As a pleb still firmly in his fedora phase who is only just starting to get into "real" cinema, this may seem troubling to you, but something like There Will Be Blood may as well be Transformers 4 or Marvel Capeshit #76 in terms of how low down the cinematic ladder it is.

I'm not saying you can't enjoy it, but you certainly don't get to come to a cinema board and then tip your fedora about it. You're that guy on facebook lording it over his friends because he "understood" Inception. Except you're not on facebook now. This is an art board. People here are appreciating high level cinematic wonders that you would never come close to comprehending at this stage.

It's a pretty good character study. There's a lot of good acting in it.

I thought it was pretty good. At first I thought it's overrated IMDB tier trash for fedora tippers. Then when I watched it for the 3rd time it finally grew on me. Daniel Day-Memis is the best part of this movie, watching his descent into madness is great. Some good cinematography too, although underwhelming.

There Will Be Blood is quintessential fedoracore. Flashy crap that's more shallow than the director wants you to believe always appeals to imdb fedora kiddies.
