I saw the screen testing of "The Rugrats" and alot of scenes weren't colored, as well as a bunch of songs weren't in it.

So i think the main plotline to the film is the people in the bunker where took down there in all the chaos of the destruction of the city with Clover. Or the big guy knocked them both out and placed them underground to protect them etc

They both escape and see the destruction of the city.

Maybe they are somehow connected to the characters in the first movie like friendship/family wise?

Really looking forward to seeing more of Clover and maybe we will get more background on the monster and where it originally came from.

The concept is great, people around the world working together to hunt for clues to solve a big puzzle and getting backstory.

I know the Halo 2 one involved people finding co-ordinates in puzzles that ended up being payphones and you had to be there for a set time to receive a phonecall that was a pre-recorded message and this happened all over the world.

Slusho was the reason the main character had a party for him thrown, the reason he's moving abroad, the reason his girlfriend was fighting with him and why she wasn't there/he needed to find her.

It's called World Building/Lore. It made a more credible and engrossing experience, because followers of the ARG were already invested. the movie was pretty much a big epic payoff to their detective work. Not everything has to be explained and spoonfed to you.

Also, it'd make more sense for the freaky parasites from the freaky monster to have some sort of freaky bacteria in their mouths, like it all comes from an completely unknown eco-
system, and the bites cause cause an explosive reaction due to the bacteria behaving differently because of the heat and lack of pressure on the surface (coupled with mammalian biology) acts as sort of stimulant.

That way they could keep that cool explosive gimmick and add another threat to the mix, making it so humanity is being attacked on 3 major levels: infrastructure, physical, and biological - an apocalyptic scenario if I ever saw one.
