>canonically, Han Solo is 14 in ANH
>TFA takes place like 30 years later and Han is already an old man
Lucas wanted a younger actor but none were good so he got Ford instead to play Han Solo
However, Lucas said that Solo is 14
Lucas said it but it was first revealed in a comic
Lucas could say that Han Solo is 6 if he wanted, it doesn't change the fact that the character who appears in the movie is clearly a man in his thirties. Plus the whole point of the character is that he's an older, more experienced, cynical foil to the bright-eyed teenager Luke. It doesn't make any sense for him to be like four years younger.
fuck off, op
>By August 1975, when Lucas had written his third draft, Solo was described as: "A tough James Dean style starpilot about twenty-five years old. A cowboy in a starship -- simple, sentimental and cocksure of himself." This incarnation of Solo's character went on to appear in the finished film.
>Lucas said it but it was first revealed in a comic
Was it the comic that was based on the first draft?
The one where it's about Annikin Starkiller, and uses a bunch of McQuarrie's original concepts for ships etc
>tfw build death star for several hundred years
