Why didn't Ani jumped into the red circle? The fact this is so overlooked makes me think everyone else is retarded, and makes Lucas a complete hack.
I understand the whole "he's so cocky and confident he thought he could jump over OB1 and get away with it", but it makes no sense at all.
bullshit. He remained there like 20 seconds after getting chopped up perfectly fine until he suddenly and magically burst into flames, which again made no fucking sense.
le reddit meme about the high ground. He could have jumped there and continue the fight.
In your version, Obi Wan would still be in an overwhelmingly advantageous position. The logical move would be to wait until the platform moves and the terrain changes to a more favourable one for Anakin. Remember, Obi Wan came to kill Anakin, not the other way around, Obi Wan can't just leave so Anakin can play the waiting game. The problem is he's consumed by hate and doesn't think clearly
Is that the enterprise in the background?
Did you not see how even that fight was? Youre basically cornering yourself into not being able to move. Lava on one side, an equal adversary on the other.
Going to that spot would mean he could not make another mistake and likely death.
If he jumped near the lava, it would be effortless for obi to force push him in. Earlier they blasted each other away, but he isn't going to be able to defend that while jumping. So he had to at least jump further into land.
Anakin is OBVIOUSLY unable to move to adjacent squares, OP
Why didn't he just use the controls on the platform to give himself the high ground?
>I understand the whole "he's so cocky and confident he thought he could jump over OB1 and get away with it", but it makes no sense at all.
"Making no sense" is not a valid counterpoint when you talk about human decisions. Five seconds in Google can provide you an assload of examples of people doing dumbest shit on a dare, which is what Anakin did. Particularly when under mind-altering substances. And Anakin had the dark side for that and was notably not in control of his emotions throughout the whole sequence.
>He remained there like 20 seconds after getting chopped up perfectly fine until he suddenly and magically burst into flames, which again made no fucking sense.
Maybe if you're a fucking retard who does not remember that one of established Force powers is absorbing or redirecting energy, from blaster bolts to Force lighthing. Both fighters only survived that close to lava because they were shielding themselves all the time, when Anakin's grip on the Force starts slipping because of wounds, convection starts to doing its work normally on him.
ONLY ONE OF US CAN HAVE THE HIGHEST GROUND
Lets not forget High ground does not always mean auto-win
But by that logic Anakin shouldnt have died. He gained the high ground.
Unless youre saying Maul is a manlet. Then kek
thats bullshit. Remember when both of them were climbing that bigass vertical structure, Obi was above Anakin and did nothing. Also remember when OB1 jumped into that pipe? Anakin could have chopped it off and Obi would have fallen to the lava.
>climbing the bigass verticle structure
You mean when Obiwan was using 1 hand to hold on while swinging his saber where it physically couldnt reach Anakin? If Anakin was in range he would have died. Its easier to swing your sword down then to swing it up.
>The high ground can mean only one thing
He got the upside, I got the downside.
