If you've seen all of the pictures of him he looks like the dude that taught kylo ren in the scene where they meet.
Here's a thought I had when I rewatched the movie, dunno if it's been touched upon already :
If Snoke is indeed Plagueis, what if he actually isn't a hologram like the movie makes us believe he is, but a force ghost ?
Think about it, Plagueis is meant to be the first force user to have achieved the means to 'cheat death' which in universe is shown to be reaching force ghost status upon death, just like Obiwan and Yoda did later on.
What if Plagueis has indeed been dead for decades, killed by his apprentice Sidious, and he's now pulling the strings from the death realm, as a force ghost ?
Wouldn't be the first time the movie uses mirrors from the OT (in this case, Vader talking to Sidious' hologram) for it turning out to be something else entirely.
What if the next movie reveals Snoke has been a force ghost all along once Kylo goes to meet him to complete his training ?
Nope, we see him dissipate in a pixelated manner just like a hologram. How could still be a ghost I guess, but that was definitely a video recording of a ghost then, which seems redundant. Plus it's impossible for Sith to become ghosts in new canon because the Sith are intrinsically tied to their worldly selves in a selfish manner. If it's Plagueis, then that's his reanimated corpse, which is fully possible.
We don't know what Plagueis looks like anymore in new canon.
huh, you made me realize something
When Kylo Ren fails to extract information out of Rey he goes to see Snoke, who says 'Bring her to me'. Kylo heads off to bring Rey to the room where Snoke is being projected. But that is kind of odd language to use right? 'Bring her to me' implies bringing her to wherever Snoke physically is. So if he really was in that throne room the only explanation for disappearing at the end of his dialogue is he's a ghost.
Honestly, if I had to put money on it, i'd say it probably is just a hologram. But it's worth mentioning I guess.
Luke, did I ever tell you about how your father was conceived when Sheev Palpatine and Darth Plagueis literally tried raping the Force and infusing it with Dark Side energy before being cockblocked and having their combined Sith spunk knock up some random 4/10 by accident? You're like one quarter Dark Side rapebaby and so is your sister, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan who was adopted by Senator Bail Organa, someone who actually witnessed the Jedi Temple Massacre but for some reason never told anyone and was also never hunted down by the Empire despite for knowing too much.
He was a good friend.
Also if you get in a fight with Vader, bring an uzi because blaster bolts are slow as balls. I'm not kidding, Force-users can literally block them with their hands or even freeze them mid-air. Shit's retarded.
I know what you mean, you're basing this off the fact it seemed only Luke could see force ghosts, but did it really ?
Or maybe dark side force ghosts work a bit differently and they can be shown to normal people ?
But you guys are probably right anyway, it was just a funny thought I had, which could have been a cool reveal for the next movie. They really need a surprising reveal, because so far Rey being related to Luke or Leia won't really cut it.
Tbqh if he was Plagueis, what possible reason could he have to not just use his proper name instead of some retarded shit Snoke? Sheev and Vader are gone, I doubt anyone else ever even knew who Plagueis was seeing as the sith hadn't been heard of in a millennia before Maul
Can we all agree that making him Darth Plagueis is much less of an asspull than making him a new powerful sith lord that came out of nowhere?
It would be a nice way of tying all three trilogies together.
Isn't the Darth thing something only the prequels did, though ?
Going by the fact the new movies are ignoring the prequels, all of that shit wouldn't really apply.
The prequels got a lot stuff wrong - Jedi wearing Tatooine clothing, Sidious using a lightsaber while in ROTJ he kept referring to it as a Jedi weapon, etc.
Darth Plagueis was his Sith name. He doesn't /no longer identifies as a Sith at this point, birth name could easily be Snoke and the retconning of the old EU means he no longer has to be a THE BANKING CLAN WILL SIGN YOUR TREATY
>mfw Disney brings back Sheev to please the public
That's stupid. Bane was dead in the clone wars, the tomb he had was visited by yoda in the clone wars tv show.
Plagueis was able to change mediclorians to get unlimited life force and can create life from the force. It's not entirely known if he died or was able to come back to life like some sith lords are able to create. Read the star wars wiki and you learn a lot.
>Snoke is just some new character that they pulled out of their ass.
which is much worse than if they made him an established character like Plagueis.
hopefully the next directory fixes it
Yes, anon, there were never any Darth's in the OT.
sorry m8, you're gonna have to accept George's retcons, Darth is a title now
>han and leia fucking
>sheev being a sneaky cunt and hiding
>sheev force stops the cumflow mid air
>force guides his own cum into leia
is there anything sheev cant do
>Hayden Christensen ghost returns to train Rey
but there are other sith pre new canon so its just as likely there is a new sith lord in the new canon sidious was the last of the rule of two order and the force isnt exclusive to jedi and sith
>TFW Sheev was so evil, he was perceived as a literal "hole" in the Force, made of pure darkness.
Coldsteel the Hedgehog has nothing on him.
>You look beautiful... For my granddaughter I mean.
It's such a good and solid theory that it's almost definitely going to be proven wrong with a monumentally boring and uncreative explanation
just like every other good fan theory that inevitably gets shot down
>bane is considered non cannon
> Star wars the clone wars shows Yoda visiting Bane's Tomb and talks about how Bane created the rules of two
> Cannon is defined by non cannon books
>is the cannon really not ignoring non cannon or is non cannon considered cannon?
THe new SW trilogy is trying to stand on it's own legs. They made the first one similar to SW IV to have a relatable launching platform for the next two movies.
I'm pretty sure they will come up with new characters and not reuse old ones.
As a second argument, consider what we know about plagueis (even if it's no longer canon):
-he lost all interest in manipulating people, companies or planets. He passed that to Shevee
-he spent all the final part of his life studying the force and trying to cheat death.
If he really did succeed i doubt he would rally the REMNANTS of the Empire who already kind of lost (they signed a treaty with the new republic that was detrimental to the first order).Picking up the military breadcrumbs of the galaxy does not fit Plagueis.
And the other side of the coin, Snoke really doesn't strike me as a character with vast knowledge and high manipulation skills. He keeps everyone under his control through fear but not overwhelming. Neither Kylo nor Hux seem to be shitting theire pants when facing Snoke (unlike everyone else was with Palpatine). And he is afraid of the New Republic, Resitance and the Jedi threat.Snoke feels more like a character that saw past events from the shadow and saw an opportune moment to seize power after the Empire fell.
Plagueis literally named is Ep.III.
Long into his apprenticeship, Sheev fed Plagueis up with wine and force lightninged him to death. I think that was the Ep3 novel, so not sure if canon. If Plagueis is a master of life, recovery seems legit.
i just reread the final chapter.
Shevee uses force lightining on the breathing aparatus of Plagueis and then on Plagueis himself "in the center of the storm, Plagueis's form became anamorphic, then resumed shape".After that, maybe he force chocked him but i'm not fully sure.
From Shevee's point of view, he could feel Plagueis try and control the midichlorians to save his life but he did not alow him/them to do so.After he died, Shevee feels an awarness of power. So it's still up in the air.
from the treatment he got,one would expect more damage than some facial scarring and not a skull gash
If a force user could retake his physical form, why not get rid of those nasty looking scars?
>plagueis is snoke
>quiet is chico
>bush did 9/11
What other things has 4chan been adamant about and then proved hilariously wrong?
i've had to go see this movie 3 times now because i had to take my nephews the first time and they kept asking questions, then i went with my girlfriend and she kept asking questions, and finally i went last night and it changed NOTHING because I STARTED asking questions on google
this movie fucking blows i'm shit fuck retarded
>le snoke is darth plagueis
Fuck off you dumb redditor it's obviously Darth Bane
Anakin, did you ever hear the tragedy, of Darth Plagueis, the novel?
It was a novel so riveting, and so full of juicy Sheev lore; that it cold even keep the EU from dying. It also gave the Sith some much-needed backstory.
One excellent aspect of the book was that Sheev had a quirky, yet violent history as a member of a noble family on Naboo. He liked to go fast in fancy landspeeders, and killed some pedestrians while going fast one time. His dad Cosinga said he could never drive again; but Sheev is always manipulative and gets what he wants, so later-on his dad gave him the most expensive landspeeder possible, and Sheev started professional racing in it so he could go even faster than before (probably even did a few spins).
However, the novel was originally supposed to come out in 2008, but it got cancelled in favor of a novel about Darth Bane (must have been a big guy to the fandom back then). Eventually, it got green lighted and published in 2012 - the year Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney.
Hmmph, ironic, they could make a good novel about Sheev's backstory; but they couldn't prevent Disney from shitting all over it and making it not canon.
Plagueis had the ability to come back through his manipulation of mediklorians which Bane did not have the ability to do. He could create life and continue the expanse of life (Plagueis) through force powers.
>jedi didn't canonically wear tatooine clothing before the prequel trilogy
>all the farmer plebs on Tatooine where simple cloth robes, much like the jedi
>so Obi goes and hides out there, easily blending in
>Tatooine also is both Luke and Annie's childhood homes they eventually leave to face their destiny
Stop thinking about it too hard guys. Its a Disney movie for children, they will keep it VERY simple. TFA should be proof enough. No history lessons, no explaning of shit. Action, short dialog, action, repeat.
Ok guys i just wanted to ask. There was a TFA trailer where Luke talks about the force in his family: My sister has it, my father had it. You have that power too. Was it in the movie? If yes, im gonna kil nyself because movies and tb series are the only things i remember perfectly.
