Am I the the only one rewatching getting ready for the new season?
Nearly finished season 8, damn mulder was such a cunt to dogget when he got back. Completely unlikeable smug asshole.
I watched it as it aired back in the day, the mythology bullshit is a lot easier to follow when marathoning it but it's clear when they just started making shit up with no grand plan like lost. Like wtf happened to that grey alien that was living in the core of the nuclear reactor? Never to be mentioned again.
I'm on my second time through. Really wanna give scully my background in hard science
Dogget was a shit. His face is where charisma went to die.
I remember at the time being quite excited by the possibility of Bruce Campbell or Lou Diamond Phillips being the replacement but instead...
The episode where mulder admits he is only interested in a case because the female detective is named "bj" and scully rolls her eyes at him.
In 2016 the tumblrites and sjw feminists would shut it down asap.
>it's a Scully suddenly isn't a cunt to Agent Doggett anymore because Gillian too was considering leaving the show and they really needed the audience to warm up to Doggett & Reyes even though everyone knew they were both shit episode
Remember when 10 little aliens ran past scully in a train tunnel and tickled her and shit while they went past but she said she saw nothing because the aliens bumping into her caused her to drop her flashlight.
Have you seen how they look? There is NO fucking way they can be used in flashbacks. Byers is fucking fat now.
Besides, they can use a reason LIKE the comic. Not the comic itself.
>watching the behind the scenes featurette thing for the revival
>skinner says the files haven't been touched in mulder's office since he left the bureau
>even though almost everything was taken out of the office in the finale
>smoking man alive
>after I saw him melted down to the skeleton
chris you bastard
I know this goes without saying, but marathoning the episodes back to back (as opposed to one a week like in the 90s) does have a downside in that it makes it even more apparent how much it doesn't make sense that Scully believes nothing weird or alien related is going on every single time. It's like bitch you personally stole an alien fetus at the end of season one and saw a man assassinated right before your eyes an hour later because of it. Its a fun nostalgia though.
I've been marathoning the fuck out of it and almost nothing makes sense.
I like it, the the writing and continuity is sometimes so off kilter that even the mediocre MotW episodes (especially the comedic ones) are a nice break from the alien/conspiracy shit.
I watched them all on FOX when I was kid
bought all the seasons a couple of years ago and re watched them extensively
I'm fully aware of what to look for once the miniseries starts
Still hate Agent Doggett
>>smoking man alive
>>after I saw him melted down to the skeleton
This also shits me.
They literally made a point of showing an up-close shot of his face DISINTEGRATING in the finale so there were no doubts he was dead.
Just started season 2. I find this show super comfy for some reason. Must be because of how dated it is.
>mfw they mention my hometown in the first season
dated doesn't make a show good per se. I think it's the slow pace mostly, and it tries to set up a comfy theme.
Nowadays, even if a show goes by the same routine "case by case" episode, they don't think about making it comfy cause they're so afraid of losing their audience everytime.
it's hard to pick just one, I've decided to group my favorite Mytharc and MOTW episodes
1. Redux II
2. One Son
3. Memento Mori
4. Paper Clip
7. The Red and the Black
8. The Blessing Way
10. The End
Season 1-3 MOTW (this is where a lot of fan favorites can be found)
1. Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose
3. Jose Chung’s From Outer Space
4. Die Hand Die Verletzt
5. The Host
9. War of the Coprophages
10. Dod Kalm
Season 4-6 MOTW (show peaked at Season 4 and 5 imo, a lot of good Mytharc and MOTW episodes)
1. Field Trip
4. Unusual Suspects
5. Folie a Deux
8. Bad Blood
9. Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man
10. Post-Modern Prometheus
I'm still finishing Season 9
yeah that's a good one too, Duchovny really knows how to make good MOTW episodes that aren't focused on Mulder
Gillian Anderson on the other hand >>64695914
