Fuck that shitty reddit tier poll jk i love it
wtf that doesnt even look like a light sabre! why would anyone make this?! doesnt even follow the construction rules of a light sabre! the crystal is supposed to be on the inside! wtf?
How does big finish make money? Does anyone actually go back and buy some random audio story that they did of peter davison in 2004? I like their stuff but how do they not lose out from inflation of their own products?
It's not a lightsaber, it's a sonic screwdriver. It's a tool the main character of Doctor Who uses.
It's an understandable mistake. If I saw that thumbnail on page one I'd probably just assume this was a Star Wars thread too, but maybe check the OP before posting next time.
But really, who actually pays to listen to that other stuff? The doctor who stories are cool because it does the impossible and nostalgically brings backs the old stuff without it being grandpa's big adventure. I don't understand the appeal. I know they're afloat and making some kind of money and it just doesn't make sense to me even though I know it all logically works out.
There's always at least a few people on /who/ talking about mediocre early main range stuff every week, so I'm sure there are some people out there paying for random older releases,
>Does anyone actually go back and buy some random audio story that they did of peter davison in 2004?
Some people do, but either way it would be retarded of them to stop selling the older ones. It's not really costing them anything to keep them up and it still gives them potential income.
The company isn't relying on their old audios for income, they make all their money by selling the new stuff. Seriously just think about it and use that same logic on other companies. Fox doesn't sell old Family Guy dvds anymore but they are doing just fine.
Eps 1 and 2 are up
HYPE BASED PIRATE ANON
how do you feel about series 8 and 9 pirate anon? did you like them?
Clara seemed to change more than the Doctor. Season 9 not in 1.85:1 so no wasted screen real estate. Dalek Kan seemed to predict their becoming "the hybrid" and accelerate the process to make it happen with 10 and Donna. Memory wipe was a bummer but good parallel to the earlier situation.
Better than having some whimsical faerie story theme like a lot of 11's run. Callbacks to almost all former Doctor personalities from Capaldi.
>Clara seemed to change more than the Doctor.
I thought 12 changed a lot. Plus i'm sure the new companion will bring out some new stuff with him. Thanks for replying though. I missed you and your sexy classic who rips. <3 no homo.
Reminder that /who/ ranks who!

The Isos Network was a p good time tbqh
People talk about how Briggs always writes the same stories; can anybody direct me to his other stories where the Doctor rides giant slugs into battle for two hours
What's happening this year with Capaldi and the series?
A friend just told me unironically that this is a great scene. What do?
never noticed it before
It's not a matter of him reusing ideas, it's how everything is deliberately constructed to be like an average Sixties story and nothing more. The basic plot owes a lot to Tomb of the Cybermen, with some things from The Invasion and, yes, giant slugs thrown in.
I don't have a problem with a bit of nostalgia, if it's done well, but the sheer lack of a will to do anything new from Briggs is disturbing. Even Colin's regeneration story was oddly similar to The Ultimate Foe. And it's not just about him, he's just the worst representative of a trend that has taken over most of BF's current production.
Almost everything last year was about nostalgia.
Are you nostalgic for the E-Space trilogy? We've got Five fighting Marshmen and entropy! Nostalgic for season 15? Listen to our new Four/Leela stories attempting to pretend they're from the Seventies! Nostalgic for season 24? God only knows why you would be, but we've got a Seventh Doctor trilogy that tries to sound like it's straight out of the Eighties for you! Nostalgic for season 10? Listen to The Defectors and our new Third Doctor Adventures! Nostalgic for the Troughton years? Have Last of the Cybermen and some Early Adventures! Or are you nostalgic for the New Adventures? Why don't you listen to our new range of adaptations, and our boxset with 7, Ace and Benny! Big Finish, Classic Doctors, Brand Old Adventures!
Now, I'm not saying that those stories were all bad, there's a lot of good in there. But the amount of nostalgia pandering out this year was insane. It wasn't like this just a few years ago. What caused BF to go this way?
I kind of liked the Slitheen episodes. There was some good ideas behind them but the execution didn't take it seriously enough and the direction was just way too OTT. I agree with you though that they're probably some of the worst of the revival though.
>Nostalgic for the Troughton years? Have Last of the Cybermen and some Early Adventures!
Yeah RTD definitely had problem with the camp. I'm all for fun ideas but sometimes he just went a little too far.
>"Yeah, my character runs off with Clara, to new adventures. Who knows when she'll come back? Well I know, but I'm not telling you. *winks*"
Fuck this she really is returning then. Fuck you Moffat.
Yes, most of them were at least OK. It was an improvement over 2014. But you aren't going to make the new Chimes of Midnight or Death in the Family by just aping the classic series.
I don't get why this trend started. BF seemed to be doing fine for more than a decade without resorting to this much nostalgia.
Briggs wasn't bad for the first few years, he started some great ranges, like the Companion Chronicles (which aren't very nostalgic, despite dealing mostly with early Doctor Who) and New Eighth Doctor Adventures. He also gave us some really good years of Main Range (2010 was as good as any year from the Russel era, apart from 2003, and it had some quite ambitious stories).
>New Year's costume party
>some faggot nerd comes dressed up as 11
>with a fucking toy sonic screwdriver that makes the noise when he pressed the button
>he gets drunk and starts buzzing it in everyone's ears all evening
what is it today that is right it is the new torchwood audio drama from big finish productions that is called uncanny valley and is from the torchwood flavour of big finish and you can download it if you are a piece of shit pirating scumbags and once you have downloaded it you can put it on your phone or if you like on your computer and listen to it through a headphone or speaker and honestly you should kill yourselves when youre done listening to it because you are all worthless human beings that are personally destroying the company that is called big finish
I think he doesn't look that bad, because we know it's all over now. Like an unfortunate period in our lives we can now laugh at and maybe even appreciate parts of it, but was source of great worry and unpleasantness when it was present.
Jesus Christ will you stop running my Matt is dead meme? See that's not the creator of the meme who's to blame, it's the retards who keep misusing it all the fucking time. He was killed three times already in this thread alone. Give it a fucking rest.
> redditors who love her crooked teeth
who wouldnt love her crooked teeth
it seems planet mondas didnt like my constant trolling and 5 alt accounts
they very rarely ban people so this is a pretty a big achievement for me
7 was the only Doctor who looked better with shorter hair.
The mad man is actually gonna do it isn't he? well /who/ we had a good run...
hey, i may be a shitposter, but i'm not underage or a spammer like that fucker
that's part of the cats12 act, anon
glad it's so convincing
Why hasn't Steven Hall written more BF? He'd have a field day with the Time War stuff.
>it's a Briggs, Fitton and Dorney do everything episode
He's busy with his own TV show, apparently.
At least once he'll have some TV work on his resume he will be able to write for TV Who.
>tfw he didn't play the War Doctor ala pic related.
Good, I guess. He probably ain't shit compared to the holy John Hurt anyway.
I honestly can't tell much of a difference between him and the other two. I don't thin Hall is all that great, either - all the Word Lord stuff is great conceptually, but he ends up basically being a rote villain with an overpowered gimmick based on really mundane wordplay. I think ...Ish is much more fun and satisfying to listen to.
Has anyone tried to cop a feel on Jenna? To see if her ass is really that soft
Jesus, she's huge. I should add a bit about her transitioning to the doompasta.
Also, this reminds me a bit of that whole weird thing with the New Dalek Paradigm being the result of a redesign to make the Daleks eye-level with Karen Gillan instead of Billie Piper, but if that's the case, jesus, how huge Karen must be.
>Billie will never break your dick off with her bare hands.
Did she lift a few weights before the convention? When did she get so man-ish?
>that whole weird thing with the New Dalek Paradigm being the result of a redesign to make the Daleks eye-level with Karen Gillan instead of Billie Piper.
I remember that. Was there any truth to it or was it just a myth? I'm pretty sure that Amy was never seen standing next to one of those new Daleks on-screen.
>I think i'm very lucky that Jen was there when I came along because she gave me such a great welcome but is also incredibly supportive and is a star. She's a wonderful, wonderful actress and a wonderful person and that helped make my doctor.
Why haven't you read Lance Parkin's fanfic script about Capaldi and Clara fighting Eternal Dalek and its Buddhist Dalek followers, /who/?
And why are we still paying Mark Gatiss for his dull shite?
One thing I wasn't expecting was the Torchwood audios being the highlight of the New Series stuff. And yet, it happened. This was yet another really good offering from the range. Maybe Torchwood was always better suited for audio.
I liked them, though I'm currently stopped at the one with Torchwood One director. But it's not Torchwood. It's just some sci-fi narrated by the guys who were once on Torchwood.
Perhaps Torchwood was never good to begin with, but Big Finish did not salvage it, they just produced generic sci-fi under its name.
The arc is about a huge political conspiracy orchestrated by aliens, seems Torchwood stuff.
Maybe it will feel more like the TV series once Gwen resurrects Torchwood, since that's apparently what her stories are heading towards.
Not really. This was never Torchwood stuff. Not even Children of Earth.
You get entire story dedicated for sneaky space capitalists and it just doesn't quite measure up to children-smoking stoners or all that weird Torchwood S1&2 crap.
It's not a criticism of BF's Torchwood per se, it's just I don't feel it is "Improved Torchwood". It is something else.
Come on. /who/ doesn't end because the Mod dances.
Children of Earth/Miracle Day don't feel like Series 1-2 either. Big Finish has just been moving further in the direction established by those two seasons (large scale political conspiracy mixed with just a touch of aliens/SF stuff) and away from the early stuff.
Children of Earth was a grimdark tale of stoners from outer space and Miracle Day, well, wasn't good in almost any way, but it still did feature gay love story complicated by immortality and a man who killed himself in the climax so he could rape children in hell.
I'm not saying it's bad or something, just that it doesn't feel Torchwood for me. It's obviously subjective.
There's an explosion behind them and they're laughing? What's the context? (Love these shoops btw)
sure dude. heres my fav/hottest jenna pic.
spoilered for size and also cos its NSFW.
Oh shit, looks like Series X might hold some truth.
>Redesigned console room said to appear in Series X announcement
Why would they post this?
Spoilered because NSFW.
People escape from a huge fireball after an accidental explosion at a petrol storage facility at former US residential housing in Mogadishu, the Somalia capital

That's the only one I have, and I made it. 10,000 hours in photoshop. Some anon posted this exploitable .png and several were made. I thought I made a few more, and saved a couple but I cant find them anywhere.
Why did it have all the typewriters and shit bolted to the console, though? It would make sense if he cobbled it together from junk like the one in Doctor's Wife, but it came like that from Day One.
Reminder the current Tardis is objectively the best and comfiest Tardis.
Why does 12 have the doctor who logo in one of his rooms?
your picture looks awful m8
>and why is it objectively paul mcganns?
Because it's huge and aesthetically beautiful, but it's also cluttered with books and other stuff the Doctor picked up, which, coupled with the wooden look, makes it feel more warm and cosy than any other console room. And because the scanner projects stuff in 3D over the whole ceiling.
10/10 would travel in as a companion.
Oh. My. God.
How have I missed Big Finish? I mean, I've never actually been fond of audiobooks, I preferred reading books yet I never got into Who books either, any recommendations?
But Big Finish, holy shit. This is amazing, I've started with The Eight Doctor Adventures now and I'm loving it, after I'm done with this I'll probably go with Fourth.
What are your favorite Big Finish?
obviously the Hartnell one was a full set the one used in Hell Bent is the DW experience reconstruction which is not a full one like the Coral one of the 50th....
Well apologies then
Good for you anon
but please don't post that shit i'm eating
>It's a Jack and Ianto have a gangbang in the Hub with the guys from Blacked.com episode
>mfw the only reason he took the role was an elaborate con to get his bum on pre-watershed
How's it going, /who/?
I've been working my way through rewatching my Troughton-era DVDs in chronological order since the missus gave me The Enemy Of The World for Christmas. I'm looking to pick up the remaining stories in the series (Web Of Fear, The Moonbase, and Underwater Menace) in the near future. However, I keep seeing reviews that say The Moonbase DVD is terrible due to some sort of faulty remastering process. Can anyone fill me in on what's wrong with it?
