>remake with younger attractive cast
Don't they realize that this isn't something the original fans want? All that's going to happen is that fat teenage girls who never watched the original will start writing gay fanfiction about it.
You forget that they don't care what the fans (originals or not) want. They APPEAL to the original fans but try to extend the fan base because well more money.
Thats literally what makes capeshit and sci-fi movies money your retard.

So the fans want old ugly people? Really not sure what you're complaining about fella.

There was already plenty of gay fanfiction for the original without the remake's help.

Fat teenage girls with penises who are in their forties. It's 2016, you heteronormative prick.

This. The movie is about being appealing to as many people as possible. They don't give a fuck about what the original fans want as long as they can make a movie that will appeal to the average movie goer.

They don't give a shit about original fans, I.E. 4chan posters who will just steal the movie anyway on the internet.
They are much more interested in teens and Chinese people, the two groups that actually still pay money to see movies.

>fat teenage girls who never watched the original will start writing gay fanfiction about it
Fat teenage girls in the 1970s wrote gay fan fiction based on the original cast. Lots of it. The concept of "slash fiction" was literally invented by the original star trek fan girls. The term "slash" comes form the original "k/s" label for the gay stories. "kirk slash spock", shortened to just "slash".
Those original fangirls also created the original self insert mary sue character and coined the phrase.
