Cyber Leader is a literal dickhead edition
Reminder that /r/DoctorWho ranks who!
Poll 1 (main):
Poll 2 (misc.):
Polls close on the 6th of February but this may change
The story is gonna be set in Hexford. I wonder if they'll mention miss Wibbsey again.
>I freely admit that much of my antipathy towards Big Finish is the belief that I could do a better job. Equally, I'm right about that.
Would you want SandiferFinish?
To be fair, Sandifer would probably want to do really ambitious and original weird shit with Big Finish, which would generally be vastly better than the Briggs/Dorney/Fitton fucking clone army.
Tobbe fair, Dorney does try to do original stuff. Listen to his Companion Chronicles (especially The Rocket Men). Don't discard him just because he's one of the writers that BF uses a lot.
As for Sandifer, his will to do new things is not in question. His ability as a script editor is.
And I get the feeling Sandifer would get in a fight with some of the cast members over politics at one point or another. I still remember his beef with Colin Baker over the DWM thing, and I don't think either would simmer down from that confrontation.
So I was on the twatter and got this link to a nifty little video from an ancient blue peter episode, where they make cute and i do mean CUTE dalek kakes. 4chin thinks i'm spamming or advertising whenever I post think link, but if you're interested here's the back end of the link
BBCArchive/videos/155862858120086. The front end of the address is facebook dot com.
I've looked on the youtube for the same video to no avail, my apologies.
I have fantasies sometimes that /ck/ will come to /who/ one day and expand my /who/ confection skills so I can make something other than strawberry cybermen and blue frosted cupcakes.
RTD said in The Writer's Tale they wanted to "starve" the public so that ratings would not go down because of everyone taking Doctor Who for granted.
It had the opposite effect, completely destroying all momentum gained with Series 4. Bravo Rusty.
So I was just thinking about Bloodtide and was wondering, I don't think it would work as good with the new silurians but I may be wrong. Which Silurian design do you guys prefer the classic or new?
I don't think anybody's ever liked the new ones more. Giving them human faces and tits makes no sense whatsoever, and a lot of the interspecies drama works better when they're physically unalike.
Oh jesus I never really thought about the whole Jenny and Vastra thing, but if they were the classic design that would be fucking disturbing... Especially now that I know They eat humans.
>I don't think anybody's ever liked the new ones more.
Jon Pertwee probably would've prefered the new ones.
And while they may not have the tongues the new Silurians have, I'd imagine those lips would give a decent trouser kiss.
>/r/DoctorWho ranks who!
Are you kidding? Did someone post this over there? The polls were supposed to be about how the episodes rank among /who/. I don't give a fuck what a bunch of casual NuWho fans have to say about it. Way to ruin it, faggot.
I'm sorry anon i tried to make a funny but i only fucked it up for everyone
Will /who/ be watching DC's Legends of Tomorrow™ ? It features /who/'s favorite centurion, Roronicus. Playing a quasi TimeLord, known as Rip Hunter.
I like Arthur darvill a lot but I literally can't watch American television like that. More than 13 episodes a season is an instant "never watch" for me. I don't have the time, and shows that long are always bursting with filler.
I thought so, but that kind of thing is like clickbait crack for me. Seeing them makes me sad that we'll never have a /who/ meet I can make them for. ;_;
I'll probably just check out the first couple episodes myself desu just to see Arthur. I'm not wildly into the comic book stuff(too daunting a lore). I'm with you on the filler bit. The only things that I watch over 13 episodes a series is like sitcoms like Brooklyn 99, where any arc is secondary to the hi jinks of the week, or like non-fiction shows id est Real Time w/BM or like the late late show w/CF when it was still on.
No - and hey, the really funny thing is I never said American television was shit! I said I can't watch it and that long seasons burst with filler! You made the shit bit up!
X-Files has some very strong episodes but you're deluding yourself if you don't think it's bursting with filler - and no, I don't mean non-mytharc episodes, I mean filler, just absolutely average episodes there just to make an episode.
Are you legitimately implying 24 is a great show? Jesus, if you wanted to get on my goat about American television you could have mentioned actual great shows like Mad Men or the Sopranos - not fucking LOST or 24.
...The Sopranos is not shit. Mad Men is on a whole other level than LOST which was the very definition of a "tune in next week!" serial. And having a "based" actor doesn't make a show great.
Both the UK and the US have great shows but that anon is clearly right that US shows have more filler. That's indisputable. He's off the mark dismissing all US television, but you can't seriously argue most US shows aren't full of filler.
They were mostly shit though. Classic has some absolute 'classics', but most classic serials were either decidedly average, or legitimately bad.
Not like New Who is some masterpiece, but the average episode is much better. It's a very well-crafted show now.
Big Finish is like Classic Who; more bipolar. Some masterpieces, some absolute shit. New Who is generally at least "pretty good", with a few masterpieces and shithouses a year.
Aw, very sweet anon! Damned plate tectonics. Maybe one day we can all sign on with our rift devices and go on an adventure in time and space together. Until then there's /who/, and I'm happy to meet you here until then.
Just those and the aforementioned tardis blue cupcakes and a couple with a crudely drawn tardis. I think i might try try the Dalek sandwiches and cakes I liked above sometime though, with the exception of the walnut thing, as I have no idea what the hell it is. The next time i make the strawberry cybermen I think instead of molten chocolate for the faces ill use nutella or icing, and maybe hollow them out and fill them with chocolate too if im feeling like a fat ass bitch. Maybe make a cybercontroller one with a strawberry brain, idk. I'll post pictures if and whenever I do. I've got a Bday coming up so the cakes are the most likely.
Oh or oatmeal with raisin for the zygon maybe?
like finger/tea sandwiches cut and staked to resemble the shape of a dalek, with capers for the dalek bollocks and eyestalk. The the dalek sandwich is pictured on the right.
Some kind of edible flower or berry that comes in jars here in the states. I think it said they used a half a maraschino cherry for the plunger bit. The pic is a screen cap from the video i posted earlier itt. >>65083436
So why haven't you read this yet /who/? It has pirates and middle-eastern myths and dead kids, it's a fun time for the whole family

We're finished, /who/.
I mean I'll chat here, but nobody is bringing up anything that interesting. Just asking if Lungbarrow will get an adaptation and shitposting. Don't act like the thread is dying because nobody comes here, it's because nobody is saying anything interesting.
Whether she missed Matt being The Doctor. She worked with him for half a series 3 years ago and still every other question she gets is about working with him. Peter barely gets mentioned.
Fringe was great. If you think about it, it's the UNIT era only more willing to be overt in its psychedelic influences.
It was already basically over after three seasons, four and five were just gravy.
On the topic, I always thought the Doctor would make for a great guest star on the X-Files, seeing as he's a shapeshifting alien who works with an international conspiracy of military intelligence agencies and frequently kidnaps young women who are sometimes never seen again.
So, I listened to Part 1 of pic related last night. Always heard it was the greatest thing ever, so I was pretty excited to reach it in my Main Range listen-through... and it's good, but I don't see why it has this all-time classic status. It's pretty similar to other "creepy mansion" stories. Without spoilahs, do things get GOAT in the next 3 eps?
What's the essential Ecclestone-core outside of Doctor Who?
What's the essential Tennent-core outside of Doctor Who?
What's the essential Capaldi-core outside of Doctor Who?
I'm not going to ask about Smith because he's done literally nothing except Terminator and Call Girl as far as I'm aware.
For Smithcore you want Ruby in the Smoke and its sequel (also containing Billie) and Womb (with Eva Green), please note I have no idea if any of these are actually good although the former is based on novels by Philip Pullman.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT POLL
24 is remarkably consistent all the way through. Later seasons are arguably weaker but they're still solid. X-Files was a hit and miss kind of show from the start, and got to the point where it just wasn't worth watching.
Novel Adaptations (especially Damaged Goods), Fifth Doctor boxset, The Last Adventure, maybe some CCs.
Jago and Litefoot have been consistently good, but I wouldn't call them "essential", just nice extras if you happen to the characters.
People seemed to like Diary of River Song.
The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield (both)
5th Doctor box set
6th Doctor Last Adventure
Vienna, Jago & Litefoot, Dark Eyes, and the FDAs have been pretty great
First Doctor Companion Chronicles
monthly range soft reboot starting with #201
Confessions of Dorian Gray
Oh well, I probably have none unless it's self serving.
Pretty sure they don't get rid of costumes just because the designer left.
It says on Wikipedia he's 81, is that right or has he turned 82 now?
Either way, happy birthday Tom! What a bloody legend.
I remember if it was on here or reddit (I know) but someone said something that I liked. The 12th doctor was saying how the bowtie and stuff was silly, but never said anything bad about Sixie's coat so maybe while he thinks the bowties and long scarfs were a bad choice he still thinks the Rainbow coat was a good choice. And then someone said if Capaldi wears his coat inside out it is rainbow and plaid stuff like Six.
82 according to google. That book is mentioned in the little blurb about him on google. I'm currently looking for it as I know what i must read today.
It's odd seeing something you made posted so frequently seemingly out of nowhere.
Maybe we should make him a card?
1st time using gimp and with complete lack of creative ability. plz no bully.

Are you looking forward to Ten being redeemed by Big Finish, /who/?
Well with big finish it will be 100% less teeth so, a marked improvement. High hopes friend.
Nice. I love DW related apparel, and probably the worst kind of fan because of it.
"He's feeding the pigeons! Stop him!"
"YOU stop him, Sergeant, I'm not going near that."
You should start a thread on /qa/ about it.
He has other works that are in front of a camera or on stage so he has to keep up his appearance. Unlike poor Baker, whose live appearances are mostly reality TV, so it doesn't matter.
It's also why Mark Hamill had to improve his appearance when getting in front of the screen again instead of voice acting.
You can show up in your PJs to a session if you want, unlike stage or camera acting.
>Nyssa was captured wearing underpants
Oh Lord. This is gold.
Honestly can't tell if this is a true article or not.
There is now. Get it while it's... hot?
I've added a paragraph about this:
But can't seem to cite it/make the reference work. Help?
Why is there no black doctor yet?
I feel like they're not representing a large portion of the population with their complete lack of diversity.
Could we start a petition to the BBC to get multiethnic doctors?
Is that Ten cosplayer staring at the TARDIS' tits?
BBC knows most of their audience is racist and wouldn't support diversity in their doctor. Until we can confront and abolish our white supremacy and inherent racism, we will never advance as a society.
>Here we can see the native Niggicus Ghettocus participating in its dominance ritual
>Don't get too close now, they can be quite dangerous
>No worries, we are safe behind this glass shield unless they notice us
