Do you think Dicaprio will finally win an Oscar with his performance in The Revenant?
I think he actually will.
Memes aside it's probably his best performance in the best movie of the year, and the only real Oscarbait competition (that tranny movie with Redmayne) was very mediocre.
I predict it will win Best Picture too, I've made bets with my friends totaling almost $5000 that it will sweep the Oscars
the director basically said
>"let's take that quaalude scene from Wolf of Wall Street and make it into a movie"
it's a good survival movie, but that's all it is, Hardy was the best part of the movie.
Listen anon, he was really, really bad in The Revenant. Every time he opened his mouth to speak, he took you out of the movie because he was so fucking fake. I can't believe Innaritu, a guy who heavily criticized the state of Hollywood, decided to give a story a survival that worst kind of Hollywood spin he could. Turning it into a black and whit moral dilemma with a side of Native guilting.
The best performance in 2015 was
Adam Driver in TFA
Prove me fucking wrong.
Hardy was good, but he's done the "gruff, american accent" thing before. he did play a perfect villain, i gotta say.
That being said, Leo isn't going to win. Its just isn't going to happen with the climate of media that influences the awards. J-Law will probably win for that abortion of film "Joy" because they want to promote that a female lead drama can be successful even though the pacing was shit and while the cinematography was pretty good, a great shot of retards licking windows does not good cinema make.
Sorry about your lose.
Yes, my uncle votes and also helps with the gathering and calculation of votes from the south american continent, DiCaprio already won, i'll trynto take a pic of the excel file next time he comes to my house
>mfw fat momma starts stomping and the support beams bellow her creak and groan.
I don't think he washed it very often
he didnt if we go off the real person this is based on. The real guy got killed by tree niggers about a decade after this happened to him
then again tom hardy's character also joins the military and doesnt get killed and glass never had a son
>In fact the real story the character goes through some worse stuff
w-what sort of stuff?
>gets the bear skin sowed to his back to cover his wounds.
badass. too bad they couldn't fit it into the movie somehow
Another cool tidbit is that some Indians posing as a friendly tribe was trying to fool some guys and one of them recognized a rifle that an Indian had as Hugh Glass's that he had got back from Firzgerald after tracking him down.
Also he let maggots on a rotting tree trunk eat the dead flesh off his back while in the forest to prevent gangrene.
Speaking of him never having a son, what the hell was all that stuff about his wife and the skull mounds relate too? Also was that his biological son or did he just find the baby and take him in?
What was Bane talking about with the squirrel being god?
I could not understand a word he said before that
They didn't have time to organize an expedition, and the more men they had the slower and louder they would have been
Also it was a thing where Glass needed to do it on his own, the Captain only went along because he wouldn't let Glass go alone
>The Revenant sweeping the oscars
Kek somebody is gonna lose a lot of money. Spotlight and Mad Max will stop The Revenant from winning more than one award. Probably best cinematography is the only one it will win.
Yep. Fassbender should probably get it, but his movie was a flop.
So they'll give DiCaprio his pity Oscar to make him stop campaigning so hard and embarrassing himself every year.
In terms of what will actually be given Oscar attention;
Probably Redmayne, Fassbender. Maybe one of those Lifetime achievement awards for Caine in Youth.
Del Toro MAYBE, but I think he's going to settle being a lock for best supporting.
They could have an upset and go with Sam Jackson...Not really a lead though.
