How likely is it Fury Road to get the Oscar for Best Picture?
I can't remember any action pictures that won an Oscar.
I enjoyed it more than the two times I saw Mad Max. Story was simple, but the cinematography, environments, and acting kept me hooked. The bear fight and ending fight are damn good scenes. And hell, Tom Hardy actually got the chance to do some acting. It's a solid 4/5 movie, but I can understand liking Mad Max over it.
If you're convinced that there's a giant conspiracy to push feminist ideals into the minds of white male basement dwellers, wouldn't Suffragette be the surefire winner of the Oscars?
The story was worse than simple: It was shit. They took an actually intriguing true story and boiled it down to kindergarten levels of simplicity
I agree with the viewing experience though. Lubezki is a genius. Thanks for the reasonable response
maybe you should pay more attention to the editing and framing in Fury Road. Genuinely as good/better than Revenant
>If you're convinced that there's a giant conspiracy to push feminist ideals into the minds of white male basement dwellers, wouldn't Suffragette be the surefire winner of the Oscars?
No, because Suffragette is just preaching to the already converted. It's these "stealth feminist" action flicks like Star Wars, Terminator 2, Aliens, Edge of Tomorrow and Mad Max that are the true threat. They're being lapped up by the "misogynist" video game crowd and are subconsciously conditioning them towards embracing cuckoldry.
I could see it get nominations and possibly win in
Best visual effects
Best original screenplay
Best actress in a leading role
Best sound editing/mixing
It might also get nominated for best picture and best director, but it won't win those
That would fall under cinematography though, which the revenant will probably win. But it didn't really have many "visual effects" that were that special
I want the meme of video game players burying their head in the sand to the most obvious feminist symbolism cinema has ever seen to save face after enjoying the explosions and car chases to end.
Poor baby. Is Feminism constantly being shoved down your throat by the eeevil JOO-ISH film conspiracy? What does your gf say about it? oh wait, that's right /tv/ doesn't have girlfriends.
actually there should be something like a best flick category for things like fruy roadthat are extremely enjoyable but lack greatly plot wise, but that would probably offend many film makers
The ending in Revenant is fucking hilarious. When
Hardy loses his fingers and is basically just like "oh man," then they just keep hacking the shit out of each other, blood everywhere. Maybe you should've raised a man instead of a girlie little bitch. I was actually laughing by the end of it.
