Let's get some cool as shit operator movie recommendations going. Just saw Sicario, it was alright but Del Taco was great.
The Way of the Gun isn't really about operators as such, but all the action was choreographed by a Navy SEAL.
>mfw the soft version of the theme song plays while they're sneaking around
>When he sneaks out and sticks the bananna in the car exhaust so they can't follow him
Legit Operator Tier
>bargain bin at the gas station had the red dawn/navy seals 2pack
He's from the Taco region of Spain. Del means "of the".
I liked the action but could not stand the main premise where the heroine is appalled at mild actions undertaken against mexican drug cartel.
After she found some 30 bodies and was shot and saw skinned bodies hanging, she was still going pissy about some protocol...
it was engagingly stupid
>a group of elite ex-military operators seize control of an isolated island and a bunch of hostages, then threaten to launch wmds against the mainland usa
>a man with a unique ability to infiltrate the area is sent in, supported by a nerdy weapons expert and a team of us marines
>tactical espionage action ensues
>I liked the action but could not stand the main premise where the heroine is appalled at mild actions undertaken against mexican drug cartel.
I think she was appalled that the US government through its CIA goons were basically using her as cover to prop up another drug cartel.
I can't figure out why she would be so appaled by the CIA behaving like that. It's pretty much common knowledge that the CIA has always been up to all kinds of morally grey stuff.
>supported by a nerdy weapons expert and a team of us marines
They were SEALS and they got BTFO by Ed Harris's marines
No, that came as great reveal at the end
she was pissy way WAY before that
it would made good turn, if they would make her enthusiastic in the first part where it was just going hard after the cartels because of safety of citizens
>Escapes a massive gunfight that he went full operator in
>Doesn't check his arcs as soon as he goes through a door
Stupidest peice of tv writing in 2015
Still mad as fuck about it
They don't learn from history (North Hollywood Shootout)
It still pisses me off that Bay made an action movie this fucking great and then spent the rest of his career pissing in his audience’s face.
Maybe Tarantino needs to do uncredited re-writes on ALL his movies.
no it's not. pain and gain is "look at this idiots fucking laugh at these idiots aren't they funny", wolf of wall street is "look how morally corrupt people can be when money's involved"
Pain & Dwayne would have been something special if Bay didn't have to force his Bay-isms into it.
>LOL LOOK THAT PRIEST TRIED TO MOLEST THE ROCK
>LOL LOOK THE FAT AUSTRALIAN CHICK FROM PITCH PERFECT LOVES BLACK COCK LOOK HOW FUNNY IT IS
And fucking surprise none of that happened in real life either. Turns out "based on a true story" only matters until Bay shoves his grade-school humor in.
I'm pretty sure "stealing every trick from Tony Scott's playbook" doesn't make you an auteur.
And the only other good movies on that list are Bad Boys and half of The Island.
Would you hang this patrician oper8r painting in your house?
I would hang this. Mann is based as fuck, though
>he thinks "based on a true story" means anything
dude ain't Delta, he's a fucking spook, he and Brolin's character are fucking SOG.
that movie did that type of shit really well imo, the fucking Texas lawmen are literal fucking Cowboys too, shit was so well done.
75th brothers are riding high on themselves right now.
they roll with delta when delta needs a spearhead or a distraction that is going to be more than just noise ("wreck shit while we hit the x"), they're not going to take a squad of rangers along with them on a practically illegal dark job.
this is all speculation of course, but it wouldn't make sense with that few vehicles to attach a few rangers with a delta unit that works well together.
-little or no recoil
-hipfiring to hit long range targets
-near unlimited ammo magazines at times
-car doors stopping rifle and machine gun rounds
-not taking the shot when someone is using a hostage as a shield but has most of their head and body exposed, a common action movie cliche (actually, they did it once in the first season but never again for some reason)
-people get shot but carry on easily
-silencers sound like a whisper
-people die instantly from knifethrows
nigga if you were getting paid big bucks to slot hajis and be bored all day you do some cray shit too
>shooting people far away literally without aiming and still hitting
For operator shows, The Unit sort of fits
However, it suffers from strange casting (imo) and horrible annoying sideplots with the wives.
>What is an operator movie?
An operator are the delta force and CIA SAD guys who do shit we'll never hear about
Her character made sense, it was just very forced. She was trained to go by the book and adhere strictly to the rules and what not. Whereas there is no book or rules for guys like Del Toro and Brolin's characters and she was appalled by that. But yea they definitely pushed it a bit too much with her. Especially the scene with her claiming she was going to tell everyone about what happened.
>Especially the scene with her claiming she was going to tell everyone about what happened.
They should have just killed her after that and covered her up as killed by the cartel.
The cinemax seasons are better in every way except for how schlocky they made the realism during gunfights. There's one episode where you could tell which parts were made by sky and which were made by cinemax. The bus scenes felt very british.
>watching Strike Back for the first time
>chasing terrorist perp in Baghdad
>shoot perp in middle of busy street
>walk over to body on ground
>take off helmet out in the open to signify the scene is over
There are so few movies that can do the badass assassin characters without being "ebin bad asses" (aka trying way too hard)
Sicario was probably the best operator movie I've ever seen
No country for old men
Maybe even Rambo
wouldn't be surprised if they thought of that
heard that blunt changed the ending
looked into it, the og ending was
del toro assaulting blunt in a graphic manneri'd say it turned out better but i would have liked the cover up idea
>I dont know what you mean
....but I think you do my friend, I think you do.
>you will never walk up to your targets, give them a hint that you have found them, then look away making them think you are focusing somewhere else before you turn back and spray them
>mfw only know that guy from the dank brad pitt memes
>mfw he actually has an oscar
Delta is used for operations that the USA never wants to shine light on or can not allow for a fuck up. The CIA has SAD but that's a whole different beast in that they just fuck shit up when they walk through the door.
>ywn lunge at him with a machete, only to have him kill you in 3 seconds flat
Yeah. Cartel guys are not the brightest, crooked mexican cop in the convoy is not the brightest, that another crooked cop who tried to kill heroine is not the brightest, hell - everyone in the way of muh glorious operating operators are just happen to be exactly in the right place at the right time (mexican cop at the end of the tunnel), stop the car at the right place in the right time while not crying for help or just scream in pain, or not the brightest. Like i said -
>Millenium Challenge 2002 level shit.
Now get back to fapping to trigger discipline, /k/unt.
The character couldn't be male? It had to be a female? I am not a feminist, but an egalitarian, but I can honestly say I understand that people are upset about this movie. It's like it was made 20 years ago.
Strike Back is okay. Season 1 with Richard Armitage was better than the later Skinemax stuff though.
My favourite operatorcore TV show is Person of Interest though, and it wins even more points for basically being Sci-Fi at the same time.
It's like the greatest operatorcore-trilogy in existence
literal NAVY FUCKING SEALS portraying Navy Seals on a patriotic misson
please GTFO to reddit and never comeback
youre the reasen 4Chans movie board has gone to shits
Same as all you fucking c*nt newfags
the movie was boring as shit you dumb nigger. you think navy seals can be good actors?
fucking THE MUHREEN was a more entertaining movie. go suck some soldiers dick you mong.
>This entire thread
You fucking tourists should go back to /v/
the teenage love aspect of commitnent just ruined the movie for me. Good concept, the sleeper spy, but shit execution.
company man was all right, but a level below the three I mentioned. I just did not care for it as much
personally i wouldn't put TMFN anywhere near the suspect, can't remember if i've seen berlin file though.
should check out no tears for the dead too if you havent, same guy who made the man from nowhere
I will check it out, seems interesting.
I think TMFN counts because he really goes wild at the end of the movie.
Berlin File is basically Bourne movie made by South Korea which involves a North Korean agent. Check it out if you haven't already
>Delta is used for operations that the USA never wants to shine light on or can not allow for a fuck up. The CIA has SAD but that's a whole different beast in that they just fuck shit up when they walk through the door.
I think they're pretty much the same thing at this point.
Yeah it's so unbelievable that she wasn't "enthusiastic" about secretly getting in gun battles in a heavily populated area. She wasn't enthused about all the murder and secret extradition and pissing on constitutional law.
