
>The Great Pagan Army which annihilated northern UK so hard that its why scottish people have red hair
>The discovery of Iceland by Floki, starting the great transatlantic explorers
>Maybe well even be lucky enough to see some new character take over and see them fight native americans in America, because all viking records of that conflict show that its brutal as fuck
Get on the goddamn hype train
>show is objectively 50 times better than Game of Plebs and with a budget 100 times smaller
>Keeps fairly decent accuracy for a history piece that stars someone that literally could just be a myth
>Sets up like 4 events that actually happened in real life and you complain
You fucking tards dont know history for your life
>She tells them all about the BLAUMEN (muslims)
>Tells them how to get to their trading routes
>This leads to an arc where Bjorn will eventually go to the Middle East/ meditarranean region WHICH ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN REAL LIFE
I don't get why your baseline comparison is one of the worst television shows out there. It's not helping your argument when you say 'I have no standards'
>Happened in real life.
None of this happened in real life in the way they try to depict them happening though?
>They didn't actually wear horn helmets, you autist.
True, the helmets weren't horned, they were.Vikings were actually a breed of demon that was wiped out by christian monks. I saw this on ancient aliens.
well when you use that picture, no. In the show, it's pretty believable to me. The dude is a fuckin savage. Although, I didn't know his work prior to the show, so I'm a little biased I suppose.
No, but they wore lots of chainmail and colourful tunics, you memeing fuck.
