Without using the word "Reddit," name one thing Star Wars did better than Guardians of the Galaxy
It's time we start showing this movie more respect, since it was better than Star Wars in every way.
>inb4 "b-but dance off"
That line was original and totally unexpected. If you hated the dance off line go watch your trope-filled race mixing propaganda star wars
Guardians had some reddit-tier campy moments but it had a genuine sense of humor and left me feeling good about what i had seen.
TFA was 2.5 hours of tumblr fan service and left me thinking i had just seen NH if it was made 30 years later and blew.
plus Ronan and Nebula were cool villains
>go watch your trope-filled race mixing propaganda star wars
GotG literally had a romance between Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. Jesus fucking Christ you /pol/weenies are retarded smdh
>pushed by corporations
>safe, middle of the road, insincere, appeals to a wide variety of interest groups
>glorifies the image of the product it is pushing
>conforms to corporate and elite interests
>created by committee to sell products
>tries too hard to become a meme and in the process embed itself within the minds of consumers to sell more crap related to the franchise
"thats not how the force works!" "chewie we're home!" "TRAITORxD!" "do you have a boyfriend?" "droid please"
>free, democratic, open source
>subverts corporate interests and intentions (Bane in TDKR used to attack the movie, not praise it)
>not created to push a product or message, but rather to amuse and humor individuals
>created for a specific group of enlightened users, not dumbed down for the masses
>memes are not forced by corporations, but rather become popular due to their innate appeal
>And? It wasn't like Avatar where she was playing a genuine alien, this time she was just playing a green alien instead of a blue one!
Gotg was boring to me for some reason. I actually really like Pratt and think he's a great actor but the movie was so over the top that I kinda couldn't develop a proper care for anything.
I didn't love TFA either, but I was able to sit through it to the end at least.
Never listen to people that complain about something by calling it 'reddit' though, OP. It doesn't mean anything.
while i dislike every super hero movie that i have seen except spiderman 1 and darkman gotg put a smile on my face the whole movie.
it just felt it had heart and something most other movies were lacking, but i think it needed 1 more fight scene. as stupid as this sounds, but its a superhero movie and it has one single fight scene (where they are in the dark room and batista kills the nigger robot) and its very short
They just needed to redue the last act of the movie, it all felt straight out of a Transformers movie.
It's really jarring when they're celebrating at the end even though the city's been totaled and thousands of people have died, but hey everything is okay because John C. Rielly's alien wife survived!
You must be joking, The sets looks better in GotG overall.
And world building is a bit unfair to both, because Star Wars has a whole series of movies, series and comics backing that shit up, and even with all that the world building felt bland. Meanwhile GotG just have the MCU, but despite that they got to expand the universe even further than any of the previous movies.
Guardians is not anywhere close to being as flawed as TFA. TFA is a clunky, unoriginal, exploitative mess of a movie. Guardians is a well meaning, apolitical comedy. Although I'm fed up with both in their shitty genres, Guardians is much much less rage-inducing. Hi rebbit.
It sounds cool on paper but it was really poorly designed imo, looks like babbies first portfolio piece concept art, nothing really stands out about it from the rest of the settings in the film.
>Implying she's even Peter's love interest
Shut your whore mouth you fucking casual.
>dislike both because they're both bad
>prefer movies with acting
>told to "go back to Reddit"
Marvel movies and Star Wars movies are cash grabs. It's the same shit every time.
>prefer movies with acting
You were told to go back to reddit because you're a pleb who only appreciates film in the most superficial unsophistcated way, not because you don't like capeshit
