I use Tumblr for photography stuff and I can assure you at least 10 million of these accounts are spam or porn.

Out of 3 female acquaintances who i know use tumblr, two friends are relatively normal and seem embarrassed about it. They claim not to use it regularly, i guess its like 4chan but more of an echo chamber and less traffic.
A female flatmate is a tumblr 'lesbian' and frankly she is just lacking opinions or depth to her personality due to lack of life experience (very sheltered). She seems lonely but is extremely boring in conversation and rarely voices her views. She is actually like the /r9k/ of this site, in that she has no real friends and is an unfulfilled wageslave. Honestly i'm glad she thinks she is a lesbian because we share a bedroom wall and i wouldnt be comfortable with having to listen to her getting fucked by random dudes or whatever. It's like she is inadvertently saving herself for her one day future beta husband.
The only male friends I had who tried tumblr when it became popular got rid of it pretty quickly.

Obviously lots of Redditors come to /tv/ so i get the anger at them. The only person i've met IRL who openly used reddit was an indian fedora tipping atheist I knew in high school.

Perhaps thats the case but if so then by now the fad would have been overcome and the use of special effects on set and CGI in editing would be more in sync and be a better overall end-product.
