Because this Renaissance Man of Film needs his own thread. Reasons why he is great.
1. Did not take any shit from Jew overlords.
2.1 He did Braveheart.
2.2 Created universally acclaimed Indian American masterpiece Apocalypto
3. Brought the wonderful story of Jesus of Nazareth back to the masses.
4. Some anonymous sources say that he sometimes posts on the 4chan, specifically on /pol/ and once on /po/ (mistook it for /pol/; Mel likes a drink now and then, don't hold it against him, who doesn't like a drink, amirite?).
5. Is a Catholic, which is objectively by far the best religion.
6. Knows what women want, and does not take any shit from them.
7. Moved to Austria as a child and later moved back out, ALIVE.
This is the kind of constructive post that will help make this thread flourish. Thank you, anon.
This is the kind of digital shit that we, unfortunately, have too much of in our cold, digital worlds.
Amen, anon. Have a picture of this heartwarming meet and greet Mel did with Jesus.
I imagine that most of these pple would never post on /tv/ anyway, they are not likely to find discussions of their work with dumb teenagers any compelling or interesting.
Someone said that Robert Rodriguez lurks on /b/ to find memes, but that's it. Can't find the source now. Also heard that Trump interns lurk on /pol/. Also cab't find the sources.
Mel Gibson isn't blacklisted, I have no idea where did you get this from. He's caused harm to his own image with his racist and sexist remarks. Maybe people don't to see the work of a person with revolting ideologies.
>Mel Gibson isn't blacklisted, I have no idea where did you get this from. He's caused harm to his own image with his racist and sexist remarks. Maybe people don't to see the work of a person with revolting ideologies.
Such flagrant lying in one post. Shame upon you.
However, personal objections aside, and also on an aside the legion of degenerate actors that are not excommunicated by Jewywood, just take a look at Mel's body of work. Has he ever been involved in one bad movie? I think not.
I must shamefully admit I have not seen Gallipoli yet. It's only now that I read that it spells "poli" instead of "polio". I'm generally not a fan of movies that centralise around illness (except for that movie about Liberace with Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, that shit was hilarious).
You are very welcome and encouraged to make your own list, please.
Conspiracy Theory I found exciting and mysterious, (and for once Julia Roberts was not sexualised), but in my view it just cannot compete with the Lethal Weapon franchise or Braveheart.
Hi. Perhaps you glanced over my list, but I feel I must state that, while Lethal Weapon is indeed a GOAT tier action movie, Lethal Weapon 4 and, especially, Lethal Weapon 4 even managed to expand on it tremendously. But obviously the whole franchise is golden, as far as I'm concerned.
Correction, I meant Lethal Weapon 2 where I typed Lethal Weapon 4 the second time. So Lethal Weapon 2 is the best, then 4, then 1, and then 3. But 3 is still great, obviously.
I don't know. 4 was alright but the dark spin they put on Mel's character in the original is pretty unique for action movies. Anyone else think Spike Spiegel was at least partially based on Martin Riggs?
Final fight scene in Lethal Weapon 4. Please do not click if you have not seen it yet.
A whirlwind of unexpected, unimaginable, and awesome twists.
Just ignore the subversives is my advice. Unfortunately they're everywhere, but guess what, when Armageddon comes (I mean Last Day, not Bruce Willis), we will be the ones having the last laugh.
>Has he ever been involved in one bad movie?
Just saw Lethal Weapon 3. Man, such a downgrade from the second one, which is still to this day the quintessential buddy-cop movie.
I have to be honest family. I love Mel, but LH3 is bad.
Haven't seen the fourth one in ages. I don't remember that being amazing either.
>me on the left
I haven't seen enough of this guy's pre-Lethal Weapon credits to make a judgment on his career...I'm talking about Gallipoli, Year of Living Dangerously, that flick he was in with Hopkins and Olivier, and those movies where he bangs Sissy Spacek and Diane Keaton
Most of these replies are from millennial faggots who haven't watched anything else outside of the Mad Maxes/Lethal Weapons/Braveheart/Apocalypto
Get educated, faggots
>milennials are so parhethic they would rather talk about which star wars sequels are better instead of defending their livelihood to do so.
We need a based crusader like Mel to stand up for what is right. Too bad the Jews in Hollywood crushed him before he could rally the catholic masses like he did with Passion of the Christ
>forgive us based Mel
>I must shamefully admit I have not seen Gallipoli yet. It's only now that I read that it spells "poli" instead of "polio"
Niggah what, don't you know basic WW1 history? How can people not know about the meat grinder that was Gallipoli?
I still don't what the hell you're talking about...most of your reasons for liking him in your OP don't have anything to do with his film credits as an actor and director...just because he 'sticks it to the kikes' and 'doesn't take shit from any stupid cunt'
Directing the best movie of the past two decades wasn't enough?
>at the zoo with my family
>kids are on the carousel
>carousel is ending and I am making my way to the exit to meet family outside
>am being blocked from the exit by a large security guard
>wtf is going on realize he isnt zoo security
>fuckthisshit.jpg push my way by him
>take two steps and bump into the back of an averaged sized guy in a leather jacket and aviators
>he turns around and puts the glasses up on his head
>the clouds open and release a beam of sunlight that falls upon the stranger's face
>it's Mad Fucking Max
>I stumble back, stammering
>"M-mr. Gibson... i-if I fight for you, w-will I get to kill the hebrew?"
>"Yes, anon. They can take our careers, they can even take our families, but they cannot take... OUR FREEDOM."
>Heath Ledger rises from the grave and charges towards us across the battlefield, musket in hand
>three faint crosses rise over a hill upon the horizon
>a small creature on a large man's back begins rambling about embargoes
>arrows reign down upon the battlefield, spilling English blood along with our fellow countrymen's
>Samuel L Jackson appears from nowhere
>"We're getting to old for this shit, Mel."
>the beam of light retracts into the clouds, leaving behind a tired and confused looking grey haired man in a leather jacket and aviators
>Mel stares past me like he's looking for someone, but he's all alone, at the zoo by himself in the middle of the day
>a hero has fallen
>the jews did this
He's presenting at oscars and he also has movies continually coming out. Meanwhile, despite his racist, homophobic, and sexist comments, he is still getting work yet we have yet to see a black leading woman in a flick.
It's undeniable that the only reason this occurs is because inherent bigotry within hollywood. White men can say whatever they want and still have movies made, or have massive flops like hemsworth and ryan reynolds but a black woman? No one will ever give one a chance as more than a mere token prop.
Excuse you, how are these not good reasons? While I deeply respect Mel for his acting merits, one also has to look at the person behind the acting career. Sticking it to the kike and the vaginal kike are two of the most honourable things a man has in his life. Now hop along please.
I hope based Mel makes a comeback that btfo everyone who ever doubted him. He's too talented to be sidelined.
The Gib will rise again.
Yeah nice try, Oprah Winfrey. Just admit that Mel's charisma and his jacked stature makes you moist as a jungle grotto. It's okay, even I as a non gay admire Mel. He is handsome.
the fact that the passion of the christ was snubbed at the oscars is a travesty. i dont like to play into conspiracy theories but i cant help but make them to understand why this was.
i wish they had filmed more scenes from the gospels with the cast and crew and released a special to tv or dvd.
sexually ambiguous desu, please don't call her a bitch as she is my waifu
Can I just take a moment and state my appreciation for you guys? The love you show for Mel is truly heartwarming. Bless God and bless you all. Except the jew, who will thankfully and rightfully burn in Hell for all of eternity.
Yes. I wonder why.
I remember finding a bootleg of the movie in the local market. On the cover it said there was an hour of extra features and also registration of a Mass they held in honour of Mel at the Australian Church, but when I put it in my VHS player it didn't even work.
"The Jews" want to pacify you with Star Wars and "Capeshit". Based Mel is making epics about the brutality of man with dashes of humanity sprinkled in. The Jews want you to be mindless and fill your face with popcorn and after that argue on a Mexican sombrero forum. Have you ever had the pleasure of viewing Mel's films in theaters? I assure you that you will not turn off your brain during them like you would when watching "muh spidey mans"
Got a hard on for Mel. Braveheart is goat tier and apocalypto the same. Passion was also brilliant
Guy loves to redpill faggots and creates some amazing art while doping so.
Dude is a fuckin legend
This makes me wish I could somehow unsee Apocalypto and be shot back in time. I envy you if you saw this GOAT in a cinema.
Also I'd possibly try and cancel out some odd lifestyle choices and try making money on sports betting, but still, Mel would be number one priority on my mind.
I feel it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Maybe the people weren't ready for this yet. I'd like to see a sequel or a remake. Definitely a good idea.
I mean, we all know women, but who are they really? Behind the tits and high noises there's often a person that can construct simple thoughts. People tend to forget.
Yep. It's also a really nice film. It's charming and with a good mesage without putting it in your mouth and making you swallow.
Also Mel Gibson looks handsome as fuck, my mom loves the movie.
for me would be
2.Lethal Weapon 2
4.Mad Max Road Warrior
9.We were soldiers
I know Lethal Weapon 2 is superior to Lethal Weapon 1, but the first one really helped me when I was having problems and depression, and made me consider that suicide wasn't the answer.
>that Lethal Weapon order
My fucking black family member, holy shit.
Well I can understand, it's definitely an acceptable gateway for people to the world of Mel (and continuing living).
And thanks for your story. People like to diss Mel, but you're proof that his work actually impacts people's lives in a profound manner.
Thank you. took me quite a while to figure out, but I stand by my choices. Very close between 2 and 4 though.
I agree. It's amazing they call the man homophobic, racist and antisemit even when his best friends are Danny Glover and Jodie Foster and RDJ. Hell the man is so good, he helped who old mexican guy who had cancer, meanwhile he was doing Apocalypto get good health care outside
I've said it to /lit/ and I'll say it to /tv/: Mel Gibson is the best Hamlet on film of all time. Better than Olivier. Better than Branagh. Only Burton was ever better, but pointing a camera at a stage play is not the same as a motion picture feature.
Zeffirelli solved, correctly, every major staging problem, cut nothing of value to the core story arc, and got the best performance of smart-assed personal crisis that the Dane has ever been given.
Lethal Weapon is his best performance as an actor, Braveheart his best movie all around.
His performance in Lethal Weapon is 100% pure badassry. Watching that movie made me grow from a pussywhipped little boy into a manly man,
Mel Gibson is a racist and anti-semite. He screams at his wife on those recordings made, so he is a misogynist, too.
I know that is REALLLY COOL to you internet types that worship people with horrible behavior, and that is just pathetic. You fill your life up with sitting on your computer all day posting your anti-semite crap, and that makes you feel cool because a bunch of 14 year olds that tell their parents to fuck off do the same thing online? Grow up.
He's made an assload of really entertaining movies and I love him for that
