What is the appropriate speed to watch a flick like pic related at? I had always watched capeshit at 1.7x normal speed but someone was telling me that because of their spastic editing I could miss story details and should really be watching at 1.5x.
Is there any truth to this? If it helps any I watch all of my Kurosawa and Tarkovsky at 0.8x normal speed.
i really hate this "watch movies at different speeds" meme
2/10 for making me reply

I like it a lot. I'm currently working on a chart for the 15 different types of motion pictures and the optimal watching speed for each.

Imagine taking all day to watch Andrei Rublev at 0.75

>not doing away with the /tv/ equivalent of subvocalizing
>he still has quotidian conception of time
>not blasting into patrician space by being able to watch and fully understand a 3 hour movie in 5 minutes
>audacious enough to think you can understand a Malick film in standard time
next you'll tell me you're incapable of watching two movies at the same time
Ozymandias and Sherlock (the lucy liu one) have both overcome this flaw, and they're geniuses
why havent you?
