This is the first episode were I literally rolled my eyes and said "sigh", when is this stupid trend going to die?
The Simpson's has literally become Tumblr the show.
Just a head's up so that you know, when a narrative mentions the word 'sigh' in those quotations marks it is not the case that they are not actually saying the word 'sigh', it is just an onomatopoeia, if maybe a poorly one at that.
It is just a workaround for the author to not have need to constantly describing boring things in a boring way like:
- "the man sighed"
- "he sighed for a second time"
- "then he sighed again"
God, remember when the Simpsons was satirizing American society in general with things everyone could relate to but nothing so specific it'd be outdated in a year? Just look at Homer Badman which is about sensationalism in the media. Arguably even more relevant now than it was in the 90s. Now, with as long as it takes to make episodes and address the issues they want to address it's already been talked about to death by the time the episode makes it on TV.
The opening episode to the current season has Homer date a hipster white woman voiced by Amy Schumer or whoever after the millionth dispute with his wife. There was also a past episode from recent years where the family tried to impress their new hipster neighbours. Kinda tired how these sorta people and their dumbass lifestyles seep into everything.
American Dad's fine by the way, just a little uneven at times but still fairly good considering how long it has been on the air by now.
They have been making pathetic attempts to stay relevant and progressive for so many years. The desperation to stay contemporary ruined them in the long run. Honestly they deserved it for only hiring Harvard writers, the ones from the 70's and 80's were great but the 90's-2000's graduates are awful.
>"and our ama subreddit will be trending"
Lisa being focused on was the beginning of the end for the simpsons. She became a mouth piece for the writers and is extremely unlikeable. Her now non ending PC/feminist bitching is just unbearable.
>Lisa the Simpson
>moral was "boys dumb, girls smart"

And he's assisting in giving false information credence. This is not ok. And I'm honestly worried it'll snowball.
Now if he DID get in then did nothing about it ever that's ok, but you know he'd have to do SOMETHING.
Lol. I seem to have interpreted this episode different then almost all of you. I saw it as a sleight against the feminist movement. Specifically the comic book guy moment, I thought that gave away the entire premise. And when they do the british guy too. Ya'll need to chill.
I know theres a lot of Simpsons fans who hate it over the past 5 or so years. While I don't recognize it as good as earlier stuff, I still enjoy most of the episodes. Its a bajillion times better then family guy and other shit sethfag puts out (excluding American Dad which is king).
I've always hated Family Guy, and never tried any other animation except South Park to be honest. Which is probably my all time favourite show and is blowing The Simpsons the fuck out right now.
I though they weer making fun of the feminists and SWJ.
Mr. Burns: He used the M word (metldown)? He must be punished for this hate speech.
Dyke: In he spirit of tokenism, we have one guy here.
Comic guy: But, everything I say offends them
Another dyke:(Angrily) Who are you calling "them"
The feminists were also very aggressive and unlikeable.
>liking South Park
Don't worry you'll grow up
What's wrong with you, man?
Life is too short to waste on shit like modern episodes of The Simpsons. At best it must be a mediocrity to you.
Think of all the other things you could have
>the vulgarity is what's funny
Yeah ok, so you're old enough to think you're mature and thus above any of 'that stuff' but not old enough to understand what's actually funny about the show. Ok friend, don't worry, you'll grow up.
I'm sure you started watching South Park at 10 years old because you found Cartman hilarious
Then you keep watching it because you refuse to grow up
Like 100% of the audience of this trash
the part of reddit that's critical of reddit manages to be consistently worse than reddit
I love when armchair psychologist talk about 4chan or internet culture and they think they have some incredible insight.
They are always so pathetically obvious with whatever conclusion they want to come up with.
Those are the kind of fags who write knowyourmeme articles.
I thought it was more in line with "not a real man because he can't please/ is walked all over by his woman" sort of thing
That's an interesting perspective, but South Park is a show where a specific episode can be easily taken in a way Matt and Trey likely didn't intend, like this post for example, just because they mocked AL Gore doesn't mean they don't care about the environment and it doesn't mean they're condemning a salty redditor for caring.
It doesn't even matter if they are correct sometimes.
Their whole process is wrong since they start with the conclusion and don't even offer other alternatives.
Especially when it comes to such big communities claiming EVERYONE does something for the same reason is almost always inevitably wrong.
That's the point dude, we are laughing at how they guy does this "deep analysis" yet completely misses the point.
Cuck isn't about men controlling woman, it's about having standards so low they put up with disloyalty, it's shows a severe lack of self worth that you would accept that as your role. I personally hate overly submissive women, nothing annoys me more than women who's reply to every question is "I don't know what do you want" I don't want to be in a relationship with a women who's basically a puppet, but there's no way I'm putting up with cheating.
And just like "fag", "nigger" "autist" and retard" it's just used often as a general insult and because fuck why not.
and it wasn't even subtle, yet i was still able to swallow.
i think this modern feminism thing is receiving such a huge push back because they are so obnoxiously shoving it down everyone's throats.
most people are mature enough to shrug and go "eh, they'll tire themselves out eventually" but those of us who spend most of our time on the internet get worked into this frenzy and trick ourselves into thinking that all women are really like this.
the person who wrote that post is just mad that a show that mocked everything got around to mocking them and are trying to dress it up as "it's corrupting our youth"
it's perfectly possible to have opinions on things and enjoy south park as long as you don't take things personally, which this poster doesn't and projects onto everyone else
It's the same in Bongistan among 20-somethings.
Most of my female friends think they're feminists, but I'm slowly corrupting them against themselves. I explained to one yesterday the concept of meme-feminists, that don't think and just mindlessly share dumb image macros on Facebook.
They're all so stupid and fun to play with.
Wow anon, you sound edgy, nihilistic and like you have a wicked sense of humour.
back to your roach threads you disillusioned cuck. everytime i start thinking 4chan's ok some fuckwit like you trundles along and reminds me that this site is filled with the castaways of society, and most posters are actively rejected by people who have good lives and friend groups and don't want to deal with our delusional narcissistic, below average intelligence bullshit.
take a good long look at yourself and then shut the fuck up and debate starwars like the rest of us
>i post on /tv/ because i think i'm rebelling against something i don't fully understand
mark my words, you will never amount to anything. when you finally secure an office job at the age of 30 and you realise you've got no skills, no prospects, no hobbies and a small friend network, remember me. remember this post. i knew it would happen because i know the exact type of person you are.
you're obnoxious and you think it makes you edgy.
you're antisocial in an attempt to free yourself from whatever mould you think your parents/teachers have tried to force on you
you refuse to apply yourself you say because a defined path is only for braindead wagecucks when realistically you're afraid to fail and discover your own limitations. because you know that when you do, you'll have to face the fact you're no where near as smart as you thought you were.
projection is strong here
no-one here will ever achieve anything of true greatness, friend. you are all wonderful and unique people, but none of us will ever amount to anything particularly significant. there is nothing anything any of you can do that will cement your permanent legacy. the earth will crumble and the sun will fade. accept it. half of us have accepted that, and the other half are steadily on their way. welcome to 4chan, i hope you enjoy your stay.
The channel number is five, meaning you would hit five to watch Fox if you lived in New York. The affiliate's channel numbers are different so it changes by location, for example in Chicago Fox is Fox32. There are several Fox channels not numbered and available on cable like FX, Fox News, Fox Business, and Fox Sports.
well for one, that's an omnipresent trope. and for two, that wasn't even the moral of the episode. there was no moral. Lisa thought she was going to become stupid like Bart and home and then she didn't. the end.
Why do you know or care about this?
Why does text formatting trigger you?
Just watched this out of curiosity.
It seemed to be making fun of attention seeking female coders, stereotyping them as dyed hair and heavily pierced tomboys that just want to make a point and some money along the way.
Am I giving them too much credit?
Wasn't funny either way, regardless of what it was trying to say.
>All this projecting
>over a simpsons episode
Killing yourself would be easier at this point, m8.
if they hated change then why did they advocate for change to weed legaization and gay marriage, 2 things that were changed and they liked? trey and Matt already said their politics can be summed up in 3 things, they like drugs, gay marriage and guns. it was funny when they said this because it was in britain and the interviewer was shocked they liked guns. brits really are cucks.
Way too skinny and attractive to be compared to Tumblr.
There's a reason as to why he wanted to leave you know, they've probably begged him to stay many times before.
>yfw you realize comic book guy is and always has been 4chan
Simpsons are long dead son. Why are you beating the dead horse?
But The Simpsons has always been like this. It has always been clear that Matt Groening is a liberal. The only difference is that nowadays the episodes have terrible wiritting and no funny jokes.
>The only difference is that nowadays the episodes have terrible wiritting and no funny jokes.
That's a big deal for a show labeled as a comedy. Arguably, comedy needs a stronger writing than drama because it's too easy to fuck up
>The writers on The Simpsons actually fell for the "women can be programmers" meme.
I hope they will make an episode where Lisa becomes fat and gets bullied for her weight and then she joins an anti-fat shaming group full of beautiful fat girls who during the episode promotes "big is beautiful" and "healthy at every size".
YEah, I remember that
Seeing a lot of people complaining and posting pictures that show nothing. I haven't watched simpsons since I was a kid, a picture doesn't show me how bad it has become
Please post a video example
Doesn't really fit in the nature of the show, they've never glorified fatness. Homer has had many health problems, so did Bart when he became fat. Every vision or dream of bad future involves somebody being fat (Lisa being married to Ralph and being obese to the point where she couldn't get up).
I wouldn't mind an episode like this, but the only way they could do it is if they started out having lisa embracing being overweight but slowly come to realise (through health issues and other funny fat moments) that it isn't great.
These threads remind me of those tumblr threads where fat chicks complain about patriarchy.
Yeah that's always weird. Even years ago it was weird to see them start using cell-phones in episodes. I feel like the modern world doesn't suit the show. It would be like the Waltons airing today.
Then again if they didn't evolve the tech I bet kids today would be wondering what the fuck they're using.
That poster almost hits the nail on the head, except south park makes fun of anyone dogmatic of their belief. that's all there is to it, not about left or right or change or comfort, it's about dogma and how willing you are to question those dogma yourself.
it's still a shit show tho.
>South Park is reactionary because they made fun of Al Gore
>Al Gore who was like the biggest reactionary when he was relevant
>Someone actually didn't understand a South Park episode
Reddit is like a beehive just with morons instead of bees and propaganda instead of honey.
I dont think Simpsons are progressive enough.
They should make an episode where Bart starts wearing girls clothes and comes out as transsexual. Lisa on the other hand becomes a butch. Naturally Homer and Marge dont agree with their decisions. Lisa and Bart both join a LGBT group (group members voiced by popular celebrities).
soon democrats are going to demand a male tax
the left has become to white men what the nazis were to jews
At what point did they think that absolutely anyone would enjoy this. I can understand appealing to a wider demographic from a business viewpoint, but no one even likes lisa, even less so shoe horned musical numbers. I cant imagine anyone liking this. Anyone who made this part or advised its creation did so purely to make it hated, because there is no way any sane human fucking being would watch this piece of cringe worthy dog shite and think "Yes, this is acceptable. Yes, viewers everywhere will enjoy and remember this moment".
