BOTFA is only "bad" in that it's just one big long battle scene where nothing really happens and what should've been the final climax to the second Hobbit movie was painfully stretched out to feature length. So it's better than AOTA, which I may add is actually my favorite prequel movie.

Desolation of Smaug is decent if you cut out all the stupid shit. You could literally make a better movie by only removing scenes.

The beginning and very end of Battle of the Five Armies could be added to the end of Desolation of Smaug and the series is condensed into 2 movies.

if BofA had been anything near RotK, Hobbit would be GoaT... DoS is a weird movie but a great transition from adventure to a city/battle movie. Sadly, BofA was toooo much CGI

I watched BOTFA and immediately couldn't remember a thing about the movie other than the ending.

At least AOTC was laughably bad. BOFTA was just uninteresting, and that is far worse for a movie.

I dont understand why they named it the Battle of the five Armies.
All it did was build up this huge epic battle that didnt have near as much at stake as any of the lotr battles. Then it couldn't even deliver.
The Hobbit: There and Back Again would have been a nice name and it wouldn't have gotten everybody's attention focused on a huge fucking battle.
I still liked it more than the full green-screen shit that was episode 2

I can sit through AotC when rewatching Star Wars and I literally was not able to finish BotFA on a rewatch. AotC is easily better

I liked AUJ a lot, and I liked a good part of DoS

But BoFA was so fucking awful. It was just all over the place, it made no sense and there was no reason for it to exist.

But I think none of you have actually watched AotC in a long time. It's so fucking dull, I literally fell asleep last time I tried to watch it. It's so irredeemably bad

I was so disapointed with the Hobbit. The scene with Smaug was perfect, exactly like I envisioned when my dad read me the book as a kid. Peter Jackson did not need to alter one fucking thing from that book, the battle of five armies was a disgrace to all movies based off books.

I tried watching AotC today and it was painful how bored I was by the end. I was groaning at the TV begging for it to be over, and this is during the Battle of Geonosis so I should've been excited. It had completely crushed my spirit.
