>Sr., Biology
Oh shit. It was unironically him.
The brother prolly didn't do it to be honest. I can understand his reaction zeroing in on Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey. The only contact he had with the case was the prosecution, on top of that he'll probably want to have some closure and having SOMEONE in jail for it would be enough. Wouldn't even matter if said person actually did it, as long as someone was locked up for it.
>>64699733

>Avery convicted of murder
>Not guilty of mutilating the body
What?
>>64700204
The murder conviction is enough to fuck his life up.
>>64700268
I know that, but how can the jury vote guilty for the murder and not guilty for the mutilation? The two go hand-in-hand according to the prosecution
>>64700204
They were under the impression (thanks to the massive media campaign launched by the prosecution long before the trial) that Brendan had done most of the violent shit. And Brendan was found guilty for those counts, despite the sheer lack of any trace of evidence (Lenk didn't have access to a vial with Brendan's blood, most likely.)
>>64700327
It's bumfuck nowhere, Wisconsin. Half the people on the jury probably are as intelligent as Dassey.
Avery did it
>>64700083
Her brother also "guessed" her password.
>>64700204
The jury believed there was enough evidence to connect Steven to the murder but not enough evidence that he mutilated the body. You gotta keep in mind that the mutilation came from Brendan's confession which wasn't used in Steven's trial.
>>64700114
I was surprised how well he stood up in that questioning. He didn't give any conflicting statements and stuck to his guns.
Friendly reminder that this thread is pointless and you should all go back to reddit :)

Even if you believe that the blood in Halbach’s car was planted by the cops , there was also non-blood DNA evidence on the hood latch. I don’t believe the police would plant — or know to plant — that evidence.

Yep, I'm a genius.
Also, a lab tech testified the DNA could have come from his own glove, as he was handling other items of Avery's in the lab before inspecting the car.

I don't think the main case of the documentary was that he was innocent of the crime, but that the court admitted unlawful evidence that contributed to his conviction. Even your article admits this. I ultimately don't know and don't care who committed the crime. Framing someone doesn't mean the victim innocent or guilty of the alleged crime, but it's still illegal to do so, and those responsible need to be held accountable.
>ere are people that voted for just Ryan as the murderer and not Ryan and the brother

It's incredibly stupid good. If you like movies/tv series about detectives and crime then this is that at it's finest. But if you been reading the threads you probably have been spoiled a lot so a lot of the turns and twists won't be as tense.
Why were they so hellbent on getting Brendan arrested for life?
They only tried to get a confession from him initially because they needed to use him to pin Steven. They ended up getting their main man, he was arrested for the murder and destruction of the body and evidence.
So why go so hellbent on imprisoning a 16 year old when they know he didn't do anything? That's sadistic as fuck. Kratz is scum

the way it works in the real world is hard workin cops walkin the beat get the bad guys and if in the process you get a boot in the eye, tough shit, then they smack em around a bit in interrogations
this is the way law works, not like your crappy tv shows
generals are for fags fuck off

>>64703054
I don't claim to be expert either. It's a huge country. In a big city with a lot of major criminal cases there are probably better standards. Manitowoc doesn't have the same experience and were overeager to convict.
>>64703080
She was on probation and he is a convicted felon.
Probation is a compromise: we'll let you out of jail if you abide by these terms.
No contact with convicted felons is a standard term of probation.

>people on /tv/ have standards this low
Holy fuck, how ugly are you guys?
One thing I couldn't get past was the Colburn call, when he was asking about the missing vehicle and says "99 TOYOTA"..before she was reported missing?
Also my theory is either the ex boyfriend did it alone or with one of the brothers. (Why else be so adamant in the search party, also somehow accessed and deleted voicemails and led her cousin to her Rav-4). But with the Avery lawsuit about to take place the department being sued was obviously watching Avery and his home and saw a chance to pin this on him.
Either that or the cops straight up killed him. No DNA at the scenes, just pieces of paper and a magazine that "confirmed" she went in the trailer. Also Dassey's brother and Avery's brother in law had some mixed up stories that the prosecution was relying on way too much.

SHe was already reported missing. What was fishy was that this guy called in the plates two days before the car was found. If he'd seen it, why not report it then?
The implication is that yes they found the car, knew Theresa was flimsily linked to Avery, and saw an opportunity to pin this on him.

>>64703609
Their stupid rednecks. They've lived their whole lives on their property and have rarely ever left it. It's not as easy for them as more well-traveled people to just up and leave for another town. I wouldn't even be surprised if this property has been in that family's possession for generations.
>Tfw Brendan's cousin cries and lies on the witness stand because she doesn't want Brendan to go to jail
JUST
>>64703778
Because they probably called in every favour they had to make sure the FBI guy had a test made (that hadn't been done in years) and have it ready in a few days (when it usually takes months) to rule out the vial was used for staging the car. That felt like the big turning point in the case.
>the judge rejects someone getting rid of their own counsel

That's the thing that baffled me the most. It was literally ignored by everyone.

>>64703912
Friendly reminder that 4chan is Literally Reddit: The Website
>>64703885
They focussed on him because he was the face of the trial for the family of Theresa and used to milk sympathy from the public at every turn. Also he seemed really off and like he absolutely loved being in the limelight.
>>64703912
>today I'm going to go to 4chan and make another post about reddit
>>64703881
"Framed" implies he's innocent. He very well may be the killer but the sheriff's department most certainly planted evidence to ensure the conviction. The lack of a murder site and definitive cause of her death is enough reasonable doubt as far as I'm concerned.

>>64704066
that's what I mean, there was literally no blood in his house or garage. just her own in her trunk (probably when she was transported from where she was killed) and three random spots of avery's blood.
If he was so smart in cleaning up his crime scenes (but not his hoarding garage, where blood surely would splatter on something in that mess) how could he be so lazy in missing the car.
I loved reading Kratz comment on the film, saying a lot of evidence was left out in order to help the defense, like how she visited Avery a few times and he always asked for her over the phone, even seeing her while wearing only a towel etc. He doesn't shower..clearly

Which is just insane:
>raped her
>cut her hair
>cut her throat
>still alive
>drag her to the garage and shoot her
Btw, how did they even come to the conclusion that she was shot in the head when there was no skull?
>"Are you telling me, right now, that even though you never tested three other swabs of separate bloodstains found elsewhere in the RAV4 vehicle, that you're willing to express an opinion that none of those three swabs had EDTA either?"
>"Okay, just wanted to know how far you were willing to go."
Makes me fucking furious.
Are there any betting lines on what happens if Steve gets out?
Does he go Prize hunting and kill Kenny K?
Does he become the most prolific serial killer in American history?
Does he move to Canada and instantly be implicated in the murder of liberal college student?
Does he go back to the Avery metal farm?

Him? dunno
>>64704408

>>64704393

>>64704404
Forensically, they had a charred skull fragment with a round wound similar to what a bullet would cause.
Realistically, whoever burned the body (who may or may not have been the murderer) saw Theresa had been shot in the head. Then it was just a matter of pressing Brendan into giving that statement.
btw, did they ever mention testing the bones for DNA if possible? how we even know it was really Theresa if not

>>64704894
Not exactly, it would only prove that yes it's Theresa's key and her DNA was in there because she grabbed it every day.
It becomes extra suspicious because ONLY Steve's dna was on it. So why even bother bleaching it? Maybe because whoever killed her and/or moved her car forgot to wear gloves or something.
