What tv's opinion on this guy
>Which celebrities are gonna get BTFO tonight?
If he's so wrong why doesn't Christianity produce a comeback? Can they give a reason for why their God lets children get aids and starve to death, apart from muh suffering like christ suffered?
>there are people that still think we're a christian image board
>not realizing that since gook moot took over, we Buddhist now
Human beings beyond your own existence are not provable to be any different than a highly complex artificial intelligence. The children that starve, and by extension, all suffering external to yourself, are machinations by God (in this case a shorthand for a higher power) and serve as vehicles for developing your own righteousness and compassion. Their suffering is a question, to which empathy or the lack thereof is the answer.
At least, that's one take on it
This image was literally made by Ricky Gervais himself.
He's a legitimate fedoracore piece of shit who used to be a cool, calm, light hearted and rational fat man that was funny, only to be ruined by his ego and Hollywood. All from riding on the coat tail of Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.
I thought the original british The Office was by far superior to all others, and loved how annoying his manager character was. Then I found out the actor is really that annoying irl. I can't watch him in anything he just gets on my nerves. And he will dress and act like he is in good shape but he is genetically incapable of that.
The thing that makes me sympathetic to Gervais is that it's issues like children dying that should spur on Christians to work to make the world a better place. Religious passivity/'god has a plan' pisses me off to no end since it's predominantly the practice of a coddled middle-class.
Celeb leaks jokes all night? Come on, it's too perfect for him not too
>this next film stars the oscar nominated bradley cooper and the oscar winner jennifer lawrence who is perhaps most famous for proving that pornstars don't have a monopoly on men's wanking habits
He knows parts of Christianity because he grew up in a Christian Country around Christians. His original reasons for atheism is based on his understanding of evolution (was a biology major that flunked out). Only recently has he become more militant and retarded, I mean he attacks the existence of Jesus. Atheist or not his existence is well established. He's no theologian by any means and his attacks on the philosophy of God are infantile and retarded... However his attacks on the existence of God isn't only attacking Christianity, it's an affront to all abrahamic religions. the fact that Christians or sympathisers take the viewpoint that Gervais only attacks Christianity shows that they are just as narrow minded and self centred as he is.
>He specifically goes after Christianity
Only if you are ignorant enough to assume the concept of 'God' is purely a Christian one. Seeing as how you are incapable of thoroughly reading my post, I'll just assume you are and slip out of this conversation.
BASED BILLY BURR told in one of his recent podcasts that this english cunt hires roast writers to write his jokes.
I was honestly disappointed, I like Gervais and enjoyed his GG performances.
Yes, little known fact: Ricky Gervais used to be genuinely great. As you say, he was cool and calm. So laid back and, believe it or not, really humble about his success with The Office.
Bill Bur has never been nor never will be funny. He's too little, too late. He's edgy, sarcastic, cynical, pessimistic and contrarian in a sea of edgy, sarcastic, cynical, pessimistic and contrarian comedians, and nothing to set himself apart. He's the poor man's Louis C.K.
Gervais was great from 2001 to around 2010. He does seem to be going through a midlife crisis or something lately though. He was fucking embarrassing on that talking funny show with the other comedians, and Derek is one of the worst shows I have ever seen.
Burr was just guessing. Gervais got some input from Stephen Merchant on the first few golden globes but didn't have any writers.
>no mention of Charlie Sheen
This 2bh. He can be a funny guy but he's not a comedian, or even a particularly great writer or actor with any range. He loves fame though and is a massive Ameriboo so it's no surprise he's working the American celebrity circuit fro all its worth, from now on he'll just milk it and live on past glories.
Because I grew out of DUDE FUCK RELIGION AMIRIGHTxD after I became an adult.
>Gervais is a coward like a lot of left wingers. He criticizes Christians (who are by and large harmless) and rarely mentions Islam.
Atheists, and liberals alike, are indeed cowards for not calling out Islam as being just as fucking stupid as Christianity.
>not being an obnoxious faggot makes you a Christian
>He's the poor man's Louis C.K.
No he isn't.
Why do people type shit?
Long time fan of his. I can say truthfully he has lost a good portion of his edge in his age.
He's not funny when he's edgy for the sake of edge, he's funny when he's using edge to show people how absurd something is. In the first two Golden Globes he hosted he was making fun of the whole song and dance, he was saying how celebrities were unfairly seen as royalty. He was the classic Ricky we all loved.
In the 3rd Globes he did he made fun of Biber, Sex and the City, and Johnny Depp again. He was NOT funny, and showed us the Ricky he had become in the last few years.
That's why this year I'm hoping he shows us he still has some spark left in him.
>What the fuck they're making fun of me
>Surely it's because they're ignorant, superstitious Christians
>Yeah, that's definitely it
>It's not because I'm an annoying faggot, no sir
making karl pilkington famous was his greatest work
mfw gervais career is defined in a downward sloping line, each subsequent creation of his being exactly half as good as what came before it
>issues like children dying that should spur on Christians to work to make the world a better place
I'm not a Christian but take a quick look at how many hospitals, schools and other positive ventures are currently helping people all over the third world, funded purely by Christian efforts in the west. Compare that to the achievements of Atheism, Islam, Judiaism etc and Christians really come off as the "good guys."
My personal theory is that lots of people are naturally compassionate and the Christian community they were raised in gives their good intentions some kind of direction and organisation, just like some people are naturally sociopathic and can use the same religion as a justification to commit horrific crimes. Without religion they'd still behave the way they do, they'd just tell themselves they're doing it for a different reason. Or maybe religion creates a kind of feedback loop: Good people create a "good" religion and use it to explain their good behaviour (and vice versa), then the religion affects new generations and pushes them further towards the tendencies that created the religion. This is a subject for /his/, anyway...
I'm a big fan of Gervais' work but he maybe takes his position as a celeb too seriously with all this atheist proselytism. Either that or he genuinely enjoys trolling everybody he can, as much as he can. I'm currently listening to the original XFM radio show he did with Smerch and Pilks and that seems more and more like the case. He's one of those people that are very entertaining to watch from a distance but you'd never want to meet them.
I'm from England and I have barely met any muslims.
I see them by the dozen lining the streets of my hometown, loitering and opening shops and mosques but they usually keep to their own neighbourhoods. Even second generation muslims tend to speak with an accent because they refuse to let their kids associate with "infidels."
Gervais (and many other people in the media) obviously go after Christianity because they're a soft target. Attack the Jewish religion and you could be blacklisted, lose work and potentially be attacked by the media as "anti-semitic" (see Mel Gibson). Attack Islam and you could be in real physical danger. Attack Buddhism and people won't have sympathy because those little chinese fellas never hurt anyone, get off their case! Attack atheism and you'll be branded a religious nut. Attack Christianity and they generally turn the other cheek while the Jewish community will see you as an ally (Jews and Christians generally don't get along).
>Bill Bur has never been nor never will be funny
How do you know if you haven't heard all his stuff? If you have heard all his stuff, why are you continuing to listen to a guy you don't find funny?
Just because you personally don't find him funny doesn't mean shit, he's one of the most popular and successful funnymen in the world right now and that's the only objective measure of whether someone is funny.
If he's not funny then why do I laugh?
