I'd speculate that movie posters are separate from the movie production itself. There's probably some law in the contracts which says actors have to be paid a premium for doing advertising including things like movie posters. Perhaps it's a loophole they can use stills of the actors from their movie production in the poster and have to pay little/no money for it.
