When are we going to get more Penn & Teller's BULLSHIT? Will a Netflix deal work?
Even if you don't agree with their politics (and I often did not), this show was comfy as fuck. I hope it comes back and they do some episodes on feminism/leftism.
Honestly, probably. Now that I think about it this show was probably a large part of the reason I ended up libertarian-leaning. I watched this show before I was even aware of such political distinctions. But once I got back into it a couple years ago and realized the amount of bias they had I actually did look back on it less fondly, even though I still really enjoyed the episodes.
I spent a good several days watching over the episodes and playing video games in between so yea I look back on it as a comfy experience.
admit it, has one of your beliefs ever been trashed by the Trashman himself?
When they develop opposing points of view they always choose the worst possible proponent for the view they want to debunk.
Their 'experiments' are laughable, and they even admit that, but what's the point of doing them in the first place? It just shows that they want to be being-right-porn, and not actually portray facts.
Sure it's easy to do that when you're debunkung homeopathy or magnetic yoga matts, but it's also very dishonest.
A few episodes of this were complete crap. The fitness one for example would make /fit/ roll in their grave.
>Claiming someone died from cod liver oil.
>Claiming no supplements work at all.
>Claiming steroids make you huge with no effort.
>Claiming none of it matters anyway unless you're naturally born swole as fuck you can never be big.
9/11 episode was pure shilling too.
>This firefighter saw the planes hit the towers! He rescued someone. That proves 9/11 was a terrorist attack and not the Jews.
>Hypnotism which is a proven medical procedure that has been used for centuries successfully by psychiatrists, psychologists and magicians is totally fabricated and a scam!
Were they ever wrong about anything?
As is everyone. It's impossible to eliminate bias in human beings regardless of their ideology. That's the point. Bullshit is bullshit, so is everything and every person that has ever existed. General honesty is a lie.
They are talking about world peace and one of the guys they interviews identifies as a socialist, the screen freezes the needle scratches the record and they say
"You know Hitler called himself a socialist, and he wasn't a first class peace keeper"
It's just a lazy way to discredit someone without actually addressing the other person's opinion on the subject.
