Exactly my thoughts. The show has gotten progressively worse to the point that I have zero hype for the upcoming season. And the trailer didn't help as, well, extremely short glimpses of battles indicate to me that they're all they can come up to arouse interest from viewers.
Fun fact: Vikings were the first SJWs in Europe. They knew that women are just as good of warriors and made the sexist societies they attacked painfully aware of it.
This show was on its way to redemption in season 3.
The cinematography was wonderful, MOST storylines they wrote were awesome (like Odin visiting Ragnar's family) but then it really REALLY shit the bucket with
>showing the Wessex folk after the slaughter of the northmen for no reason
>ROLLO AGAIN GOING AGAINST HIS BROTHER
>NOT KILLING RAGNAR
It was so well written death for Ragnar and I felt like I was cucked out of a satisfying, good ending to his story.
This show has a couple of neat things going on and one of them is passage of time really feels in this show imo and Ragnar's death would've played to that so well with his son or brother picking up from his scraps.
+the worthlessness of all the death and wars yet how it is required.
I dont honestly know what you are talking about. Is this based on books or what?
Whatever, my points still stand.
The show would've nailed it's passage of time thing so fucking well with the well written death/turning to Christian and dying to meet Athelstan and no homo ending.
I fucking hated how it went full TWEEEST.
They have to really fucking improve their writing if they want his death to mean shit, at least for me, anymore.
and disgraceful trash Rollo arc spinning its wheels about fighting and not fighting his brother is fucking tiresome,
That's not the issue, not his death, but the journey and execution of it from the crew.
>Ragnar Lodbrok or Lothbrok was a legendary Norse ruler, king, and hero from the Viking Age described in Old Norse poetry and several sagas
So it is based on literature? Poetry and sagas.
The actor for Bjorn is terrible.
And again, my issue was that they had fantastically set up a proper arc that for me felt like a redemption for the writing crew after all the terrible shit they pulled and then they
>TWEEST IM NOT DEATH
>TWEEEST ROLLO GOES AGAINST RAGNAR ***AGAIN***
It went from good quality that I enjoyed to a fucking writing I hated so fast.
I like that the photographers/cinematographers of the show try really ahrd. Some times they film something really fucking neat, wish I was on my desktop where I have more screenshosts of the show.
Pic related is Bjorn's busted up waifu leaving Kattegat, was a great little scene that lasted a couple of seconds.
Then sometimes the cinematography of the nature feels like watching BBC production which I guess.. is a... plus?
I know the series is called 'Vikings' but I'm watching for Ecbert by now.
