Finn is done really well as a character, he's likeable, has well defined traits, and flaws as well that can play into later character development and be overcome.
Rey on the other hand, isn't done well at all. She has no character flaws whatsoever, any 'mistakes' that she's made turned out to go better for her just because, and by the end of the movie, she's easily the most powerful character, bar Luke and maybe Snoke who even fucking knows. And there's only one direction for her to go as a protagonist, being the strongest WITHOUT training, training under fucking Luke fucking Skywalker is only going to make her even stronger, which means hooray, there's now ZERO tension in any fight she's in from now on. If she can beat Kylo Ren, who's spent his entire life training to be Darth Vader, with no training, why should anyone else ever pose a threat WITH training?
