Hey /tv/, yify here from yify torrents
just wanted to ask if you have any requests or comments about our work
we work hard to keep you guys satisfied
Yeah sure Yify comes to /tv/, kek
I haven't had a problem with Yify movies myself, in fact they're my go-to releaser. Consistent quality, there's always subtitles for their stuff, etc.
YIFFY is how I say it.
That looks too grainy.
That's a pretty decent picture there. I bet the file size was below 5GB as well. I've never known such a glorious man to give us such low file sizes for high quality blu-rays.
>mfw I download a YIFY rip and have no problem discerning what's going on visually and what is being said and generally have an enjoyable experience
>mfw this causes autists to burst a blood vessel and post graphs
>went on a little holiday with a group of friends
>friend brings her laptop with loads of YIFY rips of films
>we watched Jurassic Park and Fast 7
>Sound was perfect
>Visual was superb
YIFY is great if you're watching on a little laptop or on a TV far away. Or if you're just a normal person and the concept of small filesize movies at a quick d/l interests you.
However, the main issue is that everyone seeding YIFY means other higher-quality rips are less available, unless you get access to private trackers.
Yify was decent for watching movies I had no real interest in, and deleted afterwards. I'd get a few of them put them on my tablet and on long trips watch them. Yify was also good for when you wanted to watch a movie on your laptop and wanted to watch it in the next couple minutes. Download real fast, and video quality doesn't matter much on a laptop, and headphones fixed much of the audio problems. If you wanted to keep a movie, or watch it on a large tv, then Yify was not the answer, unless you don't poo in the loo.
It's fine for occasions like that, but if you're on a decent screen with headphones it's just kind of painful
Getting mad at it is pretty stupid though, it's literally for the audience who doesn't give a shit and just wants to watch something quick
They let me pick, did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research, watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others, you were strong and swift and brave. A natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw... but me. Can you guess? Luck. Was I wrong?
>this whole thread
I fucking hate you /tv/.
Hey faggots, if you want small filesizes just lower the resolution for a better result.

Because x264 psychovisual optimizations assume that the high motion scenes are the least likely to be noticed that's where it removes the most bitrate. So if the bitrate's low enough you basically end up looking at lego.
YIFY single handedly ruined public movie piracy by shifting the normie seeder swarms and therefore retention away from the relatively decent scene and p2p releases so that anybody that actually wanted to watch a HD movie had to join a private tracker.
You're adopting a simplistic elitist viewpoint. I didn't say it was good or bad, just more influential. And I see that yify was very much that on the last 5 years. An ideology of the 'great quality' on low filesize for people who have them as the most affordable option for one reason or other.
There is nothing simplistic or elitist about what I said. I didn't say they weren't influential I was sharing my (relevant) opinion and that is that YIFY was a bad influence, for everyone.
wooooaahhhh the laddy, Netflix uses way higher bitrates, usually at least 3x YIFY for live action.
They also use rc=crf rather than 2pass now and encode the source, not fucking scene rips.
