IGNORE THIS IRRELEVANT SHIT IF SEEN
Someone did a breakdown of the trailer:
>seriously ignore the fucking cellar movie
Fuck off retard.
It was unfinished for a long time because this movie was originally part of Paramount's Insurge Division(source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/paramount-downgrades-low-budget-insurge-783745), which was a sector of Paramount devoted to low budget films made for 5 million or less. The Insurge divison collapsed and folded up and this film(when it was originally called Valencia) was caught in limbo with no studio home. Eventually it was grabbed up by Paramount again and new scenes were written in by Dan Casey to connect the film to the Cloverfield universe so it would actually make some money in theaters. Those new scenes/reshoots were shot in in March 2015 and they've spent the last year editing and adding effects. I'm starting to get a real funny feeling about this film the more and more I dig around. The original script, the fact that none of the original Cloverfield crew are involved(aside from JJ), and the fact that Paramount is releasing a film with a 5 million dollar budget in IMAX, is beginning to seem like a big cash grab for Paramount to make a few quick bucks off of an orphaned movie that they bought up. Here's some more info about the film in its original state: http://logins.specscout.com/homepage.php?mod=screenplay&smod=coverage&cmd=cvgd&sp_id=287
Can't a board get hyped?
Don't think so.
>>seriously ignore the fucking cellar movie
Why not? What evidence do we have against it?
>Page owned since 2009
>*supposedly* no activity since 2011
>trailer with absolutely nothing to do with cloverfield, or 10 cloverfield lane.
"but what about;
>The production company is fake"
Yeah, so were the ones me and classmates made up for our films.
>why's it password protected??"
beats me but I'm doubting it's relevant personally.
Nice copypasta faggot. Only one link from last year, no evidence to back it up, only your shit.
Kill yourself, faglord.
Intro reminds me of this
>also produced by JJ Abrams
No surprise at all. These dumb low IQ redditors and plebeians of yesteryear are just looking for a friend simulator again.
why does this remind me of a movie i watched years ago?
>group of people stuck in bunker
>shit goes south in bunker because aliens or demons or someshit were roaming outside
>everyone stuck and go crazy
>small group go outside
>shit goes south
>forget everything after that because it was gay
i only came to this thread cause i thought it was cloverfield sequel
>viral marketers make threads on /tv/
You were too obvious
Who cares what it was in the past if it literally is a Cloverfield sequel now? You could say they just shoehorned Cloverfield shit into an existing script but that doesn't make it not exist... I still want to see the monsters and fallout of the original.

i believe it. this looks like it was supposed to be some garbage horror movie and the guy that isn't John Goodman pretends to he also doesn't know what's going on until the end
>it's a "gamergate /v/edditor is physically incapable of not bringing up his boogeyman when he posts no matter if it's relevant or not" episode
Yeah, if the movie is good enough to carry the cloverfield shit, I'll be happy. I mean it's too early to say it won't turn out badly, but at this point I'm just happy there's something. It's also worth mentioning that there's very little we can trust of the trailer considering the original Cloverfield's marketing. It could very well just be a shitty thrilled in a bunker, but at the same time that could also just be a huge false lead.
Also I trust that JJ isn't so retarded that he would pull an enormous bait and switch by advertising a movie that has nothing at all to do with Cloverfield as a sequel to it.
>it's a "sequel episode where he keeps reinforcing everyone's point about him" episode
>try to talk to my dad about this movie
>explain the plot, spaghetti my way through it
>"I hate John goodman. He's like 900 lbs"
>show him the trailer
>"why are you so obsessed with this?"
I just wanted to get excited about something with him
>my dad and i are the only two people out of most of the people we know that really liked Cloverfield
>call him first thing this morning and we both are already excited about it
>go to family business job and sit on computer all day posting in every thread and relaying it all to my dad since he's actually busy
>got paid $14 an hour for 6 hours because Cloverfield hype
Whoa, stop for a second.
Hey, my name's Hud Platt and I bet you're all wondering how the heck I ended up HERE.
Well then lets set the record straight, but to do that, we need to go back a little bit.
I know they wanted to do a cool scene where the monster eats the guy, but they really should have had some restraint because it made the size super inconsistent.
Pic related is how big it was a few moments prior. It's so big that there's no fucking way it should have given a shit about one tiny human, that'd be like trying to eat a single ant to satisfy your hunger.
What if Clovie's blood was what made people blow up? The parasites could've been sucking away at him, and supposing 10 Lane is in the same universe as it's implied, then maybe the blast carried the pathogen into the air. Or maybe its just that outside is so radiated
I thought that at first, but JJ was adamant on quelling rumors that there were multiple clovers in New York.
There ARE more of these things as Cloverfield Kishin proves to us (that wonderful, non-retarded story), but I think New York was dealing with just one of them.
One thing I will say about Cloverfield is it really does spark images in my mind of just what shit might be in the sea that we don't know about. I mean imagine parasites the size of a man that could wreck people all throughout a city. Terrifying shit.
Well to be fair, it might not have been out of hunger but more of curiosity. Two completely different creatures, but I've seen my cat chomp bugs quite a few times simply because they're in front of her. The real question is more of how likely it would be to notice something as small as a person.
It's John Goodman's dancing skills.
Seems very interesting that this redirects to a bobshelter advertisement hosted by a houses for sale website.
Next to my first viewing of Blair Witch, it's probably my favorite Found Footage movie. I remember liking the Poughkeepsie Tapes when I was younger, but I've recently rewatched it and I personally couldn't take to it. I liked the thick qt on the balloon, though.
>implying I find SJW offensive
Lol you fucking retard SJW didn't have shit to do with what he was replying to, he just couldn't contain his autism anymore and had to inject his irrelevant fringe politics into everything like you faggots all seem to do. Stay triggered by people getting triggered though, familia, I'm sure your impotent rage will find release someday
when you finally reach the age of majority and are old enough to use 4chan. :^)
>he actually thinks he can be condescending to literally anyone and has the high ground by screaming ESS JAY DOUBLEYEW at everything he doesn't like
>an average of around 2 and a half posts per user
>one obsessed person
>it's an "anon can't into math" episode
>OY VEY DONT THROW OUT THAT PERFECTLY GOOD MOVIE.
HEY GOY WANT TO SEE MY NEW TOTALLY ORIGINAL PROJECT I DID IN SECRET FOR 8 YEARS!
it's an "angry /v/edditor get's pissed off about being BTFO of a thread and starts acting like a moron" episode.
from dan trachtenberg's instagram
what are those monster(s) miniatures?
is that our boy Clover
the one in the back looks familair but I don't know from where. The one next to him looks kind like clover but like >>64938018 said the legs are wrong.
so clearly this is clover's second form
It was my first found footage movie and I liked it a lot. I think I was in middle school when it was released. I never understood the shaky cam hatred, I don't know what people were expecting of a movie based off people running away from danger the whole time.
The marketing and speculation was more exciting than the actual movie though I gotta admit.
Can you really trust anything about this movie?
These sorts of things are made to be super hush-hush and to have lots of misinformation thrown around.
The original Cloverfield had a hundred different names in production, like "Monstrous" and even fucking "Cheese".
I can't say with any certainty what the development of this movie was like until after it's been released and Paramount can be more comfortable to open their curtains.
Until then, I'm cautiously optimistic. Remember folks, just about everything you read about this movie could be a lie or misinformation. that's how this game works.
Does anyone else think that the end scene of the trailer is the literal end of the movie? She escapes and looks outside and sees... ??? I would guess they'd do one shot of what it's like outside and then hard cut to black. Movie over. It wouldn't be the first time the end of the movie was used in a trailer...
My current theory;
They found a 10 Cloverfield Lane on Long Island. I'm guessing that what happened was that during the events of the first film, Survivalist Goodman flipped his shit and managed to save some random people through some series of events (or perhaps even his kids) and offered them shelter in his bunker. He hunkered down and then the hammerdown protocol happened and NYC and the Long Island area got nuked, right? So now he thinks the world is fucking over, the apocalypse happened or some shit, and he doesn't want to leave because of radioactive fallout and the monsters, and that's why they've been stuck in the bunker. For all they know, the whole world is fucked, but from what's implied by the end of Cloverfield (the tape being property of the US Government), the rest of the United States is more or less still intact.
This wouldn't explain the Louisiana filming, the Swamp Pop, or the sci-fi font/noise at the end of the trailer tho.
People like surprises.
Some people really liked Cloverfield, and all the associated ARG stuff.
No one knew this movie existed/was a Cloverfield sequel until literally yesterday.
Goodman a Best
MEW a cute.
So, we're cautiously hype
>>64939695I like this theory alot anon. the only problem I have is that this movie seams to take place some time after the original attack because MEW has an iPhone 5/5s. though it could just be one of those things that wasn't factored into the plot. But it wouldn't surprise me if this is what happens.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a nuke because Americans would never nuke their own soil, leaving radiation for decades to come as well as rads spreading to other cities. Also in the movie they mentioned T-minus 15 minutes until "hammer down". Hammer down is an expression used by A-10 Thunderbolt pilots (Land attack aircraft) when they fire their incendiary rounds. It is likely they mass bombed the city with special incendiary bombs like phosphorous which is an advanced version of napalm consuming up to 5000 degrees and spreads throughout tunnels, alleyways and streets, ideal for a city scenario. This also explains how the camera was able to survive, as it was covered by rocks and it was possible it did not burn through the rocks. Had it been a nuke the camera would not have survived because the entire island would be ground zero.
I don't think It was a nuke either. I'm pretty sure that there was an interview with either Matt or JJ saying they carpet bombed the city. And JJ said the monster was killed during the bombing. There was another interview with Matt Reeves that stated the monster was a "baby" and the noises it made was it calling for it's mommy. Maybe the mommy showed up and started wrecking shit.
Well you can sleep a little easier knowing that life adapted to living at those depths probably would not do so well on the surface. For starters, they probably can't breath air. Also, the pressure that they are used to is pretty insane. Whatever blood or fluid in them would be cause some internal damage.
Watch as literal paid shills tear this post down.
>Be years ago
>AICN announces that J.J. is working on a "Godzilla style" found footage movie
>News article is taken down with a lengthy explanation that they were wrong, and that J.J. was working on something entirely original
>Teaser comes out
>"Wow, so it is just Godzilla/Shaky cam as stated"
>"LOL FUCK OFF RETARD! IT'S NOTHING LIKE THAT! IT'S ABOUT LOVECRAFT/JAPANESE SOFT DRINK COMPANIES! OMG CHECK OUT THESE ALTERNATE REALITY GAMES AND MARKETING WEBSITES! GET HYPE!"
>Movie comes out
>It's a crappy found footage Godzilla style movie
>Can you really trust anything about this movie?
Yes. As stated above, the original Cloverfield was known to be a Gozilla-Style found footage movie from the very beginning.
Then the fucking shills (actual shills) and proto-redditors started in with the MYSTERY BOX HYPE TRAIN.
Given the films background, and those involved, I'm completely pessimistic, despite kind of liking the trailer.
>Does anyone else think that the end scene of the trailer is the literal end of the movie?
I would not put it past hacks this lazy.
>Another movie with a female protagonist
>Filming wrapped in December 2014
>First trailer/name drop in Jan 2016 two months before release
Something doesn't add up. I'm honestly leaning towards them pussying out on this film being able to stand on its own after they did a rough cut so JJ ordered rewrites to tie the film into the Cloverfield Universe, but had to go with "blood relative" instead of sequel due to how flimsy the connection was. They probably filmed the new scenes last Summer, accounting for why all this was revealed last minute and why the Viral Marketing campaign seems lacking.
