A harmless kids space movie or something altogether more sinister?
How long before all males are rounded up and systematically castrated?
>How long before all males are rounded up and systematically castrated?
Not soon enough imo
I think the "you don't need to hold my hand" was slightly over the top. It didn't feel natural for Finn to want to do that - twice.
I'm probably just overly aware of feminist bullshit, but TFA did feel like it tried a bit too much to tell us that Rey "didn't need no man".
If you think about it, the original trilogy had a role model for almost everyone.
Luke, the innocent farm boy who elevates himself to new levels through training and discipline.
Han, the rogue who redeems himself by being less selfish.
Lando, the black patriarch, hard-working boss of a prosperous city-state.
Leia, headstrong, independent and highly capable/adaptable young woman bucking conventional execrations of a princess.
There's not really an Asian character unless Yoda counts, but in broad strokes it's all there and it works.
Now in TFA we have:
Rey, a young woman who is never wrong, rarely imperilled and overcomes all obstacles with total ease - because she's a girl.
Finn, a useless bumbling cowardly black man whose job it is to be subservient to the white woman.
Poe, a Latino man whose entire job is to support the white woman by leading a suicidal attack on a planetary murderball.
Han, an old white man who ultimately fails at everything and never rises above his station as the down-on-his-luck smuggler slumming it in Mos Eisley.
So who's the role model for the 79% of the audience who are young white men here?
Kylo Ren, hyper-capable murderous sociopath.
>There's not really an Asian character
There we go, being minoritized once again:-(
Yeah, it obviously was, and no one's batting an eye. We live in a truly ass backwards reality. Thank third wave feminism and pansy, cuckold nu-male progressives.
Things could still get better, but they won't. It's really too late.
In the original films, everyone rescues each other. Obi-Wan saves Luke, Luke saves Han, Han saves Luke, Leia save Luke and Han, etc. The point being that everyone working together as a team, to enhance their strengths and minimise their weaknesses, leads to a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
The only message TFA delivers is 'white women are perfect beings who are capable of literally anything without any effort or dedication, minorities exist to serve white women and the best you can hope for as a white man is to descend into obsolescence (Han, Luke), or be the perpetual villain to be beaten down by the white woman'.
>Finn, a useless bumbling cowardly black man whose job it is to be subservient to the white woman.
It's hilarious how much he is shit on in comparison to Rey for not being a pretty white girl.
>the best you can hope for as a white man is to descend into obsolescence
I couldn't find it funny, to be honest. If if his post was sanitation his character was raised from a baby to be a soldier. Even if he didn't have a stomach for killing he should have been at least halfway capable.
I don't understand why black people aren't legitimately furious about this. Once again they play second fiddle to the hyper-privileged white woman. The only black actress in this film was literally erased with CGI and turned into a tangerine with glasses.
Role models dont need to be the same ethnicity and gender as you, I understand that its easier to self insert or identify with someone who is the same race and/or gender as you but your argument is kind of retarded.
>holistic parenting and alternative education coach
Oh my god, do these people have no awareness of what hilarious grotesque caricatures of themselves they are?
How would you like to be castrated by Rey?
Force ball crush?
>tfw rey will never grab your balls with the force
They did make him a creep, but that part was understandable. Rey protesting the hand holding seemed stupid given the circumstances.
The real problem is there was no sense of reality in their interactions. They had no chemistry.
>>All previous six movies being about guys with just one token woman who increasingly becomes background.
>>One movie where a woman is the main character with an all male supporting cast who are all competent and good characters.
Without Finn, Rey would have died on the Starkiller base. He came back specifically to save her.
Without Han and Poe, the base would not have been destroyed. Were you watching the film?
but Anon, if Rey didn't tell him how to be a man, how would he know how to be a man?
>filthy journalism practices
you mean like using Star Wars to bait people into reading a blog post about muh soggy knee?
>People are gonna look back in "x" amount of years and laugh about how fucking stupid it was the time when directors and feminists and whatnot was pushing interracial and female empowerment agendas
Do you know how I know you are a beta, OP?
Alphas don't care about gender dynamics or other feminist bullshit. We don't even acknowledge feminism. Women want to be more promiscuous? Great, more pussy for us.
Alphas are the forefront of humanity. You know the predator in the jungle? That's us. The top the food chain? Us. The one who adapts to the environment? Also us. The ones who kill and are not killed. Alphas are nature's chosen champions. That's why we don't fear those social changes that got you so scared, because it doesn't matter who much power or independence women get, they'll always get wet by the mere sight of one of us.
Now you. You can stay here crying about those things while nature wipe your genes out of existence. Good riddance I say.
LET THE FREEDOM FLOW THROUGH YOU!
ONCE MORE THE AMERICANS WILL RULE THE GALAXY!
>Red Pill Philosophy
I feel like this is just ironic parody at this point
>tfw giving serious consideration to dumping my waifu for daisy
>tfw you will never just hold her
>tfw you will never live in an alternate universe where you and Daisy are in a loving
Firing up the helium tanks now tbqh
god when will this meme end? Women are not suited for action adventure lead roles.
They belong in horror/survival flicks where their feminine traits actually come into play
>ie any horror movie ever, Alien, Terminator etc
Just feels wrong. Same with in TFA.
>WHY DO UNREALISTIC THINGS HAPPEN IN FANTASY MOVIES
>These three replies back-to-back
Hello Reddit/Tumblr/Disney intern pool (delete as appropriate).
>Role models dont need to be the same ethnicity and gender as you
so why is important for there to be more """"POCs"""" and female representation in the media blablablbla? "Have this toy little black boy, leave whitey without one"
People like you are literally saying "IM A SOCIOPATH WHO CANT RELATE, I DONT CARE YOU'RE THE MAJORITY IN YOUR OWN HOME AND I DONT USE MY PRO-MINORITY LEFTIST ARGUMENTS FOR WHITES WHO ARE A GLOBAL MINORITY"
why should white motherfuckers try to relate to scum?
I identify better with Finn than Han or Luke and I'm a white man. You don't really need to be their skin color to relate. I also identified better with Franklin in GTAV better than Mike or Trevor.
>Role models dont need to be the same ethnicity and gender as you
Good luck convincing mainstream society of that. The clamor for endlessly increasing "diversity" has reached a fever pitch. It's practically inescapable. You can't have a movie where there are scenes with only white people anymore without the media creating a shitstorm about it.
>The real problem is there was no sense of reality in their interactions. They had no chemistry.
that was a problem in general. The two were going "OMG HOW DID YOU DO THAT let's have a quiet emotional bond moment now and share our names"
Same thing with Han. Apparently his death is supposed to mean something to those two
>Apparently his death is supposed to mean something to those two
Yeah, why would it? He was only the man who confirmed the importance of their quest, brought them together to learn more about the Resistance and helped them infiltrate an enemy base at great personal risk. Might as well be a stranger on the street.
Rey knows nothing of the resistance, she was captured. She told Han about shit done to the ship, he offered her a job and they never spoke again.
Finn was closer to having an actual relationship (they both share a secret about him for a while, they fight together, Han saves his life, they go on a mission together while Han is mad at him for lying but still tolerates him)
