>Ezra meets some sort of Dark Side master
>Vader fights Ahsoka
>Anakin re-emerges for some time
>lots of new lore
Holy shit, so much new stuff in there. Might actually watch this season after the boredom that the last was.
Season 2 got progressively better with each episode and now it's a pretty great show overall. Hopefully it isn't going to get as cluttered with unnecessary character arcs as Clone Wars.
This actually looks pretty good. I have a few problems with the lore though. There's no way Anakin would have been trusted with a pupil. There'should no way Anakin would have had such strong feelings for a female other than Padme, after all, she's the reason he became Vader. And that awful "how to train a dragon" art style. Not to mention the inevitable r2 druid fight filler episode.
Anakin was a full fledged knight during the clone wars. Taking on a padawan is one of their responsibilities. That's just how it is. And the relationship is meant to be a two way street. Teaching the padawan in meant to teach the knight as well.
Also, his feelings for Ahsoka are not romantic. He basically never thought of any woman that way in his entire life except Padme. But he had strong feelings for his own mom of course. He's perfectly capable of having strong non-romantic feelings.
>Getting excited over the story of a children's cartoon
It was going to make more sense, but disney cancelled TCW before it could smoothly tie in to Revenge of the Sith, so you miss stuff like the divide between Anakin and the Council growing, him getting mad or even refusing to talk about Ahsoka, etc. You just see her leave and then poof, its as if no one remembers
KoTOR is directly referenced in the Autists Visual Guide for TFA.
No contradiction there.
See top of the pic.
It's just another example pointing out that there is no plan what so ever.
JJ just wanted a cool new trendy lightsaber design. EU autists have to fill in the blanks for why it exists in their books since it's irrelevant to the movies aside from "does it look cool" and "will it sell toys?"
they feel the most like an actual universe tbqhwyf
better than the trash that is IV-VII
This guy wasn't canon either until they readded him.
>why did you leave?
>do you know what i've become?
this show is mostly shit, but i'll be damned if that didnt give me some feels after watching TCW
I have a thought-intensive job. For recreation I like the kind of easygoing stuff which DOESN'T make you think.
Demanding that ENTERTAINMENT IS SRS BUSSNIESS LOLOXD just makes you look insecure.
>Vader feeling bad about it
Just stupid. He clearly felt no remorse at all until he tried to kill his own son, that was his limit. He wouldn't give a fuck about some random apprentice
Chemical Engineer. And that's all I'm going to say because this is not my blog.
Now post Star Wars shit, faggots.
TWISTED FUCKING PSYCHOPATH!
For what it's worth, pretty sure it's tongue-in-cheek. These books always have this sort of thing.
They just explain the crossguard is there because of the cracked crystal. So what's so unusual about the rest of the design?
Did all of the old lightsabers have a cracked crystal? Then how come Ezra has a normal blade on his?
They have to and should kill her. Yoda literally outright states that Luke is the last Jedi in ROTJ. Nobody wants some stupid cop out to keep some shitty OC pls don't steal kids show characters alive
IIRC, the creator has already stated that she won't have anything to do with his redemption.
Given that he thought the jedi betrayed him, he probably thinks she's some sort of double traitor and just wants to mindfuck her.
>tfw Luke is the reincarnation of Darth Bane
The fact that it has a crossguard....?
I mean, we saw Kylo using the vents practically in combat.
While the design is apparently ancient, it's clear that back then it was used for combat applications and/or aesthetics. Due to Kylo's cracked crystal, he apparently needs the crossguard in order to vent out the excess energy, and therefore used that design.
>something something Snoke believes Ren to be the focal point of the dark and the light
As in Kylo or as in the Knights if Ren? He was only allowed to be an evil cunt in the movie but if it was just part of his test then neat.
>best SW book
>Plagueis binge drinking
>best SW book
>not Darth Bane trilogy
Anyway, they`ll reveal Snoke is Plagueis in VIII so that`ll be it.
Can't comment on what she's been like in Rebels, but she was good in TCW.
>fucks up constantly
>objectively weaker than almost every other named jedi
>gets taken for a ride by practically every villain going
Take a break from /tv/, you've forgotten what Mary Sue means
he got cucked into submission and disappeared. its totally gonna be him
by the way, they repeated the quote about some parts of legends being real. so what eu elements will they be introducing into the new canon?
Nobody on /tv/ remembers what Mary Sue means
>make a spinoff EU series
>write in a random character between episode 2 and 3
>make a character that everybody likes
>she is "cannon" now according to DIsney
>kill her off because "lul shes not in OT"
Jesus Christ Disney.
>they`ll reveal Snoke is Plagueis in VIII so that`ll be it.
nah fuck off
that implies sheev, motherfucking, palpatine failed to kill a guy decapitated in front of him
it'll ruin all the films
>decapitated in front of him
and it kinda makes sense. Plagueis whole schtick was playing around with immortality/life energy. Not too much of a stretch to assume he figured out how to feign death/come back to life
SHE HAS NO PLACE IN OUR NEW EMPIRE
Rebels sucks and doesn't hold a candle to the far superior Lucas-backed TCW
It was going to happen anyway, because the only good reason for her not being present in the OT, or even the ST, is her being dead, in a coma or in stasis, and since the latter two are hallmarks of absolute dogshit EU, everyone would prefer if she went out with dignity.
>Yoda is Wise
Yoda confirmed for Plagueis.
Anyway, you'll never hear about Plagueis in a movie ever again, Disney isn't retarded, they won't use a character as worthless and irrelevant as Plagueis for any sort of twist.
>everybody be hating on Lucas
>Gives ideas and outputs for clone wars
>clone wars turns out really good
>His daughter also wrote one of the best arcs
So perhaps Lucas isn't that terrible when he is not doing the writing.
>they won't use a character as worthless and irrelevant as Plagueis for any sort of twist
Not him but who else could it be? Is he really a new character with a retarded name that just comes out of nowhere?
>Lightsaber props actually glow this time to create proper luminescence without CGI
I like this touch, but goddamn they probably go through a shit-ton of whatever bulb they're using. Electronics don't take well to being bashed against each other.
Yes, it's a new character. I'm sorry, but Disney does not care about tying their new trilogy to an EU novel a handful of EU obsessed fans read.
Get the Art of TFA book and look through it. They literally made up almost everything on the spot with no long term plan and then worked backwards from it to make it fit into the lore. Snoke was even supposed to be a chick at one point.
I feel like mace windu should get a pass for being a dick since he was apparently by far the best fighter in the galaxy. He just didn't expect anakin to chimp out about "trials" when he himself had just murdered dooku.
also, who is higher powerlevel windu or ep. 7 luke?
>KOTOR, even the first one, is well regarded by critics and loved by fans more than the prequels.
>Implying any characters besides Sheev and Obi-Wan in the prequels are three-dimensional
Abrams was pretty fucking lazy with this movie, wasn't he?
He pretty much just did all the fun parts, basically didn't explain shit about anyone or anything after the title crawl (which already didn't say much) and left all the expositions to the new EU writers and the directors who will succeed him.
no don't watch the first season
it's absolute bullshit and it sucks
here, watch the 20 minute recap and go straight to s2 lothal when shit finally goes down
>Abrams was pretty fucking lazy with this movie, wasn't he?
I don't think his role wasn't as big as advertised.
He just directed a simple action movie, after a Disney marketing committee handed him the script and all the designs he had to use.
I think he was only hired for TFA for the name recognition, the next two directors are full on puppets that will do as they are told, just like every director that works on Marvel movies.
Disney cracked the formula, and they sure as fuck won't let a director to fuck with their assembly line production money printer.
>also, who is higher powerlevel windu or ep. 7 luke?
How would anyone know, all we know about Luke in Episode VII is that he left his friends and the Republic so he could stare at the ocean all day long.
Leaked TFA VFX breakdown. Was probably meant for Oscar cats but somehow got online.
The video is about 10 mins long.
Download link is 100% safe. Used it myself.
It won Game of the Year back before 2010 when Games of the Year were actually good games.
Most people that are not cursory fans that just watch the movies think KOTOR is the best EU media besides some of Zahn's novels.
Star Wars fan since 1997 and KoTOR was without a doubt the best thing about EU.
That and Darth Bane trilogy was top tier stuff.
Rest should never have been made.
Maybe the Old Republic is salvagable, Darth Malgus is my Sithfu.
>I owned an Xbox in highschool
>So everyone knows about that one WRPG I played
Yes. Why do EUfags always overstate the importance of their fan ficion? KotoRfags think everyone cares about Revan, Thranwfags think every Star Wars fan read their trilogy, etc.
Nah, you're just supplemental merchandise to cash in on the franchise and to advertise the movie, gone and forgotten by the next generation.
Neither the Thrawn books or KotoR are creating any new fans. They haven no use now and Disney has moved on to newer and not outdated merchandise.
Stop trying to bring back old shit you can't let go off because of nostalgia.
Well he also wrote the script with Kasdan and Arndt.
Didn't he also say that the film he made wasn't really what the Disney execs expected but they chose to go along with it nonetheless?
I'd say they're probably both to blame.
>He's perfectly capable of having strong non-romantic feelings.
Its biologically and physically impossible for a man and a woman to develop a strong bond and not have it become romantic.
That's partly why this new Zootopia movie is going to piss me off
First season is snooze fest. I said it as mega Star Wars autist who spent thousands of dollars on stupid EU stuff.
It`s dull. Only the last three episodes are okay-ish.
Second season is good.
>Well he also wrote the script with Kasdan and Arndt.
I don't believe for a second they had a free reign though.
>Didn't he also say that the film he made wasn't really what the Disney execs expected but they chose to go along with it nonetheless?
I doubt it but if you have a source on that I'll gladly read it.
Show us on the Kanan where the bad show touched you, little girl.
It is. Yoda explains this. It is meant to help someone transition from Knight to Master, by learning how to let go of attachments despite the rather obvious pull towards one's own Padawan.
KOTOR is being spammed on my facebook feed as being free if you download Amazon appstore spyware to your smartphone.
It was also bought a shitload on both Steam and GOG recently. Despite being over a decade old people are still buying it. Note that they are buying, not pirating, so they are probably normies.
>KoTOR was without a doubt the best thing about EU
KotOR was mediocre in all aspects and absolutely devoid of creativity (Bioware imagines a world 40,000 years in the past as being identical with only minor variations). KotOR is only good because it paved the way for KotOR2, which legitimately is one of the best things about Star Wars.
You need to take a breather, a drink, a smoke, a Prozac tablet, something.
How is your fan opinion more legitimate than anyone else?
Believe what you want. It won't change the fact that you will never hear about Kyle, Thrawn, Revan or Plagueis ever again in Disney's new media.
Maybe in 10 years when all the kids are talking about how awesome "Rebels" and "Boba Fett 2: Mo' Boba" were when they were kids you'll realize how this franchise really works, and you'll finally let go of old EU fan fiction.
Good Luck m8s.
>Leia and Yoda knew other Jedi existed but didn't tell Luke
Why do they have to break canon like this?
They should have just created new characters for mentor roles instead of relying on the same ones. Shit.
The Old Republic cruisers being canon is nice, I guess.
>(Bioware imagines a world 40,000 years in the past as being identical with only minor variations)
You can't blame them for that. Can't sell a game if it doesn't look 99% like the movies. KotoR was always a good re maging of the movies, but trying to place in the same timeline as the movies was always dumb.
Not once does it show them doing anything remotely Jedi-esq in front of her.
For all she knows they are Rebels.
And from the implications of Rogue one and trying to tie up the series neatly with canon, Kanaan, Ezra, and Ahsoka will die, thus making it to where Yoda is telling the truth.
The dark side isn't so advanced to prevent the birth of force sensitives, so in effect Yoda was always wrong.
>People can still write legends stuff if the really want.
Like hell. Disney won't let them write anything that doesn't advertise for the next anthology/sequel movie. Most of the new canon exists just so that you go see the next Star Wars movie coming out.
Well there's this
And also this
I meant unofficially. And disney only cares about $$$ if there's enough demand they'll revisit legends. It doesn't detract from their new universe
Remember they own marvel, pros at multi-verses
There was a Jaina Solo series being written that Disney cancelled immediately, legends exists so they can continue to make money off the old EU but they're never going to continue the story.
Kanan was only a Padawan before Order 66 removed the Jedi Order. "Jedi Padawan" is not a rank; "Jedi" only gets added to the title with Knight or Master. Ahsoka was also just a Padawan, because she didn't accept the Council's bullshit promotion at the end of her "banished from the Order" arc before she left.
> if there's enough demand they'll revisit legends.
But there won't be, they would really have to milk the franchise dry for them to go back to the old Legends stuff. That's like 20 years from now, and even then I don't seem the being that desperate.
EU isn't as big as you think. Look at the spin off movies, ANH prequel with Vader, Han Solo movies and Boba Fett movie. Pretty much the most iconic and culturally known characters across the world. They aren't moving back to legends anytime soon.
He was a Padawan and was 14 when his Master was killed. He was never made a Jedi Knight.
If you read that novel about his past, it shows how he went around not using the Force at all for 13 or so years. Not until a building was about to fall on a coworker did he break down and use the Force to prevent the dude from being crushed.
He was never knighted, therefore is not a Jedi. Just like how the Inquisitors aren't Sith.
ahsoka was a jedi, kanan is a jedi (he was a jedi padawan, and knight was never the prerequisite to be called a jedi. since he never left the order, he is a jedi), and ezra isn't a jedi but is training to become one
they are all going to die and i can't fucking wait for /co/ faggots to get blown the fuck out
you guys are being autists. The title doesn't mean as much as the lifestyle does. If you grew up in the jedi order for most of your life, adhere to their principles and teachings then you are for all intents and purposes a jedi.
I really wish they'd have stuck with the Clone Wars style of animation. This just feels much cheaper and I get the impression that they didn't use (or improperly used) exaggeration when creating the character models and scenes.
Most of the animation feels very flat.
Ahsoka may die in Rebels but the orange butt cheeks shall live forever.
Ahsoka was kicked out of the order, was offered to return, and she declined. She is not a jedi.
There was no order to finish his training. Do you call yourself a doctor if the medical school burned down and you were unable to complete your school? No you don't.
My father-in-law was raised Jehova's Witness until he was 17. He reflects none of their teachings in how he acts day-to-day or celebrates holidays.
>Adhere to their principles and teachings
Except Kanan does not. Neither does Ahsoka.
They couldn't even if they wanted to. TCW only looked good because loads of money was being pumped into the animation department. Said money was coming from Lucas, who lost the rights to SW after Disney. Rebels, being made post-buy out, has no reason for Lucas to dump money into. There is no way in hell Disney will be putting forth the amount of money per episode that Lucas was doing.
Yeah Disney is really nailing it
>Do you call yourself a doctor if the medical school burned down and you were unable to complete your school?
Let me guess, you think that without license you are not a doctor?
Look at this bootlicker right here.
he is yeah. even has the title
he can suck it
ffs they still use their jedi swords, still wear the uniform, still uphold jedi (most of the ) ideals, still follow the structure of master-padawan, etc.
But that's how it works. You get arrested for doing medicine without a license. People in the Navy that do medicine for the Navy can't do medicine normally outside of it without getting arrested, because of no legit license.
Notice that I said
>You didn't finish your schooling
If you haven't been instructed in certain vital aspects of human health, then no you are not a medical doctor and should not call yourself one.
>You haven't completed your training
>he is yeah. even has the title
Maul has never used the title of Darth post-TPM. To be a Sith, you have to have a Sith teacher (Sidious) and stay under their training until you betray them and become the Master. Maul got fucked up and was assumed dead, so he lost all rights to be a Sith. That's how it works.
I can wear crucifix, sit on my knees, and take eat Communion, but that doesn't make me Catholic.
Ahsoka follows some of their teachings but doesn't believe in the Order. Kanan never finishes the training. They are not Jedi.
Sorry senpai, we already got our new yoda
all you're arguing is letter vs spirit of the law, and youre arguing that so TECHNICALLY yoda isn't wrong if they survive
fine, even if he TECHNICALLY isn't wrong and they survive, everything is fine even though it's tonally and thematically (RETURN of the Jedi) a slap in the face to the entire series
good on you though
You didn't understand that post, did you?
Vader was fucked up but wasn't assumed dead. He was still Sidious' apprentice before and after Mustafar. Maul was Sidious' apprentice up until he got sliced in two. Then Sidious assumed he was dead and moved on to another apprentice, Dooku.
>The Prequels are fanfiction but Star Wars: Greatest Hits is cannon
Yeah, it kind of reminds me of those bad Flash dress-up games for girls where you just change the wigs and clothes to get a different character.
They sometimes fucked up in TCW (Dooku is probably the best... or worst example) but they at least all had different facial features.
People have been begging KoTOR to be retconned.
The fandom gets what it wants. I dont mind it.
We saw crossguard have a practical use in combat - Finns shoulder burning had a nice sound to it. Hope I`ll hear it again.
Concept art for Resistance superweapon.
I think we`ll see it in VIII.
Remember, Kylo says during his dialogue with Vaders helmet - '' Show me >again< , the power of darkness''.
Something must`ve happened in past that led Kylo to believe he had actual contact with Vader.
Art of Star Wars The Force Awakens. Can't find a pdf or a full scan online yet though.
Speaking of which, do you have all of the pages from the book or just random stuff?
Notice that the top middle character on this page ended up in Rebels. Filoni took this unused concept art from the movie and asked if he could put it in Rebels as an Inquisitor, which ended up happening. We still don't know what race it is, though.
Posting in random order, bored as fuck so gonna stop NOW.
Yeah - Rey slicing SSD`s mid-air with lightsaber was actually thought up.
Yes. That's the very start of the art book and the early stages of pre-production where the team was trying to figure out what to do with the villain (Kylo). Obviously it got changed quite a bit.
DARTH FUCKING MAUL
Called the fuck out of
him returning as a potential ally
