Well, The Good The Bad and the Ugly is a staple. Anyone who is really into westerns has to go with that, or Once Upon a Time in the West, or both.
Like me.

If you're fishing around for a good one I highly recommend The Revenant (2015).

Just saw this last night and can't remember a more brutally depicted story, environment, or life in general for a character(s), in a western, or most other realistic genres.

It's fucking a seriously harsh view of what life must've really been like (albeit in some still watered down sense, but closer than most), but a blessing for those of us who really enjoy a well told, directed and acted tale. Western, or otherwise.

Dicaprio does not disappoint in the lead role.

No explosions, robots, or sexy alien broads, so kiddies should probably skip it.

Yeah, this is now a favorite as well.

Lastly, I rarely ever come to this board (even though I should probably spend every day here), but I just wanted to tell you guys how good this was.

Scenes before that, Gene Hackman's character says its not about accuracy, but keeping a cool head. Clint was, they weren't. If you watched the movie & can actually critically think, the sheriff & all the deputies were bullies & scared pussies. That's why they missed, that's why Clint was able to gun them all down.
