I don't think the main case of the documentary was that he was innocent of the crime, but that the court admitted unlawful evidence that contributed to his conviction. Even your article admits this. I ultimately don't know and don't care who committed the crime. Framing someone doesn't mean the victim innocent or guilty of the alleged crime, but it's still illegal to do so, and those responsible need to be held accountable.
