Didn't the Jedi notice that he was the only one wearing black robes? Why didn't this alarm them?
Yoda also wasn't alarmed when Anakin came to visit him completely distressed, saying he had visions of his mother dying. He also didn't know any better than to let Anakin spy on Sheev, a friend of his who treated him with more respect than the Jedi.
In short, the Jedi were idiots.
"I shall wear midnight when I'm older."
>Why didn't they let him on the fucking council?
They (grudgingly) let him on the Council, per Palpatine's request. They did not grant him the rank of Master because he had not completed the necessary requirements (successfully training a Padawan to knighthood - his had left the Order - and constructing a Holocron to record his knowledge for future generations of Jedi), and they could only bend the rules so far, even for a chosen one. He would have doubtless made rank and joined the Council eventually anyhow, even succeeded the likes of Yoda and Mace Windu at the head of the Council. He was only 22, many Jedi are still Padawan Learners at 22. For him to be Knighted as young as he was, after as short a training as he'd received was already remarkable, but he needed patience.
Why would it? I haven't read any of the EU shit, but was there some Jedi rule stating they're not allowed to like black?
I say that but I mean they thought the "no love" rule was a good idea so that might actually be in there somewhere.
