It may be "disturbing" but it's not half bad.

I was pleasantly surprised, even if they go for the shock factor, both the story and execution are pretty well carried out.

I don't think it's bad, I thought it was a hilariously edgier-than-thou movie. Great to watch and laugh with friends. The people trying to read deeper meanings into it, if I may, just don't get it.

I havent watched the movie but ive read the plot in Wikipedia.
It seems like shock value bullshit with no entertaining worth. The producers, directors, and people in charge of the movie were most likely pedos who wanted to make a movie for other sick minded people.

Forgot the name, could Google it but I'm lazy, but basically Gary Oldman is in Spain I think, hunting in the woods with a family and there's a band of rapists who like to capture and rape women. There's plenty of rape scenes I can manage, but something about a bunch of nasty hairy Spaniards raping in a cabin is uncalled for.

That's an interesting perspective and I can certainly understand what he's saying, but if I'd never read that, I don't think I would've gotten it from watching A Serbian Film. I thought it was a decent shock-thriller, but I would not have picked up on any of that as subtext.

I think it's The Backwoods. Decent movie, but I remember thinking it was a Straw Dogs ripoff when I saw it. Oldman makes anything watchable, even when he seems to be phoning it in. Not every movie can be State of Grace though.

If I remember right, the director said it was a metaphor for Serbian life. You get fucked from birth (the newborn scene) until after death (the final scene after the family's murder-suicide when they get ready to film their dead bodies being fucked on camera). "Start with the boy". Fucked-up/10.
