The part of the game that makes it so accessible is why it will flop. It's generic fantasy setting 500, which is great if you're trying to make a game with an uncomplicated setting that can entice everyone to jump in to play, but as a movie setting, it comes off as vanilla, uninspired, and not compelling in the slightest. I've dumped literal months of my life, as in 30 sets of 24 hours into WoW, and even Warcraft before that, and there is nothing about this movie that makes me want to lay down $8 to sit down and watch it.

For any videogame movie to succeed today it is going to have to do it strictly on the quality of the film and critical success alone.

Brand recognition by gamers will not help it AT ALL at the box office.

All of the clans were supposed to be green. Only mag'har orcs who stayed behind in outland were brown. Orcs in warcraft lore were supposed to be naturally brutal and violent, and there was infighting between them. Thrall was the exception because of his upbringing and medivh's intervention.

Because Thrall has agency, and Arthas loses his when he gets frostmourne which means basically frostmourne lets the lich king mind control arthas, and that is always retarded in any storytelling.
