For a show with a message of human good intent getting poisoned by institutions, this show wasn't humanistic at all. NO characters were as layered as that of Sopranos, Mad Men, Deadwood or Six Feet Under, its themes were much less broad or incisively explored as with any of those shows and its style was completely unexperimental; no chance of a Join the Club or Far Away Places.

This show is a wet dream of those interested in sociology, gang culture and surface level politics or journalism but it offers nothing about the human experience. In return, its academic approach doesn't do much for me
