>Roland has been portrayed as white from the start
>His race plays into his interactions with other characters
>Susannah hates him because he's a honky
>Supposed to look like Stephen King
No chance this movie wont be a hack job adaptation.
Its not that I don't think Idris can nail this. He's a great actor with a ton of presence. Its just a really jarring casting decision when not only has he always been portrayed as white within the novels, illustrations and comics, but his race is actually a big part of how major characters interact with him and their arcs.
Javier would have been more appropriate and he's also a pretty fucking great actor.
Javiar isn't white and he just isn't that good of an actor to play the role. Idris is a better actor, except the main character is white.
This is like casting an Asian to replace Batman. Retarded.
You see, its the DARK Tower. The Dark Tower was always a metaphor for a giant black cock. Its like poetry.
>Everyone knows Viggo is perfect for Roland
>They cast a fucking black guy, just because they know it'll stir up controversy, and get people talking about a movie that your average moviegoer would probably just ignore
They dropped the ball, hard. Viggo is a handsome guy, yet has that worn out haggard look. Plus, he's got that soft spoken, but commanding presence.
I don't mind Idris Elba as an actor, but just what the fuck were they thinking?
>The Dark Tower's Producer Has A Blunt Message For Those Who Don't Like Idris Elba
>"I'm unbelievably proud of it as a collaborator on this enterprise and because I think that he's a great actor and I couldn't be more thrilled that he is likely to play a part... I understand that people who are thoughtful about the storytelling and the racial politics of the storytelling might want to understand how that informs that storytelling, and I respect that and I hear that, and those things are not things we didn't think about or don't think about. The racist assholes should go fuck themselves."
>"The racist assholes should go fuck themselves."
>Javier isn't white
And its going to work. All the discussion about this movie for the next two years is going to be a complete clusterfuck between people who never read the books and love how progressive it is, and the fans who have been reading this shit for nearly 3 decades trying to quietly explain why this is a bad choice without sounding racist whilst being shouted down the whole time. Oh baby.
He points out they are a separate entity from the racist assholes.
Both can essentially go fuck themselves though because stunt casting won out which indicates this film is being handled by hacks.
I've been waiting for this shit for so long, man. So fucking long. Of all the films they had to cuck up it just had to be this. Fuuuuuck
hahaha let's cast a nigger as the white character because DIVERSITYYYYYYYYYY
fuck this shit
Because he's black and has a nice speaking voice.
Redditors/SJW/Tumblrites will always flock to black people like him and Morgan Freeman because "omg, you're so racist! Look at this person! They are as polite and intelligent as any white person! RACIST!"
>Meanwhile for every single black person like this, there are literally millions of witch burners, ghetto gang rapists, and drug dealers.
What the fuck? Isn't Roland supposed to basically be a supernatural Clint Eastwood? Why didn't they just cast Eastwood's son?
>The guy who wrote Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Lost in Space, Starsky and Hutch, Jonah Hex and produced Paranormal Activity 2 through 4.
Wow, hope you enjoy being proven so wrong so easily. Destroyed!
It' yours, fag
>Not choosing Franco Nero
>take an established fictional character from science-fiction and make them black for no other reason than you being a mindless Leftist drone
Oh boy, because this strategy totally worked-out the last time they did it, huh?
Every non-4chan discussion I've seen on this casting choice has been:
A) People (primarily teenage/20-something girls) who "don't get what the big deal is", and who admit to only having read the first book, or not at all.
B) Longtime fans, who want an accurate portrayal of Roland.
C) Kneejerk reactionaries who are always chomping at the bit for an opportunity to call people racist.
That's the primary motivation for this casting choice: to drum up controversy, and get people talking. At its outset, Dark Tower would probably look like a Western to your average joe six pack, so it probably would have been ignored otherwise.
I know, but what I was trying to say was they were prob thinking they could do the same as TFA and take the risk of marketing another major franchise with diversity. Cept TFA wasn't risk taking since you could've casted an all furry cast and it still would've broken a billion plus.
To be fair Idris Elba is a great actor. He's just black, which doesn't fit with this character. It'd be fine if Roland's race just didn't matter, but its a big part of how other characters see him.
So how many of these shitty race-bait movies have to flop hard before Hollywood remembers the bottom-line?
Or are Liberals so entrenched in their ideals that promoting their dogma is now worth millions in lost profits every year?
Fucking good. Let shit casting choices like this flop a few times, so they'll learn their lesson. I hate that Roland has to be a sacrificial lamb in this situation, but I guess it's for the greater good.
>It'd be fine if Roland's race just didn't matter
No it wouldn't.
Arbitrarily changing a character's race, even if the narrative isn't about race, is still showing that you care dick about the source-material and that you have a blatant political-agenda.
Al Simmon's race didn't really matter either, and I still don't want a white or hispanic Spawn. Same with Blade.
Why should this be any different?
Why do Liberals feel the need to ruin everything good?
A lot of people were looking forward to a Dark Tower adaptation, and they for no reason decide to piss all over it.
Do they just hate fun?
>My niece is a HUGE fan of Annie.
>She listens to the soundtrack, knows all the songs by heart, watches the old movie religiously, and even had a small part in a local stage production.
>I hear about the new movie.
>"Hey (niece), are you excited for that new Annie movie?"
>She shoots me a look like I just told her that I fucked her mother (my sister).
>"No, I think it looks really stupid."
>This movie will fail because its being done by total hack frauds
>You'll never see Blaine the Mono put to film
As much as I hate these forced diversity casting choices, black Human Torch was the least of that movie's problems. They could have cast anyone and that piece of shit still would have flopped.
If I just start acting like I like black people will they stop forcing them into every thing?
I've heard good things about the book, I'm assuming they're going to turn it into a trilogy?
Viggo would be great for the role. He's got the look, and experience in westerns, as well as a great acting talent. But no, the retards in charge went with Idris for shock value or something. Kill yourselves, retarded fucks.
This is a risky venture right out the gate. Obscure to normies, will call for a big budget and trying a 2 season bridge series on HBO. It was most likly gonna flop with a white lead.
Can Matthew Mcconaughey as the Man in Black save this movie? Apparently he has signed on or is close to.
>make susannah white
>change her story so that she was crippled by an angry white mob that attacked her for dating a black man
Calling it now.
Who /Didn't read any of the books after wolves of the calla when the series started getting retarded/ here
How does this affect Susannah
I have absolutely no clue how she could be made not black, not 1 clue
Roland I can kinda get and elba will manage but
What the fuck does this mean for SUSANNAH AND DETTA HELLO PLEASE RESPOND !?!?
I always pictured him as Yul Brynner for some reason.
Roland meets Crimson King. King is a crazy old idiot with a box of grenades (I'm not kidding). Then Roland asks God (not kidding) to erase Crimson King from existence (still not kidding) by drawing his picture and erasing it. He enters Dark Tower and its just a fucking gallery of his memories. The top floor door keks him back to book 1.
What in the world
Just look at them sad blue eyes. How could they not cast mah nigga Daniel?
Literally not seeing the problem here. What did you want from the Crimson King? Some giant spider battle or some shit? The whole point was that the crimson king was a fucking loser.
Stephen King self inserts as a major character, Harry Potter merchandise is used as a weapon by the agents of the Crimson King, and the Crimson King himself is revealed to be a cackling old man throwing hand grenades, who is dispatched easily by Roland. Also rather than finding anything in particular at the top of the tower, Roland is sent back to the beginning, chasing the Man in Black across the desert, as punishment for being too single minded in his quest. Except this time he is carrying his friend's horn which he stopped to pick up in this repeat of history. It's implied that he's arrived at the tower hundreds of times, and he will keep doing it until he learns to do it "right", and become a better person.
Daniel Craig or Michael Fassbender would have been great.
None of it really bothers me because this shit happens over and over again forever anyways so it has all probably ended countless different ways before. In this permuation he got cucked by peter parker.
Evil is usually just as cool as good. In fact they are usually morally equal from an objective perspective.
King can't write. Roland still have succeeded while the Crimson King wasn't a weak bitch...which would have made Roland's victory even more important.
I'm not even racist, but that shit is retarded. Roland is supposed to be a cross between cowboy and medieval knight, two of the whitest things ever, not to mention that his appearance is homage to Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name, which is told like a billion times in the novels. Not only that, but Susannah spends almost entire second novel hating Roland partly because he's white dude in a cowboy cosplay. In Wolves of Calla Roland allows himself a moment of joy and breaks into typical white trash hoedown. He's like the worst character to be pointlessly race-changed for no reason.
Its great PR because he knows white cucks are going to see it no matter what. They're focusing all their marketing on the dindu dollar.
Really rustled my jimmies, Flagg was the true arch-nemesis, Roland spent 20 years jerking around in a desert searching for this asshole, and then he dies basically off-screen.
Well, at least Mordred dies equally stupidly
King was the first author I was into. After him I got into Orson Scott Card, then PK Dick, then Borges (Labyrinths is awesome).
In college I got into Proust. Every man should read La recherche du temps perdu.
Lately I have been reading non-fiction and have no favorites.
I don't give a shit that he's black it's the fact that he is absolutely not at all how king described him regardless of skin colour.
Roland should be lanky but incredibly lean. Idris will have to loose a lot of muscle mass(?) if he wants to look anything like Roland should.
me. I stopped at Wizard and Glass. King went full retard after that. And now he's pulling a George Lucas and putting out edited versions of the Gunslinger (which are awful.) The Gunslinger is the only book in the series I would defend as good literature, the rest are decent but won't do anything for you as a reader if you're not a huge fan of the series. And he's trying to ruin it
Wizard and Glass was full retard. I had zero fucking interest in a backstory after Blaine's wild ride.
And such atrocious prose. King can go on and on about a white wall for pages.
>King spends books building the CK up to basically be Sauron-lite.
>He ends up being a crazy Santa Claus caught on a balcony, and is dispatched by an 11th hour retard.
I don't give a shit what the "point" was. It was the final battle of a 7 part book series that took over three decades to finish. It was anticlimactic as shit. Even if I ignored the final chapter per King's advice, I would have still been immensely dissatisfied.
Welp, that's another movie I won't be watching.
Have these people no shame?
Hope it flops.
>I come in the name of Stephen King, he of Maine!
>casting a black guy for a character who is LITERALLY clint eastwood
>not casting jamey fucking sheridan who has already played the man in black
who the FUCK thought this shit would be a good idea?
Idris can still play the character white.
Think about it. Many American films are set in various places around the world, where they speak a different language. Yet only a few productions go through the trouble of having each character converse in the local language. Usually everyone just speaks English everywhere, and that's something we as an audience accept.1
So really it doesn't matter that a black actor is being cast to play a white character, as Idris is such a great actor he can just play the character white as it was canonically written to be in Clint Eastwood's western image
This is hilarious and none of you are seeing the point. The series is being made by Sony. They can purposely fuck with the scheduling so that he can't also play James Bond, which they also own. Either that or they can make the argument that one man shouldn't lead two of their big franchises. Idris Elba was the only black frontrunner to be the next Bond, by casting him in this they can avoid a black Bond without being called racists.
The producers, who know that by doing so they will attract a wider audience while also getting free advertising because neckbeard racists are so upset and will talk and talk and talk about it online.
I've read all the books (except the latest one, who cares) and I can't fucking remember anything from the last three, it was such a clusterfuck of shit happening
All that is left in my memory:
Wolves - Magnificent Seven ripoff, with brain sucking Dr. Dooms who throw Harry Potter snitches and get killed by really sharp plates
Song - is that the one where Roland gets raped by ghost who previous rapes Roland? Some weird shit happens, everything else is a fog. Was skyscaper build around rose and bird people in this?
Last one - Roland travels through Sonic The Hedgehog zones, while his retarded spidey son follows or something. The destroy brain suckage factory, everyone dies, RESET
Black people can only look up to other blacks? Having white heroes is detrimental to black children's growth?
Why does somebody have to be the same race as you to be able to inspire you?
And roland is white, canonically so. It's not like his race isn't defined.
it will inevitably flop
most of the appeal of Dark Tower is linked to "conservative" ideas and manly shit
this cuck casting just killed the only chance this movie ever had
>he still thinks yelling "RACIST!" means anything
I'm not defending it, I liked the whole repeat things, "ka is a wheel" but the Crimson King, Mordred and the end of Randall flag's and Rolands ka-tet's stories was so disappointing.
But like I said, he gave a reason for it being shit which softens the blow for me a little personally.
Yes, the new black Annie changes the icon of Annie, in the same way the old cracker Annie's perpetuated the previous icon.
Most people have only seen the one Annie from the 60's anyway.
“Death, but not for you, gunslinger. Never for you. You darkle. You tinct. May I be brutally frank? You go on.”
>Black people can only look up to other blacks?
Yes, that's how racial psychology works. People tend to look up to those with like traits.
Are you white? What black man has inspired you?
Canon is totally irrelevant. King sold it.
OJ Simpson inspired me greatly.
I actually only started recently reading the series and got bored about 2/3rds of the way into the fourth book because I don't give a flying fuck about Roland's stupid love story where all characterization and reasoning for an inevitably tragic romance is "IT'S JUST KA," but it's disappointing to see a black actor, as cool as he is, shoehorned into a role for the sake of controversy/diversity.
It really won't make any sense if they get to the second book's material where one of the series' main characters (as far as I read anyway) has an entire arc of distrust and conflict as a result of a her being black and Roland and Eddie being white.
This is pretty dumb.
Too many fucking white apologists defending black people.
I like Idris as much as the next white guy but if the story describes someone as a white person, keep them fucking white.
I'm sure blakc people would've have liked Straight outta Compton to be acted by white people.
I'm not the guy you're talking to, but the way you're moving your goalposts by trying to round your way around to some unforeseen point has absolutely no bearing on the fact that a lot of people have role models or inspirations that are not the same race as them. You look absolutely terrible trying to worm the conversation into a sharp point that has nothing to do with what was being talked about.
I am not from Hong Kong or China, but Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan have been large influences on my life.
I like him, but the perfect roland would be someone else
Charlton Heston actually.
He marched for Civil Rights in the 60s. LOOK IT UP
>Someone has to be the exact same race as me to serve as an inspiration
The better question is when will this meme end. Can't anyone just draw a feeling of inspiration and ambition from the achievements of anyone else?
I have great respect for whites, arabs, and asians, who have all created vast empires and made the most contributions to agriculture, trade/economy, medicine, seafaring and navigation, math, philosophy, art, etc., all things that have improved our welfare and lifespan, mechanized our survival, and enriched our world with beauty.
I mean, TV and Film was invented by whites. The internet you're using right now was invented by whites. So is the computer, the mouse, and all the modern amenities in your house like flush toilets, microwave, electrical lighting. It's hard NOT to be inspired by white people's accomplishments.
Black people don't inspire me because they have very few accomplishments in history compared to other races. Sub-saharans have never developed any great civilization or advanced society with sophisticated institutions. Sub-saharans have never invented the wheel. They never revolutionized trade, warfare, statehood, and economy like other races have. Similarly I'm not inspired by native americans or australian abos, their societies and culture were primitive and they have very few people who have contributed anything to humanity's welfare.
stay there bitch nigga and you better have a dildo up your ass if you think racist actually means anything
dude look at the oscars last year and the outrage for only white nominees
no impact whatsoever and this year the same thing happened
these people have lost their power, being "racist" isn't shocking, it's becoming a norm slowly and steadily
that's what I'm trying to say in the midst of my shitposting
>participating in a march is working toward racial equality
That's the best you got?
>>Someone has to be the exact same race as me to serve as an inspiration
Yes, exactly. Feel free to offer counterexamples.
Arab isn't a race. Arabs are Caucasian.
The fact that you don't hold blacks as role models is my point. This is totally natural and this is why black kids need more heroes on the silver screen/ black mirrror.
I knew a black kid once who looked up to David Bowie really hard, but I'm not sure what they're up to today so I don't know how the death affected them.
Also my white school teacher once said that she really looked up to Malcolm X as a child.
I think you might be a bit too desperate to have some race based shitposting material. Have you tried going to pol to freshen your material a bit.
No, I am asking so I know what you mean by "huge influences".
Especially Jackie Chan. But don't forget Bruce Lee.
Oh and also don't forget I asked specifically about black people, so ask yourself why you offered Asians instead.
Yeah, typically participating in a march for civil equality constitutes as advancing civil and racial equality. He did a lot more than that though, he made the rounds on the nightly talk shows always insisted to be accompanied by black activists so they could get their message across on mainstream television. Look it up on youtube
Why are you such a salty bitch lmao baka desu senpai
The goal post hasn't changed from "black kids don't have role models on screen".
So out of your entire life experience you can come up with two instances, neither of which are personal to you? This is my point.
>Shifting goalposts this hard
>It's no longer enough to feel admiration or inspiration due to someone's actions or ideologies, now you must emulate them precisely or else it doesn't constitute a good example and I can dismiss it out of hand in favor of asserting my own asinine argument again.
>Asked for examples
>WOW ONLY TWO?
Nice you're an idiot. I guess it was my argumentative fault for not knowing everyone on the planet and inquiring regarding their role models to pick up upon any more cases of cross racial inspiration.
Arabs are Caucasian but they arent considered American "white" though like WASPs. Irish, Soutern Italians, Eastern Europeans, Sicilians and Jews werent cosnidered "White" either for a long time despite all coming from close proximity in Europe. Arabs are Caucasians sure but they havent been granted arbitrary acceptance into the whitebread club of America yet so his point still kinda stands I guess
I'd also like to point out that race as a biological factor doesnt exist and the 3 big divisions (Causcoid, Negroid and Mongoloid) among the worlds ethnicites are considered bunk as well by modern historians and biologists
You are talking to multiple people at this point and asking how those people have inspired me or have been people that I look up to is a whole lot of deflecting away from:
>Black people can only look up to other blacks? Having white heroes is detrimental to black children's growth? Why does somebody have to be the same race as you to be able to inspire you?
>Yes, that's how racial psychology works. People tend to look up to those with like traits.
Being complete armchair psychology dribble. I'm not taking the bait. Obviously, you're trying to twist the conversation into something else because you're an obnoxious faggot. I wouldn't be surprised if you're sitting at your keyboard laughing to yourself, to protect your ego, "Ho ho ho! I sure am trolling these guys!"
Enjoy talking to people still taking your deflection bait, but my second post in this thread will be my last. You're wrong and you know you're wrong.
Yes he did.
>I am not from Hong Kong or China, but Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan have been large influences on my life.
Two irrelevant examples that don't fit the criteria aren't actually examples at all, dumb dumb.
Not him, but I started martial arts as a kid because of Bruce Lee movies. His philosophy made me look outside the box when it came to learning MA. A lot of people where (still are, in some cases) very rigid when it came to style and schools, he wasn't, even incorporating fencing, boxing, bodybuilding, etc. in his training and skills. He wasn't the first, of course, but it was still rare in the pre-MMA world. Yes. I'm old.
>cite your sources
It's 4chan's /tv/ board, not a thesis paper lmfao. I couldn't care less about some random black autist sperging out about shit lmao. I'm still right regardless of whether you look the information up or not. Plus I'm on my phone and copying urls is hard :(
It'll be shit, but i'm cool with Idris playing the main guy.
I really like him, and wish he was in more stuff.
He reminds me of Denzel Washington, but easier on the eyes.
Blacks aren't role models on screen because they aren't role models in real life.
If somebody asks you think of famous philosophers, conquerors, artists, or inventors, you will never think of any black people, because black people have no significant contributions to any field in history.
In the modern age, black people are only role models in crime, rape, and political instability.
Put more black heroes on the screen, but don't contort white characters into being black for the sake of representation. Imagine the outrage if Disney bought Star Wars and now they make Han Solo, a canonically white guy, into a black man, just because they own the rights. Or as the anon above said, if they make all the characters from Straight Outta Compton asians because we don't get enough asian main characters. Isn't it silly?
>"XBOX, SUBMIT MY RESUME AGAIN. XBOX CHECK MY VOICEMAIL FOR NEW MESSA- OH NONE YET? COOL.
Wow those are a bunch of words that in no way describe the actions or ideologies of Bruce Lee that made you adopt him as a role model.
Having a ripped body isn't an action or an ideology, dumb dumb.
Being inspiring isn't being a role model, dumb dumb.
In the general realm of public perception but in real life science Arabs didn't migrate through Europe from the Caucasus mountains. They likely just settled there straight from Africa senpai like Europeans did when theh left Africa
Meh, Dark Tower stagnated into garbage-tier by the end so i don't care about it. Plus it's not a LotR or Harry Potter so it will probably have middling gross and not get a sequel (or the series of sequels that the series needs to properly tell it's story.
This will all be forgotten in a few years, so who gives a fuck.
It is a shitty choice made by liberal retards though and basically confirms all the /pol/tier bullshit bitching about hollywood, but anyone with half a brain knew that shit already and didn't get their panties in a bunch about it, so again, meh.
I had a feeling you couldn't cite your sources.
>Blacks aren't role models on screen because they aren't role models in real life.
DING DING DING
>Put more black heroes on the screen
Already doing it.
> but don't contort white characters into being black for the sake of representation.
>Having a ripped body isn't an action
All the work he did to achieve that is an action, and it's what I admire. Bruce also had his own philosophy and martial art that he developed, but even that is besides the point. Keep squirming autismo.
No, I never used the word "inspire".
>i know what he thinks
> but in real life science Arabs didn't migrate through Europe from the Caucasus mountains
They don't have to in order to be Caucasian you fucking idiot.
does this tingle your tism?
Asking whether or not someone considers someone a rolemodel and asking how they consider someone a rolemodel are so close to being synonymous in this context that it basically makes no difference, don't be so pedantic
And also having admiration for the actions of others usually implies a want to take similar action or otherwise embody the qualities which underpinned the performance of those actions.
You're not even going to win this on technicality from semantics dude, you're just retarded.
I like DT, but hated the "shared universe" thing King went for. The best DT books are The Gunslinger and The Waste Lands. I love them. The Waste Lands is what the whole series should have been like.
> forensic anthropology suggests with racial typology.
The fuck would forensic anthropology have to do with genetics?
Caucasian is just a word. Caucasians don't literally need to have been from the Caucasus.
Caucasian variety—I have taken the name of this variety from Mount Caucasus, both because its neighborhood, and especially its southern slope, produces the most beautiful race of men, I mean the Georgian; and because all physiological reasons converge to this, that in that region, if anywhere, it seems we ought with the greatest probability to place the autochthones (original members) of mankind.
>you never mentioned any of the work.
I mentioned him, as my role model, and his great physique in relation to me trying to better my body. Literally how are you capable of being autistic enough to weasel out of something so obvious?
Exactly, you mentioned his physique. You never said anything about the work it took to get that physique. You never mentioned his isometric exercises or his cardio game for example.
>I have taken the name of this variety from Mount Caucasus
>because all physiological reasons converge to this, that in that region, if anywhere, it seems we ought with the greatest probability to place the autochthones (original members) of mankind.
You're an idiot.
>Playing sports doesn't make you an athlete.
To be fair, JKD was a cash grab by greedy students of Bruce after his death. Bruce didn't really have a martial arts, that was his point. Learn always, learn from everything and everyone.
Don't confuse his acting-fu with his real MA training. Two different beasts. Bruce wasn't a flashy fighter irl.
>you don't need to mention the work to get a physique in order to mention the work to get a physique
>To be fair, JKD was a cash grab by greedy students of Bruce after his death. Bruce didn't really have a martial arts
Exactly. He wasn't even a fighter in real life. He got his ass kicked in a street fight in HK, was a manlet.
With all the goalposts you've been moving, are you an athlete?
In the context of the discussion, the why is already implied. If I'm an aspiring body builder, or just someone looking to get in shape, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is my role model, it's obvious why that is. Seek help anon.
Err. he was a fighter. He even defeated (but wasn't able to knock out) a boxer using Wing Chun punches and traps. Then he learned boxing because he saw how superior it was as a fighting tool.
No he wasn't a fighter. He was a little American punk who got his ass handed to him when he visited the motherland. The experience buttblasted his manlet ass and happened upon a wave Hong Kong martial arts movie mania in the west. He took wingchun for like a year tops.
You asked who the role models were, and what made them role models, retard. Everything has been addressed already. Not to mention that in your whirlwind of goalpost adjustments you're completely ignoring the fact that someone of one race has a role model of another race.
-a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill. (dictionary.com)
-a person who is trained in or good at sports, games, or exercises that require physical skill and strength (merriam-webster.com)
You've managed to shift a discussion of "What black man has inspired you?" to arguing what an athlete is. I'm actually surprised you managed to rope me in this far. I'm tapping out before you try to shift the argument to what constitutes a good place to look up definitions of words.
Well, looks like we are in for another shitty, wasteful adaptation of a great, King novel. Smh, fucking PC America.
>blue, bombers eyes.
Elba is a great actor, but he is no Roland of Gilead.
The choice is easy when they know it'll give them at least $20M of free publicity because people talk about the casting.
Hiring Elba is like Elba paying them millions of dollars to play in the movie.
And Babe Ruth was not physically agile, nor did he possess considerable stamina or strength.
Why did you cherry-pick that one?
a person who is trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina
So? Perhaps you need to re-read the definition you yourself provided?
a person who is trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina
>And Babe Ruth was not physically agile, nor did he possess considerable stamina or strength.
Obviously, he had physical ability. Otherwise, we wouldn't be discussing him to this day.
>Why did you cherry-pick that one?
I grabbed that one to lend some legitimacy, just so you couldn't go the "that's not a valid dictionary" angle.
>And Babe Ruth was not physically agile, nor did he possess considerable stamina or strength.
I put all that under the "physical ability" umbrella, for brevity's sake. Why the hell am I still talking to you?
The reason why they cast Elba is because black cowboys have made them money in the last few years (Django, Hateful8). That's all. We're just lucky that they chose based Elba and not some shit-tier flavor of the month black guy.
