It's not like BSG in anyway, but it is still good even if it isn't like BSG.
I just watched ep. 5 and this was the episode that assured me I was watching a good show.
Space mormons and their ship become very important.
I was seriously surprised how good episode 5 was.
Episode 1 was okay, and episode 2 did a lot of character building but was a lot of meh.
3 and 4 were great, but the source material means those episodes are going to be good to great, so I expected a bit of a let down of five.
But 5 was nicely mature storytelling and the first one to make Miller side of the story really "Okay, show me more".
I saw the potential in first four but like I said >>64658790 here - episode 5 won my heart and it wasn't even a fucking contest.
This show has lots and lots of passion behind it I think? The way they use hands and language with Belter people is amazing. I love the attention to detail there.
Fantastic world building really. I can't shit on this show at all right now
The best scene so far is the doctor/medic dying though. The sound vanishing, slowmotion, that was JACKPOT
Also was this Terminator 1 respect? Tech Noir is a party club where Terminator tries to kill Sarah Connor while John is trying to save her (and does)
Damn good catch anon.
It also apparent that they can't get all of the first book finished, since they are pacing it slower, which means a lot of fun is yet to come in the okayed season 2
She really is doing a good job with a nothing role.
I also wonder if with the changes in the story
If they will go to the Anubis or Eros first.
I have missed Thomas Jane, he is like made for detective roles.
Also the boss >>64657657 in this scene was great. That dominance and tone of her voice, the last bit 'if he ends up shot out of airlock, well that's life'
Actors are getting more comfy with being filmed and with others, even the Fantastic Four are playing off each other better >>64658427 this was a heartfelt little character moment.
Her looks are really changed by the short hair. She was in the first 1 1/2 seasons of Criminal Minds as a cop as well.
And I think you are right, everyone is now understanding their character. Also I like how Amos has become not only the humor of the ship but also the heart of the ship. And now since Holden and Naomi can have that develop in a reasonable manner, after the character conflict they showed in episode 2.
I also thought merging Lopez and Kelly in episode 4 was a smart move. And liked how they handled his burial in 5.
No, but they been living in a rock their entire life.
much to the joy or hate of readers/viewers, later on there will be vomit zombies as a alien biological computer tries to add biomass to itself.
Hope they can really fucking go deep into each faction and their characters. Even the little bit of what we saw of Martians made me excited, the contempt Belters feel towards Earth is also very well done.
I am a tit guy, but damn that a nice ass to hold on to.
Shame the Cant Nav and the MCRN weapons officer died.
(episode 5 spoiler just in case)
Why did miller pass the opportunity to get the wanted guy? He did harm his partner after all..Is this because he didn't want to owe the opa leader with weird accent?
Also I decided to not read the books because I liked the shock when I first saw the
medic death sceneand the anticipation in general(meanwhile having read asoiaf beforehand made watching got boring and unsatisfying for me), but it makes reading these threads like walking on thin ice.
All the CANT characters will die before the end of season 2
Mars is working with Venus to take over Jupiter and its satellite
The glowing thing are humans from the future
The ice cracked
>Shame the Cant Nav and the MCRN weapons officer died.
The latter we are now calling /splash/
Having read the first book recently I really doubt that spoiler.
>Rocinante means workhorse
This triggers me. Was the error intentional? It's pretty romantic to name the ship Rocinante if you know what it actually stands for.
I must look at Naomi to see how a normal person would react in this situation.
Actually his lack of social filter is starting to grow on me. Especially in Ep5 his
implied offer to re-arrange Holden's face
Killjoys and Darkmatter are going to be fucked
it's exactly the sort of name an asshat like Holden would choose.
Might explain why he prefers Julie though.
>I knew a lady named Rocinante. She was good to me
Yeah, 30 billion people. You have to get a bit creative after a while.
show is a convoluted mess and should be put down.
i don't care about any of the flat characters. the special effects are nothing to write home about.
this show is reddit. literally. not sure if i should just drop it. every episode is boring as shit. woo we are stuck in bad situation in space. woo im going to find that girl. woo i am a filthy arab bitch who sucks dicks. every plotline is just more of the same drab bullshit over and over.
>Literally everyone in the show has common contemporary/ethnic belter names
You're kidding right, there's literally tonnes of unusual names:
Dookie (My favourite)
>woo i am a filthy arab bitch who sucks dicks.
I've got to know who you mean.
>Arjun - Very common
>Ade Nygaard - Also very common
>Dookie - Nickname, doesn't really count
>Neville Bosch - You're kidding right?
>Vargas - Also pretty common
>Shaddid - Literally what? Have you met anyone from outside the U.S. before?
>Ade Nygaard - Name right out of Scandinavia
>Diogo - Slight take on Diego
The rest are once again, ethnic/believable names that a belter would have.
That's the name that a pretentious stripper/hooker gives herself.
You know what? It's more believable now.
I was never here.
>I still think dark matter is better because it doesn't take itself as seriously so the mistakes it makes are more acceptable.
Dark Matter is good but not as good as this.
My personal opinion.I am watching it,joys and this and i like them both but the expanse is the best out of the 3 so far.
One of the characters on Dark Matter is the prince of Xion (or something, can't remember) and it's basically Space-Japan and it's unintentionally hilarious.
Miller's not that bad!
We should have a whip round and buy Max a fedora. I but he'd love it.
The issue is that 99% of the things the expanse tries to be serious about is wrong on several levels both on a micro level (why didn't he do this?) and a macro level (that's not how physics work, there's no way any group would adopt such a policy under the circumstances, there's no way so or so tech wouldn't exist given that this other tech does, etc.)
Not true. Anubis is always relevant.
Killjoys is Flashpoint in space. I wanted to like it, but it took every cliched Temple Street "notice me" camera trick and cranked it to 11.
There might be a good a story in there, but I can't be assed to find it. Dark Matter was much more engaging with a fraction of the budget.
