>all TFA backlash directed at Mike
>Jay gets off without a scratch
>Rich is always in the background even though he's the most patrician
He needs to split off and do his own reviews already.
>implying Jay's not a hardcore Star Wars fan
>implying he only likes weird arthouse shit and cult movies
I want casual Jay fans to leave.
>He probably saw the movie, enjoyed it for what it is, and hasn't thought about it since.
That's how star wars should and is mean't to be treated you dumbass.
Reminder: If you talk seriously about the extended universe of star wars and other nerd shit like that you are literally reddit.
Please stop embarrassing yourself.
>That's how star wars should and is mean't to be treated you dumbass.
Not according to the faggots that make endless threads about this boring shit on /tv/ ten times a day.
I like his honest take on comic book movies. His take on the new Spider-Man and Superman movies was spot on.
But his views are usually not great. At least not in the gaming world.
Thats a fair point, I think he liked Jedi a lot growing up but grew out of the series. They grew up around the toy boom of Star Wars and probably learned of it through osmosis, but thats probably a stretch.
That said he's probably grown out the series. Hes talked about how Empire props up SW.
>His take on the new Spider-Man and Superman movies was spot on
Spiderman yes, Superman no. He basically said he's not a fan of Superman at all so its pretty hard to care about his take on Man of steel.
>Plinkett review of Star Trek (2009)
>"Let me preface this by saying I don't think it's a bad movie"
Mike always sucked JJ's dick, he's just a big Star Trek nerd and not a true film critic. Their "reviews" are done as how a casual group of friends would discuss a movie; not as formal essays about why things are good or bad.
If that's what you want, the NY Times or LA Times has a film section for you.
>At least not in the gaming world.
He complains about games like an old man complains about society.
>Things were better in the old days!
It's understandable though. Some things were better back then.
Yeah, their show is entertainment just like the movies they view. Still think they're better critics than a lot of newspaper hacks because they have the capacity to enjoy action shit.
>At least not in the gaming world
thats actually where he shines. PreRec is the only gamerelated show I know, where they dont just parot popular opinion and point out modern trends as the fuckups they are
>he still thinks RLM gives a shit about what troglodytes on a chinese cartoon image board say about them
You seemed to miss the whole point of the "We're Disney shills reading from a script" part. They are making fun of people like YOU, and you still fell for it. What an absolute madman.
Nigger do you honestly think RLM gives half a damn about what people think about their reviews? The point of a review is to give a opinion and they did just that. What made it a "bad" review?
Yes, it is also possible to hate the prequels AND enjoy force awakens.
It's also possible to enjoy the prequels AND enjoy the force awakens.
Or enjoy the prequels AND hate the force awakens.
Or even hate the prequels AND hate the force awakens.
Personally I thought it was a bad review because Mike's critiques of TFA are drastically inconsistent with the ones given to the other prequel films.
>glossing over the absurd commercialization that Mike lambasted Lucas over
>ignored the numerous plot-conveniences that Mike lambasted Lucas over
>didn't care about the insulting number of callbacks and """"""homages""""" that Mike lambasted Lucas over
But is it possible for love to bloom on the battlefield?
>mfw I actually watched one of the videos
What the fuck is happening
TFA answered every major criticism he ever had for the prequels. he'd be more of a hypocrite if he DIDN'T like it
all of the nitpicks in plinkett reviews were mostly just for comedic effect, those were not the real issues the films had. if that's what you focus on I'm afraid you'd missed the point entirely
His main problems with the prequels
>nonsensical, boring plots
>lack of proper characters to latch onto
>boring, stagnant direction
No matter what other complaints he has, those are the foundations of a movie, and all are failures in the prequels. When those elements fail, the entire film collapses.
TFA gets those main components right (IN MIKE'S OPINION just to clarify for the autists that don't understand how this works).
>/tv/ now believes that there is an exact science to what you are allowed to enjoy or hate, and that if you hated an element in one movie, it automatically you must hate any other movie that includes that element, regardless of the film's other elements
This place is so fucking stupid.
>I like dinosaurs, Jurassic World was awesome
>I like Han Solo, Force Awakens was awesome
He is just reviewing movies now based on how much he likes the subject matter, not the quality or originality of the plot.
Thats all he fucking did though. He ignored the lazy plot, the souless shit shoved in only to sell toys, and the fact that they palyed everything so god damn safe. In the crystal skull plinkett video he says he likes Temple of Doom alot because of how different it is from Raiders. I want Star Wars to have the balls to come up with something new.
>In the crystal skull plinkett video he says he likes Temple of Doom alot because of how different it is from Raiders
And he also points out that Last Crusade was a good point in the franchise to play it safe. It's pretty easy to see that he felt after the disasters of the prequels, TFA was also a good point in the franchise to play it safe. You can't just cherry pick things Mike has said.
Why can't Mike just write a list of rules for movies and then use it to objectively score each movie on HITB? I find his episode-to-episode subjectivity almost as maddening as their tiresome need to make jokes and gags.
I get the point. But Force awakens was not a very good movie, and most critics praising it so much really bothers me. If episode 8 is basically a remake of Empire Strikes back will they praise that too?
Inianda Jones isnt really a continuing saga like Star Wars is. Indiana Jones movies are more stand alone adventure movies. I can name dozens of original things from Last crusade but barely anything in force awakens. If you like force awakens so much, tell me specifically why
>Quit being a whiny pussy
Im sure you've never complained about a movie on /tv/
Were you newfags not around for Jay's daily vlogs?
There was a thread on /tv/ everyday for them. He made them as a joke after fans suggested that RLM start doing vlogs like other popular youtubers.
He talked about it extensively in one of the twitch streams. Step up your RLM fandom, fags
>fat nerd goes off on his own nerdy tangents
>gets pissy when mike doesn't let him
>someone in twitch chat knows more than him on any fictional media
>LOL YOU FUCKING NERD
Rich is the biggest hypocrite on RLM.
You apparently don't know.
Rich is someone that thinks his nerd shit don't stink while calling other people nerds. It's probably from being friends with Mike or a desperate attempt at self-esteem.
He's right. You are a devoted fuccboi.
>my e-friends can do no wrong
Kill yourself. Rich Evans has a girlfriend and he's a digusting balding slob. Maybe if you didnt spend your days rewatching on their content you could get one too.
