What are some more visually stunning animated films besides this, Angel's Egg and Tale of Tales?
Recobbled cut, not the Miramax shit.
Also The Secret of Kells is gorgeous, especially if you're into the while Medieval art shtick. If you're open to anime, I remember Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika having top notch visuals.
For stuff I haven't seen, The Illusionist looks cool. Les Lascars either but the animation looks fluid and has a lot of character.
>Song of the Sea / Secret of Kells
Seen all of those, all are great to a different degree. Too bad about Thief and the Cobbler and its whole production process.
Haven't seen Les Lascars.
Guess I should.
Posting a a shot from Angel's Egg. The whole thing is amazing. Easily my favorite anime film after this: >>64630982
paprika looked alright.
To be honest it owed 90% of its greatness to Hirasawa's fucking brilliant soundtrack
Listen to this. The soundtrack for inside the crazy guy's head. 10/10
I disagree, he does some stuff really amazingly. Just gets a bit samey after a while.
Hirasawa carries my interest more than the actual movies do.
Gandahar was a bit of a dissapointment after Fantastic Planet. And I wasn't that much of fan of that one besides the visual design.
I liked Millennium Actress and Perfect Blue a lot more but I think I looked at Paprika too much through the lense of those two, I have to watch it again. Will probably have a chance since my dad wants to watch it.
