Strong in what way? Strong as an actual woman (very rare) or just a strong character who happens to be a women but could also be a man and it wouldn't change much about the character (most strong women in media).

Here's my examples of female characters who are strong as women and not simply strong as a character that could be played by a man or woman.

-Madea
-Mrs. Doubtfire
-That mother who leaves the grocery store to find her children in the movie "The Myst".
-Most characters played by Whoopi Goldberg that are not strictly comedies.
-The soccer mom clone in the Orphan Black
